  1. Like a lot of traditional trades these days this appears to be another one. Some time ago I did look into having my leather seats repaired but eventually did it myself. I just googled car seat repairs in my area and several came up. ”Dave the trimmer maybe” Dave the Trimmer - Classic & Custom Vehicle Upholstery Ltd Camberley Put it this way Lexus want over £2K for just the seat base cover new!
  2. Something has hit the sensor and the timing chain is the chief suspect, how many miles has the car done? Personally I wouldn’t crank it over without stripping the covers off to allow a more detailed examination of the chain, tensioners and cam gears. The first concern is where the missing sensor tip has gone!
  3. Mine is the same 2004 model year but taxed on engine size not emissions
  4. A is non LSD, B is LSD. It seems they were optional even on the sports model. Easy way to check
  5. Hi Thomas, welcome to the LOC, apologies that I’ve only just seen your post and you have managed to sort the lock problem. That’s the problem we tend to only use remote locking and the days when locks were lubricated during a service seem to be long gone.
  6. Good point Phil, if it was a Direct Debit payment you have the DD guarantee so could take the issue up with your bank maybe?
  7. As usual the wipers are ECU (Lexus call it a relay) so Herbs advice is the best way forward. If you can understand it the link below is for the circuit diagram or a least for an auto electrician. https://portal-diagnostov.com/en-gb/2020/04/09/wiper-washer-lexus-ct-200h-2014-system-wiring-diagrams/
  8. They use the same Toyota Techstream diagnostic kit but even though they are both the same company some dealers only accept their brand, if your Toyota dealer is more convenient just give them a ring and see what they say.
  9. Very naughty, if this payment was taken into account on the paperwork you signed there is nothing you can do legally to recover it now but I would certainly be having a word or 2 with the sales department.
  10. With any modern car with multiple ECUs the first step towards diagnosis and repair is a fault code read and then a communications check between the module responsible for the seat belt detection and the sensors involved. Do you still have warranty through Lexus servicing? Have you moved the seat position recently?
  11. Just 12 miles from me then, I know the Portland at the far end of the market area but not been in there since a pint and burger was £2.99. Nice looking SC430 but pricey!
  12. A quick google. “History codes are codes that have had a fault but either has been repaired, or is no longer considered as important to the overall vehicle condition by the computer.“ If you have no problems with the items mentioned I wouldn’t be too concerned.
  13. According to the ticket “No barbecues or open fires are allowed on site during the event”
  14. Mine is showing at 20.9 average MPG but it’s 99% local travel, perhaps get a better figure on the trip to Silverstone in April.
  15. Blimey that was a sleeper with just 30,000 miles nice find. Looking at your travel distance must have been up my way in the Notts, Derby’s or S Yorkshire area?
  16. I wonder if it uses Sony PlayStation software 😀
  17. I think I mentioned a while ago that this servicing shake up had got nothing to do with customer satisfaction but was merely a way of increasing revenue.....point proved apparently. 😀
  18. Not sure if these are programmable to change the language and KMs to miles, first MOT states KMs and second in miles which happened a couple of times with my Celsior but the present displayed mileage does tally with conversion. Just noticed the ashtray, it looks like the lid has been used to stub the cigarettes out!
  19. MOT history shows a fail on the first one for exposed tyre cord but then it gets advisories for front tyre wear one year later, we either have very serious tracking errors here or someone fitted a just legal secondhand tyre to gain an MOT. Not sure if the tyres have been replaced but there are at least 3 different makes on the car so can’t imagine the suspension advisories have been sorted. Either way not good, very vague description not even mentioning it is an import ( nice surprising insurance premium for the buyer!) and again nothing regarding service history. The fact it is advertised as a LS460 completes my opinion of the dealer.
  20. As suspected “Good afternoon, Thank you for your message. This vehicle was imported from Japan in 2020. Anything else I can help you with today? Kind Regards, Martha Road Link UK Ltd”
