  1. Seeing A Forest up there reminded me of these cover versions. Both as good as the original although a little different.
  2. @Mossypossy About 35 for me 🙂
  3. and with more time on our hands, we can enjoy the majesty of 2112...but different. The version of another brick in the wall by the same guy is about as scary as the original
  4. This one's kind of appropriate in these quiet times
  5. Here's a live version to while away quarter of an hour. Enjoy!
  6. No Youtube links for me but so far on vinyl: Camel - Music Inspired by The Snow Goose Candlemass - Nightfall (it hasn't aged well in all honesty) King Crimson - Red (gets better every listen) Gong - You (Not much beats the glorious omm riff that is Master Builder)
  7. Unless the council have filled the pothole in, I imagine you can go back and take a photo of it - unless it's on a busy dual carriage-way of course.
  8. For £160 you could buy a phone, a cheap PAYG sim, a phone holder, install Waze and be kept up to date and better directed in real time better than any car more than a couple of years old. Plus, you'd have enough left over to buy all the data you'd need for a few years.
  9. There are films about that sort of thing on the internet...was there a camera!?
  10. So as much as I loved my LS and wafting to and from work in effortless comfort and speed was...relaxing, it was also very painful in the wallet - even with the LPG conversion. If I hadn't bought it on a whim and not had to replace the battery, starter motor, LPG reducer and all the other bits and pieces then I'd be a bit more reluctant to have seen it go. I've since kept the eco-warriors happy and upset the potential taxi-drivers by buying a low(ish) mileage prius. Saving just under £28 a month in VED and going nearly twice as far for the fuel means that I'm a lot less worried. Most importantly though, the radio works.
  11. If you fancy a visit to Kent then my old schoolfriend who runs Acme Locks of Canterbury reckoned he could clone mine. I was all set to order a blank from the US to see if he could do it but I sold my LS the next day 😱
  12. It would probably only affect the hybrid (600h) models as the cats are used less on hybrids - although with such a big engine, I would imagine they get a bit more use than a 400h.
  13. It still doesn't like a couple of the pics. It's also just had a new radiator fitted so that all important "fix" is done. Being forced to go part-time means I'm reluctantly putting her up for sale - I'll put something in the for sale section if Andy gives me first refusal.
  14. Yeah. I'll add more tonight when I get home but here's some pics. Just to add, it's had a new battery, starter motor, timing belt, lpg reducer and a few other bits. I'd attach more but it's not liking it, probably due to size and being on my phone.
  15. If you got a refund, that is good news. I'll echo that these keys are nigh-on impossible to reprogram. I have a very good friend who is also a master locksmith and if he couldn't do it, nor any of his close associates, then yeah, paying Lexus an exorbitant amount is the only way I can think of. Slightly off topic, but does anyone know the best place to buy a blank key? I only have one and although it (blank) won't be able to be used to drive the car, the blade cut to shape would mean I needn't worry about locking my key in the boot 😱
  16. An OBD2 reader from ebay should diagnose the majority of problems. I paid about £4 for mine and there are a variety of free apps that work on your phone. For basics and a quick diagnosis you can't beat it. Especially as people say "That's just because of the LPG". I was told that and it turned out to be one of the O2 sensors. On the oil, if it's just a fraction over, I imagine it's probably still within tolerance of the engine, but a diagnosis will confirm.
  17. Arise! Arise! oh thread from the dead. I've just replaced my radiator after the nipple that connects to the expansion tank snapped off. This thread was a great help (should be a sticky really). I struggled with two things though... Firstly, I replaced the ATF hoses as I had to cut the old ones off - they were an absolute bugger to get back on the pipes on the gearbox. The other problem was the big clips on the big hoses - one of them was fine because I used a big jubilee clip instead of the clamp type one. The other was too big for my pliers after it had been slid down the pipe when I removed it. It took me ages to work out that my much-battered and abused mole grips were big enough to grip the clamp so that I could move it back to the correct position. Losing one of the nuts that holds the clamps down didn't help 🤬 but a replacement is easily found at work. I reckon this job would've been a lot easier in Summer!
  18. Gutted for you. Not wanting to seem like a hyena lurking near a recently killed zebra but...I could do with the small engine cover on the right hand side of the engine bay and somewhat strangely the boot opening switch that's by the petrol opening switch, not the one from the bootlid.* If you were close enough to collect I'd ask what you wanted for a wheel and tyre - I've got an LPG tank where mine should be. *I believe in clarity
  19. That's a pre-facelift. The facelift ones have thinner, straight foglights, yours are rounder. There are other differences but that's the main one. Oh, and you've only got 5 gears.
  20. I've seen it in the manual and yes it's for comfort around the neck if you're not as tall as most. My old A6 had it so I imagine it's probably standard on most premium cars.
  21. On my LS430 I too discovered it by accident shortly after thinking "why did that stop working?". When the switch is in the middle section, the mirrors don't dip. When the switch is set to the left or right, then lo and behold, it miraculously starts working again.
  22. Hi David, I posted a buyer's guide last month that should help based on my experience of buying an 04 (facelift) car. Good luck with your buy.
  23. Was it the same one that flashed me about a month ago on the Haine Road in Ramsgate? I was driving to work about 10am but it could well have been Malc's indie giving it a test drive.
  24. I've had a similar issue when a small stone managed to get wedged between the brake disk and the shield. Can't remember what car it was on but it's the sort of thing that can happen to any car.
  25. I saw this post a couple of months ago when I had the dreaded warning lights. My mate at work cleared the fault using his OBD2 reader that he got from Ebay. The fault reappeared about 8 miles later as it was the Lambda sensor that was knackered. I bought one of these readers myself (about £5) and once the sensor was changed, I cleared the fault myself. It also told me exactly what the problem was! Disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes also cleared my particular fault as well but that may be coincidence. It was a darn site easier than struggling to get a paperclip in the right holes. And it may well show you what Airbag you need to check/replace etc.
