  1. Can’t see the pictures? LPD have a decent discount on OEM https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-gs-phase-2-n-s-f-ball-joint/
  2. Nice post Ken, very informative and welcome back to Lexus ownership 😀
  3. If anyone is thinking of a transmission flush LPD have 5ltrs for £46.00 at the moment 😀
  4. Just check in your owner’s manual to confirm it meets specification. LPD have the Toyota oil at £35.00 at the moment. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product-category/oils-fluids/
  5. Driver’s seat was probably adjusted when the car was driven into the service bay a plug connector may have come adrift under the seat. Just my guess but please do let us know the outcome.
  6. Duplicate post so now merged to hopefully avoid confusion.
  7. Given the amount of time spent in reverse I wouldn’t be too concerned and certainly not loosing any sleep over it, you’re more liable to loose the signal in a tunnel and for longer.
  8. Those wool seats...I have those in my Celsior...cool in the summer and warm in the winter 😀
  9. Lovely looking car and thanks for posting it. I had the chance to buy a 4.0L Soarer many years ago but turned it down due to garage space, certainly would have been a better investment than my savings account right now.
  10. I didn’t think mineral oil was recommended for any modern engine, usually semi or fully synthetics are the choice. 90,000 miles is nothing these days when modern engines are clocking up hundreds of thousands before serious mechanical work is required, mineral oil was the choice for engines that needed a rebuild at 30-40,000 miles. I did read that 10w-40 was an option for higher mileage engines but if you have no engine wear symptoms I would stick to the manufacturer’s recommendation and change intervals.
  11. So you’re all good to come to Japfest with us then Gavin?😀 I bet that fault head is already back in Japan being examined and X-Rayed.
  12. Hello John and welcome to the LOC. Difficult question to answer, do you want the best in grip, comfort, noise levels, mileage, price, your driving style? Premium brands for a premium car I always say so your looking at the well renowned manufacturers then search for the special offers on that brand. Not sure what the OEM tyres are on the CT200h but that is usually a good starting reference point. Pretty sure other members will give you recommendations on specific makes and types but at the end of the day it is what makes you feel the safest because that is the most important factor.
  13. If the alarm does go off you still have the look out armed with a baseball bat to consider, if you did manage to dodge that and kick the jack out then no doubt you would be facing a murder charge.
  14. The February issue of Car Mechanics has an article on buying a used CT200h which maybe of use to prospective buyers. Not sure if it’s UK wide but I can loan this and hundreds of other magazines and books from my Derbyshire County Council online library for free. I presently subscribe to Classic Cars magazine but will now cancel this as it is also available and I can put this saving towards my gas bill. 😀
  15. Sorry missed all this, I was just putting another shovel of coal on the fire....now where were we 😀 Also had a bit of a setback with my irradiated water hydrogen production experiment.
  16. I would say an import...speedo up to 280 MPH and ETC on the multimedia display ( the Japanese Toll Road payment system).
  17. Sorry I can’t help you but I like Vera on TV and Cheryl Cole 😀 Seriously guys can anyone help Mark?
  18. Try this guy as he specialises in Lexus breaking. I think postal costs to Jersey are normal Royal Mail prices but a customs declaration is required. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/lexussparesdirect
  19. I have to agree, LPD do have some good offers, the strangest one was when 5 single litre bottles of coolant were less than one 5 litre bottle. Amayama are good if you don’t mind waiting a while but the last time I used them 2 items were cancelled. Another good source is Rockauto.com, my last order was ignition lead set, rotor arms and dizzy caps all branded ( NGK, Bosch) which even with shipping and prepaid VAT cost half of UK prices.
  20. That sounds about right, I did look it up once so going from memory.
  21. Would you like me to try and get hold of the LOC banners and maybe some goodies ( apparently a risk assessment will be required😀)
  22. I think if the cost is less than £36.00 they let stuff through without “admin” and tax.
  23. “Just going to put the car on charge dear” https://youtu.be/GMbN9nb3qyk
