  1. Have you looked on ebay there were some being broken the other day, haggle the price though some guy the other week wanted £30.00 plus £30.00 p+p for the plastic battery cover! I'll do without! Good Luck, Steve PS was the mirror in the folded in mode when it got hit, I often forget to push the switch before pulling the key out and don't bother I'll remember from now on.
  2. HT Leads are Spark Plug Wires ( HT stands for high tension and they need to be as they carry around 25,000 volts to create the spark at the plugs)
  3. When I went from a GS 300 to an LS 430 I found it was only one insurance group higher and it was only70 quid more for the year. It must be that the claims history on Lexus is very good. One of the better side effects of the 300 and 430 series being viewed as 'old men's cars' !! Had a few problems with insurance for my imported Celsior, the mainstream insurers didn't recognise the make and model, eventually found a specialist insurer with fully comp, protected NCB for £310.00. Now where's my zimmerframe gone this time!!!!!!
  4. Hooray! and welcome I am no longer what appears to be the only Toyota Celsior owner on the forum ( or in the UK) Mine's a 94 38,000 miler in bronze. If you need any more info please ask as I have found my way around mine now. Cheers, Steve thta site didn't really help mate as i'm going to buy new bulbs on ebay and according to that site the 92 doesnt have fog lights whereas mine does! can anyone tell me what h bulbs are in the main headlights and fogs? Hi, When you say fog lights I assume these are the ones next to the headlights and not on the lower front spoiler ( some early models had separate headlight/foglight units but mine are all one unit) If this is the case the Headlight bulbs are H4 types ( dip and main beam in one bulb with 3 connection pins) and the fog lights are H3 ( single filament 2 pin connection). You will need to remove the side light lenses to gain access to the mounting bolts for the removal of the headlights to replace the bulbs ( If you need the proceedure to do this let me know and I will post the link) Cheers, Steve
  5. I could be wrong here but my 94 model has 2 screen wash bottles one at the rear of the battery ( screenwash/water mix and one infront of the radiator ( plain water only for rinsing) probably changed for your year if so sorry for duff info.

  7. Have got some from oz on order I understand they are a perfect fit and are for a landcruiser will keep you posted. These are for a mk 2. Simon, have you tried them. I bought these on ebay from a US seller and they look the same as the originals even down to the rubber vent pipe thingy and are a perfect fit see the picture.
  8. Following Boyles Law a little further if the outside temperature was -273C ( absolute zero) the volume of a gas becomes zero does this mean that you wouldn't be able open the bonnet to start with nevermind make sure it stays open?
  9. Hi, Here are the pictures you asked for of my Celsior/LS400 rear light cluster. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...exusrear002.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...exusrear001.jpg Hope this helps
  10. Sorry been busy at work so not been paying attention to the forum until now, I will take a picture tomorrow and post it up for everybody to see the difference. By the way has anybody else got a Celsior? I think mine's pining for a mate!!!
  11. Mines a Mk2 and I find cold start tickover to be around 1200-1500 rpm and I think the correct warm idle speed is 650 rpm.
  12. The rear lights on the Jap spec are different, the UK spec outer light cluster finishes flush with the edge of the boot lid and the inner set continues in from there. On the Jap spec which I have the outer set continues further in and then you have the inner set because less room is need for the Jap/US number plate. look here http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...06/Lexus009.jpg
  13. I've changed my indicator units to clear on mine and it looks a lot better. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...nversion003.jpg Yes that is a Toyota badge!
  14. I haven't seen the replacement lights in the uk but ebay.com the US site has sellers follow this link for more info http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-LS400...041689493QQrdZ1 If you contact the sellers they may have a buy it now price but make sure they will ship to the UK

The ebay guy would have happily sold me his for a fiver!! Whoo is me,the end of the world is nigh!! and so on and so on A depressed but still a Lexus owning Steve
  16. I think those 2 pound coins may be mine do they have the queens head on one side!!!!!!!!
  17. Hello, I too have a Celsior Mk2 1994 have you also discovered that the radio only picks up radio2 because the frequency range is different in Japan, you can apparently get convertors for this but I use the excellent CD changer for music so not bothered about the radio. If your considering buying make sure that the speedo has been converted to MPH and you get a record of this with the original mileage in KM converted to Miles and the speed limiter is deactivated ( 113 MPH I think max speed in Japan).Service history with Jap imports is hit and miss. Also don't forget insurer's pull faces with imports my normal insurer Esure wouldn't cover me but I got a good deal with a specialist ( pm me for details). You may also find the car fitted with air suspension, check it well as very expensive to repair/replace. As a guide I paid £3700 for mine in A1 condition, after market 17" chrome alloys and a certified 38,000 miles. some pictures ( not very good I didn't take them) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...06/Lexus010.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...06/Lexus009.jpg
  18. I have a little extra option on mine as it's an import LS400 it's a fender pole a neat little gadget that is fixed on the nearside bumper like a mini telescopic aerial and goes up and down at the touch of a switch ( helps prevent Mr Vandal from realigning it or permenantly removing it) even illuminates at night using light from the sidelights. Ok I'll tell you before you ask They are only fitted to the Jap spec models to assist judging the front edge of the car when pulling out from behind a parked vehicle for example or reverse parking into a space apparently because the Japanese are a smaller average height and have more difficulty seeing over the bonnet. Another thing it has but not in my US spec owner's manual is an effects button for surround sound on the Pioneer audio system that gives you "dome" "cathedral" and various other options which you can then adjust the effect for each one with 2 other controls. Anyone else seen this?
  19. I have a set of Impul Gran'z 17" chrome alloys fiited to my Celsior/LS400 with 255-40zr17's on the rear and 235-45zr17's on the front and a "stop in 1st gear do not exceed 30 MPH spacesaver spare" They were on the car when I bought it but seem to be completely Japanese and nobody knows them in the UK. Heres a picture http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste.../ImpulGranz.jpg
  20. Hello, I have some pictures of my LS400 on my pc I would like to post but I don't know how I'm sooooo useless!! Tuition please!! Thanks, Steve
  21. Hello everybody, I have a set of 17" chrome alloys fitted with the name IMPUL GRAN'Z on the centre caps, as the car is a LS400/Celsior import I guess they are Japanese manufactured. Two of the screw on centre caps are missing and I would like to obtain replacements from a UK source ( there is a Japanese website but I don't understand it because it's in Japanese!!) Heres hoping, Steve
  22. Hello, I have just discovered that there should be a black moulded panel fitted on my LS400 1994. It covers the top of the radiator and extends from the air intake duct on the left to over the battery on the right. Does anyone have a spare for sale or recommendations to find one Cheers everybody, Steve
  23. Hi, Is that the LS400 I saw on Ebay you,ve bought? Chgeers, Steve
