  5. She recons I love the car more than her:( She's right:smilegrin:
  6. Hi Guys, The display on the dash indicates were the gearbox selector is and not what gear the car is in. Hope that makes sense:)
  7. Yep, used them 5 times so far without issue. However if the damage is too bad or in the wrong place to effect a good repair they have always told me before starting any work.:)
  8. If the system is similar to the DVD system in my 430, you can choose home and any previous destinations without the car being stationary.:)
  9. Hi JoJo, If the IS is too underpowered and the LS to big. Why not consider a GS, you could pick up a secondhand two year old GS430 for around £30k. 280bhp quicker than any Audi and most BMW's superbly reliable and all the other benifits of the Lexus brand.
  10. The instructions tell you to rub the polish/wax on and then polish it off. Then spray the car with a mist of water and polish again. This second polish is hard work as the water makes it smeer, although after this the finish is brilliant.
  11. Got mine from Halfords, I think it was around £12.00 worth every penny:cool:
  12. What - Gord's not coming ? That Babe magnet must be so strong to keep him in Ireland. PS Can sporties son have his beer please
  13. Zymol is the best product by far. Yes I would go along with this:):) Autoglym's gone in the bin, its all hype. The finish of Zymol is stuning, just stuning. If you are going to JAE please only approach Steve's and my car with sunshades on as other wise you risk damage to your eyes. :o:o They are so shiny:lol::lol:
  14. I have told my insurance company about all my mods, Lowered suspension, bigger wheels, Body kit etc etc. What happened? After each mod they sent me a new insurance certificate and the cost nothing.
  15. I have found this special priced supercharger for an IS 300/200, should save you £1000's off the TDI price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=1844083929
  16. Gordon, I was taught by a master called GRiM, to be sure:lol:
  17. The lights are red. The road is dry, and the carriageway in front of me is void of traffic. I'm sitting in my car, talking to my son, trying to convince him that we should go see Minority Report, when a Lexus IS 200 SC with what looked like a HKS exhaust, gruffs up on my inside. He blips the throttle. He blips the throttle again, and again. I ignore him. Just as the lights turn to amber, my son asks me if I'm going to beat this guy from the lights. "No." I say to him. "You don't play with the little fish, when there are bigger fish to fry." The IS 200 SC roars off before green, leaving me standing at the lights, wondering if I should've taken him. Then reality kicks in. Against a GS 430 I’d waste him like he was going backwards. But I don't even have a stock GS. I have the second largest investment in my life, powered by 300 bhp V8 and a few trick enhancements, from a small, but specialist developer called TDi. So, the lights turn green, and the IS 200 SC already has the lead on me. I've just had time to switch the TRC off, before the lights turn green, as TRC would ruin a fast start, before I see the IS 200 SC dart off in front of me. Thundering my foot to the floor, I feel the car lunge forward, as it sparks into life. The IS 200 SC jumpstart gives him a car lengths lead, and with a quoted figure of 7.0 secs 0-60 I don’t have to try to hard. But I need fear not. Second gear comes on me without realising, as I'm too busy watching the rev counter hit 6000. Slotting her into second, without so much as a stutter, the car leaps forward again, this time with more power, and this time with the V8 , just warming up. The rev counter hits 6000 again. Damn that was quick, do I need third gear, no not really. But where is that IS 200 SC? He's less than a car length behind me , just as I slam it into third. As we near 140mph, the IS 200 SC has nothing more left to give. Meanwhile with 3 thousand more revs of V8 power to go, I lunge forward to 155mph leaving the IS 200 SC well behind. Having more power, and more torque, any gear proves to be my winning gear. The V8 and 300bhp has done it's job. It has provided me with enough power to catch, take, and leave any IS 200 SC behind. It's time now, to move into the inside lane, and ease off the power, stop have a cup of tea and a bun and wait for him to catch up. A job well done..... The game's over, The GS rules!
  18. I have had the alarm go off intermittently, it happened mostly when I opened the garage door. It was cured by the dealer turning down the sensitivity of the alarms internal sensers.
  19. Hi Kamlex, I have used a Halfords kit to paint my GS calipers, they look great and the kit is easy to use.
  20. Since fitting my two Hypers i have not noticed any difference in fuel comsuption. Its still averaging 28mpg, but it has knocked half a second of the 0-60
  21. Rod,Playa Its been done on a GS using a pioneer device by a guy in the states very resently. I am sure it also works on the IS Sat/nav, will find the forum and post here.
  22. If ever you get blinded from a Lexus behind you, Its me, with my Standard HID Lamps.:lol:
  23. Justin and Pete, You are right the MRK 1 did have traction fitted but not in the UK. THe ones that did have it fitted had a computer behind the dashboard underneath the glovebox close to the inner wing. This connected to a throttle motor on the engine and had a daskboard mounted switch to turn it off. It was linked to the ABS rear wheel sensers. Hope this helps, can supply the part numbers if needed. Cheers dave Parts book does not say what make the computer is.
