  1. thanks fidgits thats pretty much what I thought. He has got a broken head or indicator light aswell as some glenavron pine paint down his bumper there was glass left over ive taken a few pictures of te damage to mine just in case he feels the slightest bit guilty and wants to come clean ill also keep any garage bills.

I suppose I need to be thankfull in someways it wasnt more direclty side on that would have done some real damage

    Cheers

without a plate it'll be tough for the police to do anything, even with the make, model and colour of the car, they would have to prove it was him.

    (perhaps damage would help)

But the fact is, i dont think you'll get much from the police on this.

  2. Evening all not been on for a while having troubles with Pipex Connection

    Anyway bit of a moan

On the way home from work today some silly old fool side swiped my rear bumber because he just couldn't wait for me to clear the roundabout so i now own a Lexi with dirty deep scratches down the reay bumper oh and a nice little crease to match.

Ok go to pull over call him a **** exchange insurence details etc etc etc

Look in my rear view mirror he just carrys on driving????????? surely he must of noticed it was quite a whack? but by the time i can turn the car round and give chase he's already lost me in the maze of streets round were I live.I drove round for a good 10-15minutes looking but no joy

A few witneses but no one got the reg plate

Just seems strange i saw his face fairly oldish 50s ish

    07 Renault megane Saloon

Is it worth reporting to the police or going through insurence? it would probably cost round £100 to have the scratches sorted so probably not worth going through insurence and loosing no claims somebody told me that theirs a goverment fund for hit and run accidents anyone?

i'm thinking ill just grin and bair it What would you do?

  3. Hi folks

As the title says I'm looking for personal accident insurence i'm a newly qualified HGV driver and will be spending a lot more time out on our roads

As i'm currently working for an agency im not really covered for time off work, ill or injured etc etc i just want to make sure that myself and the wife can affford the everyday bills should something go wrong or I have an accident

Ive been looking around and most qoutes seem to be quite competetive and all offer most of the same benefits i'm just wondering if anyone here has had any experiences with this type of insurence and what they would suggest

the last thing anyone wants is problems with claiming (insuresrs trying to riggle out), poor customer service skills etc etc

I'm really looking for a no quibble insurence company so any hints, tips or advise appreciated

  4. Bank charges: Reclaim them, they're unlawful, so you can get six years money back

Your bank owes your money. Thousands have claimed £1000s as charges for exceeding your overdrafts, or bounced direct debits and cheques are commonly believed to be unlawful. This is a step-by-step guide including template letters and calculators making bank busting easy.

excllent site i always find helpful.

    Thanks Steve! nice find

After you posting this link I took the plunge and went through the last 6 years of statments its taken 5 weeks and two letters the first one stating the complaint and the default charge amount, the second threatning Barclays with court action because they never replied witnin the timescale set by the FSA (28 days) this morning (5 days after threatning court action) I got a letter offering £420 of the £618 claimed which is good enough for me :D

    Cheers mate theres a pint in for you :D :D :D :D

  5. "Petrol flap" if it's the release (not releasing) I had the same problem just buy a new clip from your local Dealer cost around £2.70 common fault apparently!

    Hi Guys,

Looks like I have to explain myself for not having pics up yet.

I'm going back years in the car detailing section of LOC to iron out a few problems.

I've got a busted petrol flap (came with the car) a small hole in the driver side rear lights

fogging up the inside(not my fault again came with the car) and I reversed into a pillar,

so theres a dirty scratch I need to fix.

So i'm a bit ashamed  to put pics up as all yours cars look immaculate and fair play.

I live in galway and work in kildare so the long drives are a pleassssssure for me.

I only heard about the rolling road on sunday so I missed that one, hopefully next time.

The more I read the more confidence I get to fix the Lex up, as I've always fixed, serviced my own car.

But as ye all no Lexus are a different class so I'm a bit wary to go near it.

Please keep up the good work.

will put a few pics up here this evening that are ok to show, as I'm at work at the mo.

    Supercharger are very tempting.................we'll see

  7. I had the same problem 6 months ago when I went to put my new plates on, I had to gauge out the old screws using a lot of bute force hammer and screwdriver and, I just used sticky pads to put on the new plates and that covered any holes left by the previous screws it looks a lot nicer without the screws showing anyway
