The word “corrosion” on the MOT and multiple fails for headlight alignment and wiper blades suggests perhaps a not so caring owner. -
There are 2 clips near the top as listed below, you’ll have to remove the trim to replace them. Once the clips are released it should lift up and pull out.

Just checked and no info on the length, stupid prices on fleabay and ECP when OEM from Lexus are around £2.50 each ( 90942-02070 )

Just filled mine up at the airport........engine start check list please....Parking brake...set, electrics....on.....fuel pumps...on....APU start......Bleed air....on.

Problem is finding a good used one especially LHD. It looks like someone has attempted a repair previously but if all the bits are still there maybe find a company that does “plastic welding.” They prepare the joint and reinforce with wire then add filler plastic before reshaping.

Reminds me of a now frowned upon joke involving two guys from a certain country checking the car’s indicators “They’re on, they’re off, they’re on.” One of them was named after the vet in Emmerdale apparently.

If you know a gas engineer or maybe spot one in the street a cheeky ask may get you some LDF ( Leak Detection Fluid) which bubbles from a leak and is easy to spot. Just spray it on and observe. Or try Screwitfix.

LPD still have a discount on coolants, the cost of 5 single litres of red is still less than one 5 litre bottle.

Amayama generally state if the part is NLA but have been known to stall before admitting they don’t have the part ordered but in desperate times worth trying 😀

Nothing mentioned on the MOT maybe went unnoticed but I agree with your comments here in the UK. The fender pole again is probably illegal having a blue led light on the tip at night but at least it doesn’t flash 😀

Now you have a known good battery fitted turn the ignition on but don’t try and start the engine, leave it like that for 6 minutes, turn the ignition off completely then back on again. The security light should now go out and the engine start.

On the facelift JDM versions and possibly USA models the outer sections are used for turn illumination. At night when you put the indicator on the light on the same side comes on to help you see the corner better as you turn, once the indicator cancels the light also goes out.

Hi Barry and welcome to the LOC. Very rare now especially with just 22,000kms, what did it have at import? I’m guessing V8 and not TT? I now have 2 JDM Celsiors, one 1994 at 96,000 miles owned since 2006 and a 2004 model at 76,000 purchased earlier this year.

Hi Asad and welcome to the LOC. First thing I would do is replace the battery with a new one, if it’s on its way out they can cause a multitude of problems on modern cars. Once replaced there is a procedure to reset the immobiliser system, I would imagine at present the red security light is flashing all the time?

The last thing anyone wants when under a car is for the jack to slip......except on these occasions when you really hope the thing moves or the hydraulic seals fail! As for the CCTV or doorbell evidence apart from putting anything caught on YouTube it’s of little use in actually assisting to catch these toe rags as the police don’t want to know unless the stolen part is seen to be doing 33MPH in a 30MPH limit. If you feel like approaching the scum a shotgun appears to trump their usual weapon of choice, the base ball bat. All you have to wait for now is the inevitable increase in your insurance premium at renewal.

I noticed that too.....roughly translated maybe as “ after 2018 the vehicle had the occasional engine oil and filter change during which time it was thoroughly thrashed until it crashed” 😀 -

Agreed a full HPI check should reveal all the repair details however Cat S would put me off straight away ( pun intended) when you read the damage suffered. An “I don’t know” attitude from a dealer and “repaired at Lexus” ( Do Lexus dealer workshops have body alignment jigs even?) when they should have performed a HPI would also get me nowhere near the forecourt. Add in 4 previous owners, 80,000 miles and no reg to check the MOT history! My advice walk away and keep looking. Cat S write-offs have suffered damage to structural areas of the vehicle such as the chassis or crumple zones -
