  1. Amayama showing “No longer available” There are also 2 types, conventional bulbs and HID versions so be careful to get the correct one. As mentioned LPD may be able to supply https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251868283738?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item3aa485035a:g:bXEAAOSwfHZe2KxN
  2. Bit of light reading anyone? 😀 https://shop.ukrtrans.biz/wp-content/uploads/catalogs/A960E.pdf
  3. Hi David and welcome to the LOC. Is this any help? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_IS
  4. Hello and welcome to the LOC Dave.
  5. Hi Alan and welcome to the LOC. Really you have the same options as previously posted but with no doubt increased prices, Amayama are showing as no longer available so dealer option may not exist anymore at £261.00 for the glass. Rockauto offer some replacements at around £10.00 but not sure on quality or fit.
  6. Thanks again George, I also have an ancient laptop which should be suitable, any recommendations for the supply of the interface and software?
  7. Hi Kevin and welcome to the LOC. I seem to remember there have been similar electrical issues with the boot release system on other Lexus models like the RX400. The problem appeared to be a faulty boot lock actuator but to be sure it would mean removing the access panel and checking for the required power, earths and signals and then checking the actuator on the bench. Another thought is the boot release button normally needs pressing for a couple of seconds to activate the lock?
  8. How much are they from LPD just out of interest?
  9. You can buy a set of clip removal tools for a few pounds on eBay, the forked one just goes under the clip head and then you lever it out.. Replacement clips are also pretty cheap on fleabay should you break any, I purchased a 200 box assortment for around a fiver.
  10. Check the valve where both washer jet pipes connect into, these have been known to fail on other models resulting in poor pressure at one jet.
  11. Assuming the pulley nut is tight it sounds like the main bearing has failed, you can get the bearing and rebuild kits but probably better to buy a recon or new pump. To confirm remove the pulley ( take care not to loose the the locking wedge in the shaft) then see if the shaft wobbles.
  12. The link below may help, on mine I simply insert a credit card both sides of the jet and push them in to release the fixing tangs and lift it out, however clips accessed from the other side are mentioned on the IS300 after removing the cover. There is also a mention of a “check valve” which can result in poor flow. £122.00 is certainly excessive but we are talking Lexus UK here, Amayama have the genuine articles for around £15.00 a pair shipped. I did notice there are 3 variants for the jets in the parts list so would assume these are non adjustable for aim?
  13. The paint code is located on the VIN plate normally located on the bottom of the passenger side B pillar and consists of a 3 digit code, I would confirm any potential donor vehicles have the same code to ensure the correct colour is purchased. Bear in mind however that there may still be slight variations in colour due to varying paint ageing. As for as electronic coding they should be plug and play, the only lock would be the front passenger door but personally with remote locking and the existing driver’s door lock I wouldn’t bother changing it.
  14. Cheers George I’ll take a look, I did the tap tap test around the dash area. Does anyone have an experience in Techstream as this is all new to me, the 1994 just needed a paper clip in the diagnostic socket but this one is presently beyond me. Obviously I’m not looking at the “official” hardware but any let’s say “guidance” on requirements would be great fully accepted.
  15. There Is a car park for the Country park and yes they do charge you to park 😀 At one time the road was closed and diversion directions put in place with high water levels present but this seems not to happen nowadays, just like potholes the local authority just face the other way.
  16. It when “Set to child” appears for the driver’s seat you begin to worry 😀
  17. According to the exploded parts diagram there is only one exhaust heat shield at the rear priced at Amayama for a tenth of the Lexus UK quoted price.
  18. I wonder how long it will take to hack this system and park the car in a shipping container!
  19. Hi Oliver and welcome to the LOC. Engines are the same so bell housing should be the same, gear ratios are the same, sensors and wiring should be the same. Could I ask what happened to your transmission....not engine coolant contamination in the transmission fluid by any chance?
  20. I wish I’d rode a bike without a crossbar on a few occasions when my foot slipped off the pedal, still causes me pain just thinking about it 😀
  21. Several members including myself have had good dealings with this guy. https://tinyurl.com/yckztmd6
  22. New moan....sale promotions with “up to” 50/60/70% off, the ones you see in big bold bright colours with the “up to” in a significantly smaller font and blended colour. I’ve often thought about walking into one of these shops and asking to see the full range of goods with the maximum discount applied.
  23. Strange topic title 😀
