  1. If I remember correctly wern't NTL on watchdog a few months back for poor customer service and struggling financially? I've also had simillar problems with TalkTalk complete morons in a call center in pakistan or something which I can normally deal with IF I COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE BLOODY SAYING
  2. Sorry to steel your thunder aido mate but I was thinking the same thing on Sunday travelling down the M1 3.30ish I was passed by 3 IS200s within 5mins I mean i'm not slow :winky: but there was a 55plate black IS i'm sure he or she was trying to break the land speed record. And when I stopped off at services for a wimpy I spoted another just thought it was a bit strange was their a meet anywere near leicester yesturday? LOL
  3. Some of you may have read recently that I had a rubbing noise coming from the nearside front wheel wich I thought may have been a sticking calliper I had this checked out at my local garage (non Lexus) on friday it wasn't a sticking calliper but possibly a stone got stuck or something but anyway they dismantled and reasembled the the front brakes and seems to have cleared the problem. Great plus they didn't charge me a penny! But on the afterwork test drive as they call it we noticed a clunky rattling noise coming from the offside rear everytime we went over a bump or pothole the KID that was test driving said it was probably one of the linkages from the anti roll bar was worn or loose???? has anyone heard of this? if he had said the ball joints had worn it would of made sense as iv'e read a few topics about this This dosent seem like the obvoius cause to me but i'm not the expert so I thought id check with you guys (the real experts) so I don't go in on tuesday blind and end up throwing money at something that could be easily fixed. So far 4 months into owning my first Lexus i'm slowly starting to worry that theese Little problems may start to get bigger which was exactly the reason I went from my Punto to a car that was voted most reliable 3 years running eemmmm! Cheers Gordon
  4. Cheers Guys ill take the wheel off and try and find the fault but if its anything to do with brakes or stripping down ill leave to the expert at least by checking ill know its is/not the calliper it will save me some time and cash Just got me wondering (if) i get Lexus to fix this do you think they would give me a coutesy car while i'm away for the weekned? i realise it may cost me a bit more but emmm would be nice Regards Gordon Could be your pads worn Gordon If its your calliper, you will need to strip it down, i dont know how good you are at thing like this ? as Mike says take wheel off to see if its something other that the calliper.
  5. Pads are fine mate is it easy fixed once ive jacke the car up and find it is a sticking calliper? or is this best left to a specialist? Could be your pads worn Gordon
  6. Hi guys for a few days now ive noticed a slight rubbing noise like metal to meatal just ever so slightly coming from the drivers front/rear wheel is this a sign of a sticking calliper????? or is there another common fault i'm not familliar with Got another 200mile journey this afternon so if i have to get it fixed before hand then so be it. I can drop into my local brake specialist but obviousley dont want to pay out if its not sticky calliper so any input would be great. Thanks in advance
  7. Update!!! Well i'm still in one piece and no shackles or handcuffs to show for it (few) What a night first off picked up from my local in a stretched Chrysler (think its the chrysler 300 something) Case of beers champagne & Spirits all layed on We begin the 30mile journey into london were we getting some amount of attention from onlookers and passers buy (until we opend the windows LOL) we arrive a very intresting place we shall call a gentlemans club on totnham court road anyone know it? A couple of hours later and £760 lighter (between 7 of us) limo to leicester sq to a club called tiger tiger but we wern't allowed in beacuase of the amount of blokes in the group with no women newish rules for london clubs apparently. So after trying another 3/4 clubs with the same old story we gave up and called the chauffer back and polished off the rest of the mini bar on the way home and spent a good few hours talking bable in my best mans garden. A slightly disapointing end to the night but all the same a very good experiance :D And thankyou for all your comments Gordon
  8. Not for another 4 weeks but we thought we should get the stag and hen doos out the way early (time to recover) :duh:
  9. As I think I might not be back for some time
  10. Thanks for the info I have tried this under both circumstances and waving my arm through the window did not set the alarm off but if i put the key in the door and turn it goes off so the alarm is working but why wont it work with the arm swinging?????? Any ideas oh and yes i waited the 30seconds for the alarm to set
  11. Thanks Javadude Helpfull info as usual
  12. I'm trying to clear up the issues with the press once press twice sequence on the key fob after marcus's post about his recent breakin (Sorry to hear this Marcus) we discovered his alarm didn't go off and this got me worrying Apparently there is a diffrence between the locking on pre 2001 model IS to the newer spec I have a 99 IS & Currently I always press the fob lock twice for 5 flashes believing this double locks the car? but obviousley ill change this if pressing twice deactivates the microwave sensor or anyother part of the alarm. I consulted the IS Bible but I must have a later manual as it tells me to press once for 5flashes and twice for 2 flashes :duh: Apologies if this is bable but hey its early Can anyone clear this up?
  13. Sorry to hear this mate i know a very good garage not far from you (high Wycombe) not sure on the pricing but they are profesional and honest www.soundgallery.co.uk

Need some help guys as the topic description states the dash indicator for the seatbelt no longer works i had a problem a few days ago were i could not put the belt in the cradle it ceased up maybe just the sensors knackered? but this would have any bearing on the pretensioners etc? Any ideas on cause and how to fix? anyone had any problems like this in the past? many thanks Gordon
  16. One of the funniest i've ever seen does anyone think the ending was a bit suspect either way hilarious
  17. Any one got any spare (obviousley Pay) or know were I can get hold of some? Ta
  18. Yep I say call their bluff i really can't see them taking the chance of loosing a sale over this even if they apparently do have another 17 waiting on the list BU :tsktsk: IT If their not willing to budge on the 18s ask them what their willing to do about your waiting time
  19. If it was me I would stick to my original order. But it depends on how long your willing to wait if anything they should be throwing in the 18s as a goodwill gesture for your extended delay Bit of a cheeck if you ask me anyhow good luck
  20. You can De code all the keys and start from scratch only the keys that you recode will work
  21. Some of you may have read that recently i had the dreaded err3 message so iv'e decided to by a new stereo (aftermarket) I went into my local sound gallery and told them I wanted another 6cd changer they only had a couple on the shelfs and he said I was looking at around £400 before fitting (suddenly Lexus reapair sounds more appealing) He asked if i was an ipod man which i'm not he said that he could sell me one of his Stereo+ipod+ fitting for less than half the previous quote He also added cd changers are a thing of the past and I could hold a hell of a lot more music on my ipod what i did forget to ask him b4 I left can any ipod fit any ipod compatible cd player as his ipods were way more than i would pay at argos etc or do I need to buy the stereo+ipod set???? Any input folks would be great Cheers
  22. Ok smart arse no need to boast LOL :D
  23. I know this sounds confusing but when you decode all the fobs to do with that car are decoded only the fobs you RE CODE will work and yes they would be able to get in your car with the key but the alarm will sound The alarm only sounds initially for 15/20 seconds unless there is movement in th vehicle after the 15/20 seconds are up Hope this helps
  24. Welcome to the LOC what spec you getting? I've seen some amazing pictures of mods on this site unfortanatly mines not one of them Not yewt anyway :D
