  1. It depends on how you drive. If you participate in regular 'traffic light grand prix's' then it will wear out quicker than if you drive like Zee :D ....... :zee:

There are no definate figures on clutch life, it's a case of wait and see. You can tell your cluch plate is on it's way out when it starts slipping. A symptom of this is when you accelerate (you will see this more under heavy loading) and the revs increase and your speed does not. Try pulling off from standstill and only releasing the clutch peddle half way, this is what a slipping clutch would be like.

  2. I have a free Japfest ticket for this Saturday if anyone wants it. It is for one person only.

Unfortunately I have been double booked, I am going to the CSMA classic racing festival at Brands Hatch instead. I got the tickets months ago and totally forgot like a fool :iraqi-info-minister:

PM me sharpish and I will send it out first class post so you should get it for the weekend.

    Cheers guys

  3. I have only ever had the problem once Fargo, there were 4 passengers and a boot full of wine and beer from a booze cruise. It was also set pretty low, and if I had thought about it before, I would have raised the car a bit. This is never a problem in normal use and even with 4 passengers it doesnt catch unless there is a particularly bad speedhump.

The handling difference is amazing though, I really couldn't believe it.

  4. id suggest for your requirements and costs, the TTE coilovers, there is nothing at all wrong with these coilovers, any problems with passengers in the back, will be the same with any coilover...........

TTE coilovers are made by bilstein.........a very good manufacturer

I love the TTE coilovers and they suit my requirements perfectly (looks and improved road handling) but as I said in a previous post, I wouldn't recommend them if you frequently carry heavy loads and a car full of passengers, as they have no damping rate adjustment. This is the advantage the HKS Hiper's have, so you could wind them up to give a really firm ride when you have a car full, and stop the car bottoming out on bumpy roads. I suppose you could raise the car when you are expecting full load, but that defeats the point of coilovers :D

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the TTE coilovers though, I couldn't believe the difference they made to an already brilliant handling car.

  5. It depends how low you want to go, and what you want them for.

If you want an improvement in handling and just want to get rid of the arch gap, go for lowering springs.

If you want a big improvement in handling for road use and a big drop, go for TTE coilovers which are only height adjustable with a firm but comfortable ride. (there was still 25-30mm of adjustment to go in the picture)

If you want a big improvement in handling for road and track use and a big drop, go for HKS coilovers which are damping rate and height adjustable.

BUT - if you want to go low and often carry back seat passengers and/or a boot full of stuff don't go for the TTE coilovers. I have only had passengers in the back once and a bootful of stuff and it was catching the exhaust on normal roads!!!
