  1. 3 things to check Scuttle panel where the wiper spindles come through, check for leaves and debris blocking the drain holes around the spindles which allows water to overflow into the air intakes. Sunroof drains. Heater matrix ( if there is a sweet coolant smell).
  2. Only Lexus could get away with selling a high tensile carbon steel nut and bolt for £15.00, I am presently rebuilding a 1981 Suzuki GSX250 and a 100 piece assorted metric stainless steel nut and bolts set cost less than half that amount. I appreciate the bolts are safety critical but alternatives with the same or better grades are available for a lot less especially when you consider their position, no one will ever see that Lexus logo on them 😀
  3. “The Lexus ES...shaves as close as a blade or your money back” 😀
  4. When it comes to Facebook information and security may as well be on different planets, Alexa is another one why put a device in your house that listens to every word you say, transmits that information to some mega computer then stores that information ready for the hackers.
  5. Apparently if you lower the rear centre armrest you can unzip the cover behind to access the boot and see if the light is on. Or just put your phone in video record mode, stick it in the boot and close it then play it back to see if the light goes out.
  6. Hi Cosmin and welcome to the LOC, looks a nice one, what happened for the cat N tag?
  7. I didn’t realise an account was required until I’d bought it, totally wrong in my opinion.
  8. I use the Oculus Quest 2 headset for VR in my flight simulator which requires a facebook account to use it, I reluctantly opened an account but don’t use it as there are enough companies out there trying to suck every bit of information they can from me already. Recently I got a discount card for Whitbread pub meals “30% off main meals register online.” Name OK, date of birth...Why? Address.....why, mobile number.....why, home phone number.....why? Card cut up and binned! Tesco we know what you’re doing clubcard. Screwfix “ What’s your email address mate” I just want a box of 1.5mm twin and earth cable clips, you don’t need my email and I ain’t your mate. Apparently the complete Facebook system has failed so no access to various websites including oculus .....is this just the beginning of the lights going out I wonder!
  9. Even worse Chip Catchers are not available for them!
  10. Try Paul Frost at Lexus Spares Direct. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/lexussparesdirect?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5336640300&toolid=10001&customid=2061X563690X0486516cdeb968c06664205c1a666d99
  11. Very nice tutorial, freezing the bushing and heating up the sleeve where it fits even with just a hairdryer helps.
  12. Hey Gregory, you’ve lost me here, you’re on the UK website not the .com one. We do have the Nissan 350z over here but the club is Lexus based.
  13. Hi Gregory and welcome to the LOC UK. I’m a little confused as your location is Powys, Wales, UK. but then you mention the cost in USD and Seattle? English consumer law is somewhat different between the UK and USA and geographical locations difficult to recommend when we’re 4000 miles away. Just thought it must be the early hours of the morning too. I would suggest that perhaps the USA LOC www.lexusownersclub.com may provide the information you are presently seeking but you’re more than welcome to stick around with the Brits also 😀 Be interesting to know what Lexus did the first time regarding repairs to the AC, I know parts are generally a lot cheaper in the US compared to the UK and for aftermarket you have rockauto.com. A google search should find you a good independent AC shop. Would your insurance cover the damage repair costs?
  14. What did they put regarding the tyres? The usual remarks are regarding the under tray and engine covers. Just rechecked mine and noticed 7 years without any advisories.
  15. Hi Marcus and welcome to the LOC. If you want OEM Lexus parts take a look at Amayama.com even with shipping and VAT added their prices are generally around 50% of UK prices. Aftermarket try rockauto.com For suspension bushes there are companies like super flex who supply replacement poly bushing kits. We also have a resident Lexus parts supplier on the club who normally give a discount to members and have special offers. Unfortunately if it’s worn ball joints causing the problem these are not replaceable individually so the complete unit (control arm) has to be replaced.
  16. This is weird, maybe 10 years ago I bought a Corgi LS430 and stuck it on a shelf unopened. When I saw this topic I went to find it and was astonished to realise it was the exact same colour as the real car I was fortunate to have recently purchased. Does anyone know if there is a model RC-F I don’t mind waiting 10 years 😀
  17. £140.00, I hope you got the extended warranty and service package included in the price 😀
  18. Cheers, can’t remember seeing it before, looks like a 1990-1994 model, same interior colour as mine, is it for sale? The vibrating mirrors were standard fit, sound like a mouse squeaking when you press the button and you can see the water droplets shaking down, they also electrically fold on the Celsior.
  19. Hi Martin and welcome to the LOC, I didn’t realise we had so many LC500 owners.
  20. Hi Melanie and welcome to the LOC, we have similar tastes in wheels, tint and colour although mine is blue 😀
  21. Hi David and welcome to the LOC, I’ll move your topic to the GS forum as suggested by Sam. Could you elaborate a little on the parts you need? Are you after front or rear upper control arms?
  22. Hi Ben and welcome to the LOC. Pictures are always welcome 😀
  23. Not sure if the IS is similar but on my LS there are drain holes next to the wiper arm spindles. If these get clogged the water collects then overflows into the air intakes.
  24. I can also recommend Furniture Clinic, below is my repair story.
  25. But the number plate is worth at least £10K according to We Buy Any Plate.com 😀
