  1. So, Mark, speaking hypothetically ... Who would you deal with if in the market for an air filter "Goosey manages to turn his gold discount into double-price in one attempt "
  2. Maybe get round it like this ... If regulations apply for type approval, IS300 as factory supplied will pass. Styling kit is NOT factory fitted - it's added by Toyota GB in the UK. So... could be considered an aftermarket accessory ... Is it then still subject to red tape ? If i remember correctly, the TTE (or 'styling kit') front bumper is available with or without provision for headlamp washers. The 'without' option was introduced because the edges of the holes for the washers were being damaged by washer fluid or something. :iraqi-info-minister:
  3. Not immediately - no. the front was lower - slightly - the back looked no different. but - after a 220 mile drive, and three days sat in a car park, it settled down a fair bit - and the drop is now noticeable. Hmmm - wonder if this is the 3 days it took for your suspension bushes to tear themselves to shreds as they settled in their new resting position ?? D'ya know if everything was tightened up with the wheels hanging or on the ground ?
  4. Maybe the supplier of their (shoddy) wheels also supplies the clutches + flywheels
  5. beholder or 'beerholder' ... Sadly i believe the latter to be the case far too often :yack: :shutit:
  6. Well i hope you stopped and apologised and swapped insurance details ... Can't bear those to55ers who bump into things and just drive off :D
  7. And definitely NO truth in the rumour Sammy tipped them off :D
  8. Congrats mate. I think your drivers seat must be different. Mine wouldn't go high enough for you to see out :iraqi-info-minister:
  9. The judder i have is noticed mostly in slow or stop / start traffic. You know, where you're edging forward ... on idle maybe or close to it ... Approaching lights or r/bout or parking... as clutch is up + down a bit. Done it from new and had a clutch replacement around 10k miles. That was about a year (14k miles) ago and it still juddered. Yesterday had another clutch ( + flywheel + slave cylinder too this time ) So far... so bad Still get a judder. In fact, i moved the car about 6 feet when collecting it. Then got back out to inform the technician it's worse than before ... Poor chap must be despairing. Dunno why but i feel kinda guilty I did give him a very exclusive LOC embroidered polo shirt though B) So, what next ? Sometimes get grumbly bearing noise at idle after a thrash around. Kind of noise that would make you walk away if on a car you were looking to buy. Noise goes when clutch pedal depressed ( no i don't mean clutch feeling a little sad :duh: ) That says to me ... HELLO, This is your gearbox input bearing SHOUTING :shutit: Could this be a clue ? I try not to diagnose the problem for the dealer. I'd rather say 'it has a judder' than 'clutch is juddery' in case it isn't the clutch. They can replace engine / clutch / gearbox / prop / diff / shafts etc etc. I really don't care, i just want my car NOT to judder I know some dealers (and Lexus) have been known to say 'they all do it'. Not true. We've had 3 IS200's in the family and only this one does it. Also driven several @ openroad + loan cars including IS200 sport yesterday. None of those did it either so something is definitely not quite right. This is by far the most expensive and 'exclusive' car i have ever bought. Yet it seems to have the most problems - judder, crap wheels, crap paint, creaks. Ooh, now i've done it - pass me the prozac
  10. Schade = 'harm' or 'to damage' or .... 'pity' ... AHA .. the last one'll be it ... :P
  11. Good frequency choice - was that by luck or design ? The jpn import cars should get it even without a band expander. Now they'll have a choice of JAE or Radio 2 :P
  12. Oh brother - here we go again :duh: Perhaps this will help explain things ... http://www.theinformationminister.com/pres...hp?ID=612171359
  13. HIPY PAPY BTHUTHDTH THUTHDA BTHUTHDY :duh: As our good friend Pooh would say ... Oh and Happy Birthday Lyn from me too :D
  14. I did mine with dk blue smoothrite too ... Not as dark as the tin indicates unfortunately ... Oh well, it'll do as undercoat for satin black instead if i can be ar5ed :duh:
  15. I luv all those great smileys / emocions .. whatever they are ... They almost compensate for the ever increasing years Happy Birthday mate .. Got a nice day for it anyway :D
  16. Not being one to spread gossip... Oh alright then... As i understand it, Dragon Autosport ceased trading ... From the ashes rose Nemesis + GBH Motorsport. Goosey gossip disclaimer. I don't really know any of the companies involved. So if this isn't accurate i apologise... Tell me and i'll edit / delete this post. Just please don't sue my sorry asss :shutit:
  17. The details are in the back of the 2001 (and later i assume) owners handbook. There's make, model, EU approval etc for alarm, immob + motion sensor. I also have a 2000 handbook and they're not in that one ...
  18. I wouldn't recommend it yet ... Have a browse of this ... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...t=6240&hl=hutch Still too flakey imo at the mo ...
  19. Because if we did, we'd be just as shallow as the rest of the MaxyP brigade :P I'll take half a dozen of those please Me, shallow ....... too bloody right
  20. thought a Q plate was a kit car? I think a Q plate is issued when the age of a vehicle cannot be determined. Even with a kit car, if the vast majority of parts are from a single donor vehicle, the plate of that vehicle can be retained. Obviously if the kit car is almost exclusively new parts, it'll get a new reg.
  21. I think of those of us who have them, mine's probably the least otherwise modded. Nothing else performance wise at all in fact :) Just rest assured you won't be disappointed. You will however get used to it and wonder if it's working properly :duh:
  22. Zee m8 :zee: ... They'll be at JAE if you wanna chat to them. Good news... it seems that rear spoiler isn't a permanent fixture... Well i guess it was the 'MaxyP' show so needed to look the part :yack: To be replaced with something a little more suitable apparently B)
  23. WOW - thanx Gord ... I'll take the lot I should be home this eve i think, so could get them delivered then
