  1. Clutch assembly replaced around 11k miles to fix judder. Clutch assembly + flywheel + slave cylinder replaced around 24k miles to fix judder. Clutch assembly + flywheel replaced around 32k miles to fix judder. And 3rd time lucky it's finally fixed. Fingers crossed it stays that way
  2. You mean the JL ones ? or something like that ? I think that's some kind of japanese type approval.
  3. Seem to remember there were also some 'Artec' boxes around the place. 'Speedline' also produce some of them. Could only find TTE markings on those nice expensive 19" 3 piece rims though
  4. Gerhard ... I've got 2 spare sets of shox + springs from my IS200 SE saloon. Set 1) Covered 10k miles on my car then replaced with set 2 below. Just shox + springs. I used the topmounts, rubbers etc to assemble a TTE kit. Set 2) From a 2002 UK 'sport' so slightly lower springs. Complete assembled shock / sping units - the ones TTE took off my car. Covered 25k miles in total. Replaced with TTE kit... as you know B) The shocks on these 2 sets have the same respective part numbers. Just the springs have different colour dots to tell them apart. Let me know if they are any use to you.
  5. Heavens - shouldn't your drivers licence have expired by now ? Buon Compleanno my friend ... Is this your official birthday or a proper one
  6. Did you know Poole has the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world ? . . . . . . . . . . Steve is there room for anyone else once you moor up your barge ? :duh: Hate to disappoint
  7. If only it were that simple ... Most Lexus dealers won't have their own repair facilities so sub the work out. They have 'approved' repairers in a similar fashion to the insurers. Pre agreed labour rates, certain facilities, this or that brand of paint etc etc. Might find Lexus 'approved' repairer also on insurers 'approved' list - worth asking. Knowing a skilled repairer is better than any amount of tick box 'approvals'.
  8. No need for that anymore. It's now the duty of every worker to give money to other peoples newborns through the tax system. Then later, the same workers pay the same kids just to attend school Once again, tax system fully loaded against workers who provide for themselves and don't want kids Anyway, veering back on topic briefly ... Stick to the basics Stu... Zorst + K+N filter should pretty much swallow your budget.
  9. Recaro half leather baby seat :D
  10. I've got one of these in my lounge.... Pukka model of an IS.... Every home should have one B) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=4209237791 Just to clear any confusion, i'm not the seller... I's me bruvver :duh: OK, perhaps a bit of obvious bias, but that aside, these autoart models really are the mutts nutz - soooo detailed B)
  11. It's your choice where the car gets fixed - that's the law !! But... the insurers can try to persuade you to someone they have a 'deal' with.. The 'deal' typically means ticks in boxes ... cheap labour rate (tick) repair parts cheaply not replace (tick) provide courtesy car at no cost to insurer (tick) Got soopa doopa hight tech buzzwordy kit (tick) Employees who know how to paint (errrr, we may have had one at some point). and so on.... I don't think there's a tick box about quality of workmanship. In fact, probably a clause about 'condition may not be entirely restored'. I call that the 'we reserve the right to do a crap job clause' But as i said, it's YOUR choice where your car gets fixed. Looking at the pics, hope the B post and sill haven't been bent and need pulling. Bad luck mate - Nasty business ... But at the end of the day it's just a car and nobody hurt ?? Ahem, whiplash :duh:
  12. Sounds that way doesn't it :D I think it's probably ok if you use it 'as is' and don't keep messing with it
  13. The answer to your question is both really. Depends what you mean by shox + struts. Yes of course they have shox, would be a bouncy ride if they didn't. Yes i guess they are like struts - ie. spring mounted over the shock body (coilover).
  14. Definitely supply your own oil - you'll save £30+ by doing so. Any decent quality oil should do... For no particular reason, I bought Duckhams Q (formerly QXR) - about 15quid. Contrast that with £50+ for whatever el-cheapo sludge is at the dealers. Of course what they don't tell you is they only pay a few pence per litre for it
  15. Have a great time you guys.... And someone be sure to hitch onto mats bumper at karting . . PS - The banana shakes are nicer than the blueberry ones ( oooh - fighting talk )
  16. Of course you mean 110Kph not mph don't you... cough ;)
