  1. From personal experience ... The Nav option isn't much more than £1000 in other EU countries ... Surprise Surprise ... rip off britain is alive and well ...
  2. Who gave you this info out of interest? Cheers Si Not misinformed at all ... If you just use shorter springs, you're more likely to 'bottom out' your shox. So, you wouldn't want to lower too much like this. You can however change shox too for some better suited to bigger drops. Typically this would be an adjustable ride height spring / shox set. Hope that helps
  3. This could be the answer. Most tyre places will just do a tracking check on the fronts ... Using optiline guages or similar ... Dealer should have a full 4 wheel alignment rig ... These cost 10's of thousands and a check up is usually therefore more expensive. You should get a printed report of toe, camber, thrust etc angles before and after adjustment. Should also show the acceptable tolerances ... Last time i had this done on my IS, it only cost 25quid and transformed the car. That was while they were doing the 10k service. Having it done again at the 20k in a couple of weeks ...
  4. Chris is right .. That's how the sport spoiler arrived on my SE ... Swapped lids with morph who wanted a clean start to fit a BIGGER spoiler. The standard sport spoiler won't come off without making a mess of the boot lid. It's bonded on pretty good So yes, someone with a granite sky SE must be up for a freebie swap surely ??
  5. No but it seems to put in a respectable performance at the Dartford toll booth grand prix now :D
  6. That puts me in the minority then No performance mods other than the compressor. B)

why do UK companys rip ppl off so blatantly Because they know they can get away with it :arrrggg-matey:
  8. Bonnet is being done while i'm on holiday in a couple of weeks Who told you
  9. Except the site admin of course ... As you can see from his post, he's a sexist pompous bum :D
  10. So have you been to Lexus Ipswich then Simon? And is it any good? I'm shall be angling for some replacement wheels on the warranty soon as mine are deteriorating. Did you mean to ask Simon that ?? I've popped in to the new Ipswich showroom several times now. They're having my car for the week while i'm off skiing ... 20k service and a bunch of warranty jobs I'd like wheels too as mine have the pitting. Unfortunately i've also scuffed them (some quite bad) ... so mention has been made of a 'betterment' payment :( Obviously i'll post a report in the dealer review section. The good news though is that i think i've nagged them into 'GoldMember Discount' B)
  11. They don't get much further east in anglia than me that's for sure Tony lives on a boat :) And Steve has a barge :D With Lexus badges too
  12. They don't get much further east in anglia than me that's for sure
  13. I've had one similar sounding problem. Car was parked up for the weekend ... Started fine ... onto main roads about 10 mins later ... 6th gear locked out completely ... just wouldn't go in. It was as if something was blocking the gate ... After about another 10 mins it relented and has been ok again since. Odd that :duh:
  14. Mines in to Ipswich in a couple of weeks for the 20k + some warranty work. Initial enquiries suggest about 280quid for the service. My 10k was @ Bristos and came in at 85quid inc vat. I had a full wheel alignment too at additional 25+vat. I suspect 'Hadleigh Carport' (Hadleigh + Ipswich dealers) are well up there among the high price services brigade. Not complaining though - It'll help cover my coffee bill there
  15. I ordered lenses from usa once ... yes got stung for duty + vat. After that, may as well order from postoptics in the uk.
  16. Hi G7UHF - welcome to the club are you saying that the RAC man said that Lexus have fitted a wrong battery to all IS's? or have you changed your battery, and the RAC thought you made a bad choice? Don't know if anyone saw 'rogue traders' last night did they ?? I just caught the end of it and it seems to me .... anything the RAC say about duff batteries is to be treated with utter contempt :arrrggg-matey: The patrols are under pressure to meet 'sales targets' .... I ask you ... 'sales targets' ?? I thought they're supposed to be a service not a shop Having said that, i've never had a problem with the rac ... but then i've only ever called them to fix other peoples cars which i've been travelling in :D
  17. OK Steve, who's car did you put them on to test this theory
  18. No it doesn't touch the transmission. Unless you include removing the clutch fluid reservoir and Tee-ing it into the brake reservoir instead.
  19. Ah, OK. I guess we all know the answer to that
  20. Chris - just out of interest, do you know why they configure the brake lights like that? Absolutely no idea I'm sure Harty and Rob can manage it .... Just make sure Mat's there too with a green goddess That joke wearing a little thin yet ?
  21. Hmmm - Am i the only one who hasn't the first clue what this is about
  22. And this surprises you ?? :arrrggg-matey: A-O-Hell
  23. You might wanna think about joining 'Gold' if you're looking at buying this stuff
  24. The bottom of the front screen is heated - along where the wipers are. Maybe that's what turned the chip into a split ..
