Usually dirty contacts on the switch, switch cleaner does the job, pull back the cover, take out the 10mm bolt, remove switch leaving wire connected ( to avoid wire dropping inside the B pillar!), clean switch and refit.
I’m over here too, sand everywhere, not been able to see the horizon for days and even the view to San Agustin was fuzzy.
Had to suffer a shopping trip to Puerto Rico yesterday because the sun wasn’t out.
Looking better this morning as the sun has already broken through the clouds.
I’ve never understood why someone would strap a parachute on their back then jump out of a perfectly good aircraft.....do they not understand the gravity of the situation.
Hi and welcome to the LOC.
Very brave of you buying a car during twilight and wet, it is a Lexus though so should be fine.
Mot history looks good with all the advisories apparently sorted and below 100k miles is a bonus.
The seller even got a fresh MOT done.
I would monitor it for the time being as it appears to have eventually reset itself unless of course it was a cyber attack....is it all still in English 😀
To do the job properly I.e. cut back to good clean steel, weld in new sections, fill and paint is not a quick or easy job so will cost a fair bit of money if done by a body shop.
The other problem is the extent of the rot which can spread into the inner arches adding further to the repair costs.
There are some videos on YouTube showing the work involved.
I have the legally allowed Japanese style plates on mine to fit the holders so there are two rows of letters and numbers.
Pre booked in at the airport car but the ANPR camera didn’t recognise my plate so had to press the help button.
Just wondered if this would be the same for all these cameras and the speed cameras not that I’m planning to avoid parking fees or do 50 in a 30.
If you are good with Lego this may be just up your street 😀

I don’t think there is a defined service life on water pumps.
Your pump was replaced under warranty after just 4 years and this one is still OK after 10 years, my now sold 1994 Celsior still had it’s original after 26 years.
It would certainly be easier to replace whilst the radiator is out of the way but given it’s serpentine belt driven not cam belt driven it’s not a major strip down to replace it later if it fails.
A visual inspection would reveal any seepage from the gasket and bearing seals, a rock and spin on the pulley any bearing play or noise and I would imagine given Lexus quality the impeller won’t just fall off the shaft like some other lesser makes of car.
LPD do have them discounted if you go ahead and replace it.
Both my 1994 Celsior and my present 2004 model don’t have a sunroof and given the problems with clogged drains, rust and water ingress I can live happy without.
Never suffered a burnt bonce either 😀
I tend to agree regarding the 12V auxiliary battery, the clunks you hear are the HV contactors being energised and if the 12V battery is low charge they will not pull in cleanly resulting in excessive arcing across the contacts which can lead to them being stuck.
Faults on these however normally flag a fault code.
Go for the battery test first as advised and replace if required, it has been mentioned that Lexus were the cheapest source for a replacement so maybe worth contacting Derby Lexus.
With no DRLs fitted the headlight wiring is pretty simple with a fuse for each side, a relay and the headlight switch.
There is no direct connection to the speed of the vehicle.
I would thoroughly recheck the fuse panel for corrosion resulting from the water ingress and the headlight relay to ensure it is opening and closing correctly and not sticking closed.
