New is250 se-l owner...
steve2006 replied to GMG's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hello Giles and welcome to the LOC. That looks in fantastic condition and 45,000 miles is really nothing for these cars, spark plugs have probably been replaced based on age not mileage and if they are iridium good for 60,000 miles. How did you find the car, must have been a friend or family tip off? I recently got myself a very nice 2003 from a fellow member. -
EGR Discussion
steve2006 replied to Aaron G's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
I own a 1994 JDM Celsior and as Malc mentions there is no EGR system fitted as there is no requirement in Japan and performance is the same (well apparently 1 BHP better). No broken EGR concertina pipes to worry about. -
I suppose it could be faulty manufacturing, anyone’s guess these days where the stuff is made! Hopefully covered by some sort of warranty given the age and mileage done on it.

Auto Windows
steve2006 replied to Martynt74's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
They are all normally one touch “All Auto” so press and release should raise/lower the windows fully. There are personalisation settings but nothing mention about the windows, anything in your handbook? https://www.lexus.com/documents/brochures/service/my19/19NX-300_CST_NAV.pdf Try as Luigi suggests all the way down and hold the button for 5 seconds after then back up fully and hold again 5 seconds all from driver’s switch panel. -
If you want to fill the arches either 225/55/17 or 235/50/17 tyres with the correct load index and speed ratings, expect to pay in excess of £100.00 per corner for premium brands. Also check the centre bore size of the wheels, Lexus has 60.1mm anything smaller will not fit the hub and anything larger can be reduced with a set of spigot rings for around a fiver. Also check the type of wheel nuts required as most aftermarket wheels use tapered nuts whereas Lexus wheels use sleeved nuts. Using the incorrect type could damage the wheels or the wheel could become loose.

I did but the First Aid kit had expired, no coins either but I did find a half eaten stick of rock from Cleethorpes after removing the bottom seat cushion. I also did a history check which was a bit vague but given the stick of rock and the “We Love Skegness” sticker in the window I assume it has always been local trips.

Hi Soupy and welcome to the LOC. You need to change your search engine...google came up with this which shows all models including the S180, 200 and 210 up to 2018 when production ceased. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Crown_Majesta

Mine is now 27 years old and AC is still working fine, was checked around 8 years ago but told it was OK. Left on all the time and pollen filter replaced 3 times during my ownership of 16 years.

That “new ignition coils” doesn’t look new, if you look at the seller’s feedback you can almost see what’s been ordered and fitted....all aftermarket? I wonder what attacked the firewall insulation? Lots of money spent on his short ownership, wonder if the heated seats still work. Trouble is the work has already been done Paul and now it’s 3 times the price.

Advice pls
steve2006 replied to Pushu's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
As it is a motor dealer selling the car you immediately have consumer law protection under the Consumer Rights Act. The car will have a new MOT as it runs out mid July, getting a “dodgy” test these days is not easy, you can then check any advisories again before purchase. Motoring organisations offer vehicle purchase checks starting around £100.00 if you don’t have someone experienced to take with you. To be fair the car looks good for its age, mileage is consistent on the MOT and just 2 previous owners. You could also take the car to Lexus immediately after purchase for a “Health Check.” Not sure what the hybrid warranty is these days but worth having the system checked. -
It sounds like a train on a tight radius curve! Certainly sounds like metal to metal contact, I assume the brake pads are all good and not worn down to the backplates? If possible get the rear wheels off the ground and turn them by hand to see if the noise appears. I would certainly get it looked at asap.

Lexus Club discount card- Acceptance

Exactly...that’ll be broken wires and open circuits everywhere ! 😀 -
Spotted on fleabay but looks fairly decent for a late LS400 with FLSH and looks like someone made an effort to present it. Only strange thing is both rear upper arms went from a fail to advisories on MOT, possibly fitted used parts? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164935497822?hash=item2666ebf85e:g:Q88AAOSwUtZg2yNG

You had a French tyre fitted on a Japanese car....won’t that result in electrical problems 😀
