  1. Spotted this video on YT with some Swedish royalty arriving at an airport, lead car is a silver Lexus (ES300h?) at around 2.30 in.
  2. According to the parts diagrams only the complete navigation display unit is available (12.3” screen) and there is no indicated price. The only cost effective option is to find a secondhand unit but the larger screen was only fitted to very late models making finding one difficult.
  3. I was referring to Bill Murray who played the main character in Ground Hog Day, Phil the weather man. 😀
  4. Groundhog Day 😀 Still looks as clean and tidy, tell us more about the reacquisition and maybe the weather Bill.
  5. Now that’s what I call a garage, I’m guessing climate controlled too.
  6. I understand not but the excess has increased to around £75.00 now. The only thing that does concern me is would a smashed side window be classed as attempted theft by the insurer whereas a stone damaged windscreen be not.
  7. I used the same company for my front seats, as Bill mentions they need a sample to colour match. After the colour was mismatched from a very small sample I posted one of my headrests to them which they returned with the second correctly matched bottle.
  8. As above, if you have fully comprehensive insurance they usually have a “Recommended” company like Autoglass. It is DIYable but if you have no previous experience removing the door trim panel and window guides get someone else to do it.
  9. Agree that FJ have become a little picky on which cars they will cover. Having had “Classic” cover for my 94 Celsior they wouldn’t even offer a standard insurance quote on the 04 as “it’s not on our database” Being on classic cover my max NCB had also expired and AF were the only company to offer cover with nil NCB but it cost nearly 4 times as much. Hopefully with a years NCB in June I can get a lower premium on renewal. Welcome to the LOC Simon, I found the seating in the 2001 GS300 I had was higher than the LS and firmer making getting in and out a lot easier.
  10. Mine hasn’t used a drop of petrol for 3 weeks being sat at a “secure” airport car park for this time. Looking at the present UK prices it may be my best investment ever with a 20% yield in 3 weeks as long as the tank is still full. With lower taxes the present cost here in Gran Canaria is around €1.34/L.
  11. I know the LS400s had tilt adjustment on both front and rear headrests.
  12. That’s a very fair comment, I didn’t realise until you mentioned it Rob. Moved to GD forum.
  13. It appears to be spreading. Beginning at 3.15.
  14. Hi Allen and welcome to the LOC. From Lexus you are looking at £70.00 for the rear right cable section and £60.00 for brake shoes for both sides. As Malc mentions even new brake shoes only have 2-3mm of material on them so with a good ruff up with sandpaper and drum surface clean they may be OK. There are aftermarket replacements on fleabay but no idea on quality
  15. Oh more cyber attacks! Concerning Menu only available in Russian...Panic! Start button now says “FIRE” avoid using Launch Control if possible.
  16. The driver did pretty well if just fined, the offence also carries 3 penalty points! Both being arrested for threatening behaviour and the car towed would have been the icing on the cake. Laziness and total arrogance. Of course the media have got the location wrong apparently being in Leicestershire not Cumbria as reported.
  17. Been here for 3 weeks now and not seen one Lexus, are they all up north of the island? Bit wet today too 😀
  18. I was lucky enough to get to drive a new one when they were first launched with a professional driver on both private and public roads back in 2008. Spotted this one for sale at a car dealer in Airdrie not too far away from you.
  19. Probably, easier to remove the under tray, get to the radiator drain valve and drain the coolant off the ground. Perhaps just mention when you drop the car off “I love the suspension on this car and it’s never given me any problems” 😀
  20. The owner’s manual says to have the suspension setting to normal and not to activate the hybrid system while the car is raised. The first situation is a bit weird in that if the car is parked on a kerb how you you drive it off without switching on the hybrid system to do so ?
  21. Hi Robert and welcome to the LOC. With my youngest offspring now over 30 years old I can’t offer much help today but I do know that the front passenger airbag needs turning off when a rear facing child seat is fitted in that position. This should be in your owner’s manual but see the link below.
  22. I’m heading down from the north starting at M1 junction 28 southbound, anyone further north?
  23. I think it may be Japanese culture where respect, courtesy, discipline and a willingness to please others still appear to be human traits which are then modelled into Toyota employees across the world. Knowing many people who work at their factory in Derby the culture is certainly evident there.
  24. Firstly did you leave the parking brake on while it was stood and secondly check the calliper slide pins for free movement as they may have seized.
  25. Not a particular clear image but shows the location of the keyless entry system switch, easily caught with a knee without realising. Apparently it is fitted to allow the system to be switched off when parked for some time as it stops the system constantly looking for a key so depleting the battery quicker plus today also prevents scanners from accessing the code.
