  1. I bought some carlack 68 systematic care polish, the AIO one, and also some P21S wax. Do I need to leave 24 hrs between the sytematic care application and applying the wax or not. Its not the sealant glaze, just the polish stuff? Cheers
  2. I have always beaten the official figures for my Sport (average 42mpg), my current tank says 45 mpg so far (200 miles)
  3. Cellensia seating is fine. I have the Ivory, if it gets dirty a clean washing up sponge and plain water gets out any marks easily. 18's and sports suspension is not too harsh, it still rides like a lexus and not much different from 17's, plus the 18's look wicked :winky: Can't fault the car! Just wanted an auto, but the manual is fine in mine.
  4. Personally, it would be between the IS250SE Auto (SE-L auto if you can stretch to that) and the IS220d Sport. I chose the IS220d Sport because I pay my own fuel. I average 43mpg. I don't like the gearing on the other diesels (S, SE, SE-L) it basically renders it a 5 speed box and the acceleration isn't as good in gear, but the different final drive ratio on the diesel sport makes a huge difference. The auto is superb though. The ideal combination would be IS250SE-L auto with 18 inch wheels.....but thats getting expensive... If only the IS220d Sport came with an auto box as an option it would be perfect..... I personally can't justify the price of the MM.
  5. It depends what risk factor you want to put on your money. 7 months is short term so its best in cash somwhere, see option a):- Best low risk would be to put £3000 in NS&I cash ISA (5.05% tax free) and the rest in ICCICI bank HiSave account (5.15%). If you want a higher risk you could put into a Unit Trusts or OEIC's or maybe even shares, but you need to research what you are buying. These are more volatile and better for longer term investments. If it were me, I'd go for option a)
  6. TalkTalk, worst I've ever experienced by far! Completely useless. Avoid!
  7. Mine used to rattle from dash but Lexus Woodford fixed it. Now 100% rattle free.
  8. Yep, there is a button that will lock/unlock all doors on the driver's door armrest in old and new IS. Auto dip of the side mirros when reversing like the Auto and GS an all variants of the New IS. Jamboo, my Sport auto dips the side mirrors when reversing, so not sure which specs do and don't? Its very useful aswell when parallel parking. Roonaldo, I think It's missing on the Base and the SE by the looks of it... Thats a bit poor then, its hardly a massive value adding feature, just very useful.
  9. I have, this week, experienced the variable fuel economy figures that people have been wondering about. I do the same journey everyday and consistently achieve 42/43mpg in my 220d Sport. I had an SE for a week a few weeks ago, whilst the dash rattle was being looked at, and averaged 47/48 mpg on this journey. I have just had another (different car) SE for a week, but can't get this above 40 mpg on the same journey every day. This new SE had just 900 miles on the clock when I picked it up and the previous one had 2k+, and the weather is very hot so air-con is on permanentely, but this shouldn't make that much of a difference surely?

  11. OK cheers, thanks for the advice. I'll pencil a whole Sunday in shortly and get down the gym, to build the arm muscles up :winky:
  12. Depends if you've applied wax... Wax previously...no no wax....then OK No, I've only used cr@ppy turtle wax type polish.
  13. Could I just shampoo then go to SG, missing out the AIO stage, bearing in mind the cars still new and in "as new" condition?
  14. Thanks guys, I really want to do the above but don't think I'd have the time to do all that, especially leaving 24hrs between coats. I'll start with one coat of SG and see how we go from there. No need to do it all in one week. You can put a layer of SG on each weekend. Then just apply wax. Build it up over time of you like. Just make sure you wash it before hand Ok cool, that sounds better :winky:

  16. Thanks, So once I've done the initial treatment of AIO then SG, I can just shampoo with the carlack shampoo and maybe every 3-6 months give it another SG, or will I need to AIO then SG?
  17. I want to do a proper polishing job on my new car, whilst its still new. So I plan on getting the carlack systematic care and sealant kit. My question is once I have applied the systematic care and sealed it with sealant glaze, what do i apply next time i wash it? Do I need to do both or just the systematic care or just the SG? I'm thinking that you don't need to do both at every wash? Also, do i need to do anything before applying these treatments? ie remove the current polish thats on the car or will a simple wash then the carlack stuff do? Hope you get what i mean Cheers,
  18. Forgive my ignorance, but whats a porter cable? See here....Porter cable I NEED one of those! Are they available in the UK?

  20. FYI, Some drives, even though they support overburning, will overburn better than others. I have a Sony DVD re-writer and a brand new Lite-on DVD re-writer. The Sony one will burn right up to 900+mb per disk, but it seems the Lite-on will only burn up to 800Mb. So the Lite-on is being returned... The lexus stereo will only read up to 878Mb on a disk. Also, if you do "disk info" in Nero, ignore what it says about the capacity of the disk. If the CD-R is a 900Mb one, it may still show 703Mb. Mine do, but work up to 900Mb.
