Anyone coming down from oop North want to meet up around J28 M1????
-
Get it booked into a dealer sharpish Tony, they will replace it under warranty :)

This topic has been discussed HERE before, and although the other topic is about the IS200 calipers, It is obviously the same problem. I believe the GS rear calipers are the same as the IS200 anyway.

Pre 01 cars (and six speaker IS200 S's) have a much nicer sounding stereo than the later IS's. Unfortunately these also are known for the annoying err3 problem where the discs jamm inside them. Can't have everthing I suppose
-
Whats your point Steve? Is my rhyming not good enough for a place then? :D
-
Two common IS faults I am afraid mate :(
I think you have shot it on both counts as your car is out of warranty. The alloys are made from some sort of soft cheese and they can corrode inside 3 months! The stereo was superceded by a new model in 2001 with a top loading cd slot instead of a bottom one which rectifies this err3 fault (but loses the great sound of the early stereo)
Maybe Chris or Nick can comment on the warranty situation> :)

I have Toyo's on at the moment and I am happy with them, the only thing that put doubt in my mind was some fool that I rang today from a tyre company in Derby. He said Eagle F1's are the best tyre ever etc etc and basically said Toyo's were crap.
His reason for Toyo's being crap? (apart from him not selling them ;) )
"Toyo's are cheap tyres and very soft rubber. All tyres with soft rubber are cheap quality because soft rubber is cheaper to produce"
-
Selectatyre do it mate
When I had my last tyres fitted, it said 'nitrofill' on the invoice and I wondered what the h e l l it was at first :D

Hi guys, I have got to order some new tyres, 2x 225/40/18's and 2x 255/35/18's
I have got prices from www.mytyres.net and I have narrowed it down to Toyo Proxes T1s or Goodyear Eagle F1's.
The Toyo's come in at £490 and the Goodyears at £580
Is it worth the extra £90 for the Eagle F1's???
Any comments appreciated :)

It's Wednesday you goon :D :D :D

When I asked my dealer Ifraz, they said it was not possible :(
Maybe Chris or Nick could clear this up??

Hi Ulf, welcome to the club :)
If the RX300 is like the IS200, then the Lexus Navigator system cannot be fitted after, it is factory fit only :(
You could try aftermarket Sat-Nav systems though, there are plenty around from the likes of Alpine, Garmin, Blaupunkt and Panasonic. To do this you would probably need to obtain a facia plate adaptor for a standard DIN head unit.
Your best bet is to go to your local car stereo dealer (I dont know of any in Sweden off the top of my head ) and ask his advice on which sat nav system would suit you most :)

Mine look like that, I have done 18.5K, not taken it up with dealer yet.
-
The first bit refers to the width of the tyre in milimetres.
The second bit is the aspect ratio of the tyre wall to the tyre width, NOT a measurement in millimetres.
The third bit is the rim diameter in inches just to confuse matters.
Hope this helps :)

Well it says 'long lasting finish, with a brilliant shine' Steve, what more do you want?? :duh:

I have heard good things about this Mat

Hi Duncan, I had the TTE coilovers fitted at RTEC in Hatfield at the beginning of February, and they definately drop more than 50mm. I had the Lexus styling kit 18" wheels on mine and with 15mm adjustment still to go on the coilovers, the rear arches were sat halfway down the tyre.
BUT....When I had the car dropped that low, I was getting a vibration from the rear somewhere when the transmission was under heavy load. I have since put a borrowed set of 17" standard rims on and raised the car about 20mm and the vibration has stopped. I dont know if the vibration was down to the wheels, the drop, or a combination of both. Having said that, the car handles brilliantly now and the ride has not suffered too much.
Some of the other guys have fitted HKS coilovers and they seem very impressed with them.
-
Congratulations mate, there is nothing like the feeling of picking up your new motor B) B) B)
-
Yes you would as long as the rim is wide enough for a 245 tyre Craig. What rims are you running on? If they are standard 17" Lexus rims, 245 seems very wide for a 7.0jx17 rim........... ;)
