  1. It sounds like you still have a leak, if you have paid the guy who did the job take it back there and ask him to test the system for leaks and repair as necessary before refilling with a CFC or find someone who can do the job correctly.
  2. Ours should be neat piles of ferrous oxide by now Malc. 😀
  3. According to Amayama the rear subframe is no longer available and had it still been the cost is probably half the value of the car without all the other parts needed to replace it. Getting hold of a decent secondhand one may also prove difficult and even that could require some remedial work before fitting. I appreciate that rust prevention has moved on since the BL rot boxes of the 1970s but a premium brand manufactured in the mid 2000s with terminal chassis rot makes me wonder if these cars are designed for a maximum lifespan.
  4. I think technology has finally overtaken my knowledge......the days of oiling a seized up speedometer drive cable have long gone 😀
  5. Have you tried the “standard” wheel nut wrench on it to see if you can loosen it? There are ways and means to removing locking nuts without the key 😀
  6. Sorry my stock level is now depleted on wings, bumpers and window glass is all that’s left for series III in “The Shed”
  7. Never had lacquer peel on mine but the roof looked like it had been attacked by a group of feral cats, appeared scratched all over. Took it to my usual body shop and had it re-sprayed along with the boot lid as it had a few scratches also. It cost me a grand which I know I’ll never recover but the car owes me nothing after 15 years of ownership.
  8. Just had another look at “CarsfromJapan” https://carfromjapan.com/cheap-used-toyota-celsior-for-sale?minYear=1990&maxYear=1994 They only have 4 on sale between 1990-1994, the first one is very similar but only 9000kms at $16,665 (£12,000) shipped to Bristol. As the car is less than 30 years old add 10% duty £13,200 and then 20% VAT £2640.00 totalling £15,840. Throw in another £500.00 for other admin charges, MOT, registration and we’re at £16,340 for a car unseen in the metal until it gets here, no guarantee of paperwork regarding service history and major headaches if it isn’t as described. £17,000 for a UK spec model with FLSH and your consumer rights intact now sounds like a bargain perhaps.
  9. Hi David and welcome to the LOC. Your “old” Sportcross is still newer compared to my 1994 and 2004 LS400/430 models 😀
  10. I did a double take on the picture, mistakenly thought they were BMWs 😀😀😀
  11. Mike you won’t be laughing when you start getting 10 emails a day from them and all the other companies they have passed your details on to, they’re like flies around a jam jar.
  12. Hi James and welcome to the LOC. Genuine from Lexus is shown below, aftermarket available from fleabay as per the link. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=16604-31010&_sacat=0
  13. I wasn’t wrong, here we go again. 😀😀😀 Also noticed this guy is a bit of a motor dealer looking at the dubious feedback! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353608613495?hash=item5254b73e77:g:bJkAAOSwGJlhC9AD
  14. Hi Gianni, Sorry only just seen your post. Looking at the exploded diagrams for both models they appear to be exactly the same so the Japspeed would be OK.
  15. Lexus dealer have recently moved from service contracts/packages to a new system which may explain the situation you are undergoing at the moment.
  16. Hopefully by now Piers you have been scanned without too much distress and no doubt you have been told nothing regarding the results until they have been scrutinised by the radiologist. When you do get the results I hope it is good news for you 😀
  17. I fitted a couple of rear KYBs to my 1994 LS400, the rear does sit slightly higher but ride quality is the same.
  18. Good question regarding the insurance John 2 I was asked if the car had been “modified” when I took my new policy out. Regarding the speed signal location this may help. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/925413-vss-speed-sensor-tap-location.html
  19. Given the Lexus UK price will add another £200.00 on the part price shown I think £75.00 fitted is going to be a bargain 😀
  20. I think the recorded delivery rejection letter would have been sent by now, car taken back to the lot and keys through the letterbox.
  21. Personally I wouldn’t put anything foreign in my coolant, particularly so from an eBay seller. Given the radiator is showing signs and the age I would be considering a replacement is due, with very small seepage even a pressure test is unlikely to show the exact spot.
  22. Had that issue recently Colin, had the wheels refurbished and needed the strong bar to get them loosened off, certainly well over torqued!
  23. The problem with the “How to” guides is being investigated by admin so should hopefully be sorted soon. Part number for the sensor is 89422-30030, these are on “special offer” at LPD albeit priced at £70.00.
  24. Wheel nut torque is normally 76lb/ft for Lexus wheels, the handbook will confirm this figure.
  25. It fetched £5000.00 this time...a little more realistic but given the storage conditions still dubious, we’ll find out in a few days no doubt.
