Thanks for the help guys :duh: :duh: :duh:
I think I will go for some standard 17's :D :D :D
-
my sept 2002 has the no. 13906 (never noticed it before)
also an se model
maybe the s model which only has 6 speakers benefits from not having the two way rear speakers
Yeah, thats what I was thinking Bazza <_<

Having sold my styling kit 18" wheels this week, I need to find some new wheels. I have narrowed it down to 2 different wheels, TOMs Violent or Mille Miglia Uno's. I think I prefer the TOMs rims but I want to know what you guys think.........
-
Hmmmmmmmmm. Why would a 02 IS have a 13906 stereo and a 03 have a 13905 ?<_< <_< <_<
UNLESS, it is down to the 'S' only having a 6 speaker stereo system as opposed to the SE and Sport having 8........... <_< <_< <_<

Mine plays any copied cd's, I have never had one fail

This is what I was talking about Si Skippy:) :)
I think they look pretty cool B)

Glad to hear you are happy with your motor Craig :)
I would guess the rattling you can hear is either from the boot raising springs or the anti-cabin pressurising flaps.
The spring rattling problem (these are the two metal bars that are just behind the 6x9s in the boot) can be solved by wrapping some tape around where they touch each other. The flaps (these are down either side of the boot, near where the jack sits) are more tricky to sort out. You can either block them up (which pressurises the cabin when you close a door ) or wedge them open. Wedging them open would possibly let moisture in though, so I dont know what to suggest for the best really...
Have you got the HKS really warm yet? It sounds very nice when it is warm. The thing I like about the Dragger is that it is quiet on the motorway......

I took my car into Lexus Leicester tonight for them to investigate the mysterious rumbling from the back of my car, and I got a brand new 03 (2 miles on the clock!) IS200 S to drive around in. I was playing around with the stereo on the way home, changed all the settings to what I have in my car (bass +5, mid +2, treble 0) and It sounded totally different to mine. The ammount of bass put mine to shame, it sounded more like the old bottom loading cd stereos found on the pre - 01 cars. The model number of the stereo (found above the txt button) is 13905, is this a new model they have inroduced or is it the same as the post - 01 cars like mine? (I cant remember the model number of my stereo )
Has anyone else driven an 03 IS that can comment on this so I can prove wether I am imagining it?? ;)

You dont have to resort to butchery Si :D
The round clips just slide off the prongs on the badge. It can be a bit fiddly but trust me they do come off <_<

Was a good night.
Andy - was nice to meet you again bud - pm me with exactly what you are trying to do with your wheels, and I'll see if any of the US guys can help you out (mad drop mate - just insane )
JB / Zee / Ifraz / Mat / Simon - good to meet you (see you next week JB ;) )
Chris / Alex - nice to meet you guys, sorry I never got a chance to have a word :( - next time!
Cheers Mat, I will let you know what I wanna do with the wheels........ <_< <_<

No its definately a 45mm offset on the IS Chris, the MK1 GS has a 50mm offset (not sure about the MK2 GS)
-
There is a good explanation of what wheel offset is HERE, and the correct offset for the MK1 GS300 is ET50 :)

white...........rare as a dodo B)
Rare as a dodo, dirty as Ms Aguilera :D :D :D

I like most of the colours to be honest, I think its personal taste. Sport over SE - a large number of differences including but not limited to rear lip spoiler, tinted rear windows, alloy scuff plates/pedals etc and loads of other things......
you also get a different coloured steering wheel (black + grey)
Most people with SE's end up putting the shiny bits from the sport on anyway, its whether you think you need the LSD and lowered/slightly stiffer suspension.........
PS blue is the only colour to have :P

If my memory serves me right, at Gaydon last year, Dave, Rod, Chris and I tried the diagnostic menu in Rodders GS, and there was no way of altering this. I think that was the older CD ROM Sat Nav though am I right Dave/Rod??
I think the diagnostic menu is accesed differently on the DVD Sat Nav systems........

Sorry- but i was dissapointed with the whole event. Might as well have had it at the local BK.
We were the first to arrive, that is my wife and two guests. Seven cars in all turned up, we stood around and have a look under some bonnets and in some boots, one of my guests was spoken to quite roodly for asking about the legal requirement of a spare tyre instead of a sub-woofer!
We then decided to go and have a look around the Museum (i thought that was why this site was chosen) and when we came out- everyone had dissapeared, not even a note to say where they had gone. We decided to have a bite to eat and then head home and luckiliy we found most of the members at the service station having a BK. We sat down to eat our and everyone got up and left, walked right by us-charming!
Firstly, I don't want to get into a slanging match about this, but I feel your critisism of the meet is unjustified Wallace. I appologise if I walked past you in Burger King, but to be honest I wouldn't have recognised you as you never introduced yourself!
When we made the decision to go up to the race track and watch the track day, we told everyone that was present. I had no idea that you had gone into the museum, or I would have told you. Maybe if you had left a note saying where you had gone, I would have. I agree it may not be everyone's cup of tea to stand around and talk about modifications etc., but that is what a lot of members enjoy doing. I personally had no intention of visiting the museum.
Maybe like other members have suggested, there needs to be more clarification on what type of meet it is.

No problem bud :)
A good day had by all :) :)
The best track car of the day was a toss up between the 2 Nobles and the white Civic Type-R B) B) B)

It says that the ballasts/ecu's are included with this auction, so it might be worth a look......
I am unsure if they can be adjusted to dip to the left for UK cars though???
I wonder if part number gurus Chris or Gordy can find out if the LHD and RHD HID units have the same part number????? :D
-
You would also need to have the ballast/ignitor box to make the HID's work, so check it comes with this. Its not just a case of wiring the existing headlamp feed to a HID lamp. Also, legally, you should have an auto light levelling system fitted with HID's but it is up to you wether you fit one.......

The only reservation I have about this conversion is that I hope when the boot lid is open, it does not 'rock about' if you get my drift. There obviously has to be some sort of pivot, so I cannot see from the pictures how you would stop it rocking when the boot lid was opened <_<
