2002 LS430 rear parking sensors part numbers
steve2006 replied to DMNEL's topic in Engine & Transmission
It looks like there are different types for the centre section and sides, there are some on Fleabay claiming to be “ genuine” but the provided part number doesn’t exist. Found these on Amazon but again duff part numbers and only lists 2003-2006 facelift models. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultrasonic-Reverse-Parking-89341-50011-8934150011B0/dp/B018TR4KHE Give LexusPartsDirect a call they will help you with part numbers and supply. -
Is200t vacuum regulation valve
steve2006 replied to P jones's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hi Phillip and welcome to the LOC. Could you elaborate a little more on the “faulty valve” Was it a genuine replacement and who fitted it? -
Hi David and welcome to the LOC. You don’t have to own a Lexus to be part of this club 😀 Good choice with the LS models, I now have 2 Japanese imports, a 1994 LS400 and a 2004 model year LS430 both badged as Toyota Celsiors. Finding a good LS400 is getting harder by the day especially the pre 1997 models but take your time and you’ll find a good one of either.

I bought a set of these, nice quality and big enough for the job. I also tested mine, not detected at all even stood by the driver’s side door handle. On mine there is a switch to turn off the “Smart” system under the driver’s side dash but it goes on to mention the remote system can be turned off but to “contact your dealer”. Bit of a retrograde step in that my 1994 Celsior has a simple slide switch for the remote on/off function. Hopefully “As seen on TV” doesn’t mean on the Crime watch programme 😀

Wet carpets under front driver and passenger
steve2006 replied to dotmatrix's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hello AJ and welcome to the LOC. Having looks for the AC condenser drain I cannot see one on the exploded parts list or in the listing as shown below. Normally this pipe if blocked or disconnected would result in the foot wells getting wet but you mention it is under the front seats? There are also sun roof drains but these tend to be routed down either the A or C pillars to exit under the car. Have you checked the sunroof is fully closed and sealed? Have you also checked the engine coolant level to see if it is dropping at all? -
I pulled the internal boot release lever and something fell off, looked on the floor to find the plastic cover had split into 2 pieces. Not a problem I’ll simply glue it back together with my “Industrial Strength Superglue”. Left it overnight with 2 clothes pegs clamping it together and this morning went out to slide it back on only to find it fell into 2 bits again. So much for the stupid glue, fingers stuck together no problem, plastic parts useless! Now on attempt No.2 using Araldite Rapid. I thought worst scenario is a new cover but no Lexus only sell the complete panel plastics and not just the cover for a mere £107.00! Grey insulating tape if attempt 2 still fails. Finally if your mind started wondering on the topic title wash your head out with Toyota Type IV 😀

Let’s be honest the major supermarkets now sell almost everything, not just food stuffs but insurance, bank loans, foreign currency ( OK maybe not at the moment!) but what if they made and sold cars. We obviously have the mainstream supermarkets but then have the likes of Waitrose up to Fortnum and Masons. So how would a supermarket “own brand” car be, I’ll start it off with a “Tesco’s Basics car” nothing fancy but does the job. 😀

There is a good chance given the mileage that the O2 sensor is on its way out however the exhaust leak may also be contributing. Unless you have live data capabilities to confirm 100% repair the exhaust, replace the O2 sensor with a genuine part and reset the codes.

GS300 duff catalytic converter replacement
steve2006 replied to DURGAR's topic in Engine & Transmission
Hi James and welcome to the LOC. Take a look at the link below, although the top selection says up to 2001 it is the same part for yours, stainless steel and 2 year warranty. https://www.cats2u.co.uk/3298-30 For the O2 sensor I would go OEM, link below but check carefully from counterfeit ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-LAMBDA-OXYGEN-SENSOR-TOYOTA-AVENSIS-LEXUS-GS-300-430-1997-2011-/402595221395?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&customid=EAIaIQobChMIs6Kaor-M8QIV9QUGAB0Wew5fEAQYBSABEgIUcvD_BwE A few gaskets in addition plus a couple of hours labour should halve your costs. -
nav not working
steve2006 replied to J01's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
Fuse 1 (TEL) feeds the “Stereo Component Tuner” so you either have a fault on the supply wiring to this resulting in the fuse blowing or the tuner itself. You could unplug the tuner unit, replace the fuse again and then see if the fuse continues to blow. -

Hi James and welcome to the LOC. Which fuse did you replace, it should tell you on the cover. -
New Noise coming from my SC430 steering column
steve2006 replied to Alan E's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
Spot on Phil, once again Lexus go OTT on a synchronous motor when a straight 12 Volts DC and a gear cog would have sufficed....must admit though they are super quiet in operation. Worse thing to do is put any extra pressure on the motors during the movement of the steering wheel. -
Hi Neil and welcome to the LOC. Yes they will fit straight on, if any spigot rings are fitted to adjust the centre bore just make sure these get refitted too, also many aftermarket wheels use tapered nuts so check this as well. Wheel nut torque is 76 lbft. If the tyres are directional make sure they are fitted on the correct side of the car. Post up a picture of the Soarer if you wish, it’s nice to see them these days.
