  1. We have had them in the Riddings, Leabrooks and Somercotes areas for years. Which area are you in Philip?
  2. Hi Dave and welcome to the LOC. I never knew there was a GS460 model, is it the same engine as the LS460?
  3. If you arrive late for pick up at the school apparently the yellow zig zag lines outside the gates are for “emergency parking” and not as I mistakenly believed a prohibited zone.
  4. Are they conventional bulbs on the IS250 Ahmed as the circuit diagram shows LED clusters?
  5. Just looked at the wiring diagram, could you confirm the original Lexus clusters are also LED?
  6. Good morning Aaron, welcome to the LOC and the world of Lexus unreliability sorry reliability. Once you get that new pulley and belt on I’m confident that there will be no further issues so early in your ownership. AS I mentioned the idler pulley bolt is conventional thread direction so anti-clockwise to loosen and remove. The video below shows the belt fitting method.
  7. Yes it is the transmission cooler, it comes as a complete unit as shown with the cooler itself fitted inside the plastic housing. Unfortunately there is no price stated on the parts database.
  8. All I know about LED bulb replacements is they seem to originate in China, they are a crap fit into the holder, they begin to flicker after a month, completely fail in 6 months and cause multi electrical problems. At least with candles you can trim the wick and see when they need replacing 😀
  9. “Shed of the week” maybe, this looks like a candidate for the valeting guy on YouTube who cleans cars used as mobile skips. https://tinyurl.com/35upmtnv
  10. This is interesting.....looks low on rear end and no MOT ? https://tinyurl.com/basv75u2
  11. Buyer arrived spot on time, purchased car which then broke down on way home!
  12. Lexus reliability......you own one for over 15 years with no major problems, sell it and then get a call 2 hours later because it’s broken down on the M25 with a broken idler pulley and snapped belt.
  13. It’s a LPG powered BBQ that can travel at high speed sideways on a racetrack, the next event is being held at Silverstone and sponsored by B & Q. Are you considering buying a garden in the near future as there are some excellent Black Friday deals on Amazon this week 😀
  14. Is it this? You’re having some bad luck with cars at the moment Jon.
  15. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I have a Lexus disguised as a Toyota 😀
  16. So do you have to fit these resistors to the indicators, rear lights and brake light circuits? The resistors are 6 ohm so at 12 Volt will draw 2A/ 24 Watts which is about right for a 21 Watt bulb (indicators and stop light bulbs) but what about the tail lights at 5 Watts do they need a 30 ohm ( 27 Ohm preferred value) resistor?
  17. Or even a cosseted 1994 LS400 Celsior spending more time in the garage than on the road that decides to throw it’s idler pulley bearing 2 hours after I sold it leaving the new owner stranded on the M25!
  18. Yep, new thread 45 minutes ago. 25 year old Lexus LS400 breaks down and leaves driver almost stranded ....I’m ringing Lexus UK in the morning and those people at that JD reliability survey to complain. If I knew this was going to happen 15 years ago I wouldn’t have bought it.
  19. It made it to it’s new home! A bit of clever ingenuity with some cable ties from the crank pulley to the alternator ( Yes John we used ladies tights in our day) and some serious arm muscles on the steering got it there. Sent him the links to the parts needed which are now on order and the dosh. A very understanding guy so feeling a little better now.
  20. In front of you there John, the belt and idler are around £65.00 so I’ve text him and offered a £200.00 refund to cover the parts and inconvenience. I just wish it had happened before I sold it!
  21. Just sold the 1994 Celsior to a nice guy from Surrey after a thorough inspection and a decent test drive. Just got a phone call from him to say he had broken down on the M25 60 miles to go as the serpentine belt had broken due to a seized idler pulley! I feel so bad about this especially with my meticulous maintenance regime, the idler, tensioner and belt were checked by myself only a few months ago when I replaced the thermostat. Fifteen years I owned that car and apart from a broken rear spring and a flat battery (both at the airport) it has never failed me. I’ve even been in “the shed” and found a new pulley bearing and belt but the car is a hundred or so miles away now, worse still he has no recovery cover, I do but have to be with the car. I feel really bad about this.
  22. That is a great result and many thanks for the update and recommendation, very good price too! Mine was reading low on the speedometer and after a lot of DIY detective work I replaced the KMH to MPH convertor (import model) which cured the fault.
  23. Hi John and welcome to the LOC. Are you going from the LS460 to LS430 then?
  24. Is that the million pound question John 😀
