  1. I know it’s illegal to simply vent refrigerant gas to the atmosphere ( and indeed somewhat dangerous). I also believe that AC work is required to be carried out only by registered operators to ensure the job is done properly i.e. the system is thoroughly checked for leaks both visually and a nitrogen/uv dye mix, carry out any required repairs to ensure the system is gas tight, purge and apply a vacuum to confirm and only then recharge the system with the correct type and amount of refrigerant/ oil. My Celsior is still ice cold on AC and never had a recharge in 27 years!
  2. Hi, sorry no idea of your name or other details. Could I please ask that you read and follow the correct format for listing cars for sale on the LOC or your post may be removed.
  3. This link shows the various model comparisons, I assume with the Premium model you get all the base model fittings plus the Premium fitting like 18” wheels instead of 17”. There is also a “Customise my ES” option for paint colour, trim and interior. Like Sam mentioned no F Sport version offered? https://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/es/build/?path=choose-grade/82bb35a9-e41e-4809-bca8-2be543ec22a3/4f326f71-8a10-420a-9b93-a75eb0dd5c82
  4. Fuse number 27 powers the DRLs according to the description so check there first for your power source.
  5. Please no swearing Malc, now edited 😀
  6. Just be careful if they are touching the covers as they still produce some heat which could distort or burn them.
  7. You can buy digital flasher units which eliminates the requirements of ballast resistors but then you have the hassle of climbing under the dash to locate and replace it.
  8. Hi Carl and welcome to the LOC, you duplicated your post so I removed the other one to avoid confusion. Sorry can’t comment on the RX400h other than like all Lexus cars they are good 😀
  9. This covers model years from 2012 https://www.lexus.co.uk/forms/manuals/owners-manual
  10. Hi Catherine and welcome to the LOC. According to the parts descriptions all the bumpers are the same but there are many variations as shown below Top 2015 on, bottom up to 2015.
  11. Not sure if this applies to the RX400h but other models displaying the VSC fault amongst others has been due to a faulty fuel cap gasket. The reason I mention this is because coincidently you had just filled the car with fuel. You also mention the 12V battery is fine but has it been tested on load?
  12. It’s not easy or cheap particularly on a late model. The Japanese GPS unit is completely different to the rest of the world and usually has the Toll Charge system integrated so just replacing the disc with a European one will not work. The radio frequencies are also different and again finding a European replacement will be difficult. The only solution I can suggest is to look for a written off car for the parts you need.
  13. My Celsior is 27 years old, I have owned it since 2006, it is still on the original gas (as far as I know never touched in Japan) and still ice cold.

    Hi!!

Hi Katherine and welcome to the LOC. 😀
  15. When it comes to dealer servicing I have noticed most items are “check” so how are they checked? Visually “The brake pads look OK as they still have some friction material present” or are the pads removed and then measured with a vernier micrometer. What about the parking brake shoes does the drum come off for inspection. From past experience we know Lexus do not remove the calliper slide pins and re-grease them as part of the service hence so many seized callipers. ”Replacements” are generally fluids and filters as required except of course the transmission which is “sealed for life”
  16. It states “inspect spare wheel/spare saver/tyre repair kit ( model dependent)” on the check list the same as the road wheels and tyres so I wonder if they actually check the pressures on any of them. https://l1-movies.lexus-europe.com/media/downloads/GBEN/Lexus - Service Table 0418.pdf Personally I would ask your dealer as tyre inspections and correct pressures on all the tyres are essential. Having said that weekly tyre checks on all tyres should be carried out by the driver according to the owner’s manual.
  17. It may be due to Toyota copyright issues, I have access to the diagrams and full part numbers but this is restricted access with various conditions of use attached. If you go to www.toyodiy.com you can see the full part numbers but no corresponding diagrams just part descriptions..
  18. Taken from the Lexus website. Recently, however, Lexus has made this worldwide phenomenon even more appealing with the launch of a new Advance trim level. Slotting between Luxury and F Sport grades, RX 450h Advance models benefit from a host of unique styling features, such as a deeper front bumper with a stronger rendition of the distinctive spindle grille, darkened 19-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, intelligent-adaptive headlights, and the option of a panoramic glass sunroof that bathes the leather interior in light.
  19. I would send them to this guy for testing first, the last thing you want is the iridium tip coming off in the engine! Warning heavy reading but great on a long haul flight if we could get one. http://koral.ise.pw.edu.pl/~rrom/SPIE/SPIE10159-STL2016Jastarnia/papers/101590T.pdf
  20. Hi Alan and welcome to the LOC. To help find the Traction Control problem you will need to have any fault codes read as this should provide a cause for the TRC light being on. Once you have the code(s) come back with it/them and we can help further, there are some common causes but guessing and replacement is an expensive method. Regarding the coolant loss and overheating do you know where the leak is?
  21. Hi Charlie and welcome to the LOC. These are the specifications for the wheels for the GS300, they need to be 5 stud with a PCD of 114.3mm, centre bore 60.1 ( larger will require spigot rings) and an offset of 45 ( determines how far the wheel sticks in and out). The wheel nuts may also be a different type (usually tapered) on aftermarket wheels. If you are changing wheel diameter the speedometer reading can be affected, there are various online calculation sites to work out the difference. You should also inform your insurance company as it is considered a “modification”
  22. I wonder if all 3 were sold to WBAC.com, too old for Cinch resale so end up at the parent company for auction.
  23. Just noticed the location a couple of miles away from me, think I may arrange a viewing 😀
