G3 + G10 are from 'Farecla'. G3 is the fiercer of the 2 Should be available from most motor factors. Got some in me shed :P If you use a compounding mop (G-mop), keep it wet to avoid burning the paint.

Maybe the boot springs are being pushed into contact with the speaker / connectors ??

Toyotas mostly have a diagnostic socket with a flip up lid in the engine bay. Inside the lid there's normally a label showing which pins are which. Joining T+E1 with a link wire typically flashes error codes on a light in the dash. On the IS200, these 'pins' aren't present in the diagnostic socket. Codes are read using a tester plugged in under the dash instead. Not sure if something can be fiddled under there or not. Altezza may differ from IS200 ??
