    My stock of wings has been zero for some time, the only series III parts I have now are both bumpers and the door window glasses. Have you tried Paul Frost, he specialises in LS breaking?

    When it comes to secondhand parts you basically have the choice of eBay and the like or scrapyards. You may get a short warranty but if the replacement is as old as the one you remove it may not last and then another one pops. The other alternative is to convert to conventional suspension.

    If one side works the other should also, mine has the Lexus logo projector lights fitted to all 4 doors and were plug and play. As you mention everything is Can Bus controlled these days ( my switch backlight illumination is out at present and needs diagnostics) so I can fully understand your views. If you have a basic multimeter you should be able to check the connector pins for 12V and ground which are the only requirements for it to light up. I’ll have a search for the wiring diagram.

    There is an interior temperature sensor fitted as shown in the attached picture. If you look under the driver’s side dash on the transmission tunnel you should see a small vent. Behind the vent is the sensor which works by airflow over it so the Climate Control knows the interior temperature and adjusts cabin temperature according to the driver settings. This sensor becomes clogged with dust over time ( a bit like your PC fans) leading to false readings and subsequent wrong temperatures. Try gently cleaning the sensor vents with a soft brush and vacuum cleaner or use compressed air to blow out the vent.

    Parked up at Japfest the other week and decided to sit in the rear seat and play with the settings. Reclined the seat and then discovered the seat automatically returned to the fully upright position when the door was opened. My tray table was also stowed away, seat belt securely fastened and the landing uneventful. 😀

    There is a wear sensor on each wheel so 4 in total, different part numbers for each one but at over £100.00 each from Lexus I would stick to aftermarket. If the sensors are OK I would leave them. I have Pirelli P-Zeros ( 245/45/18 100Y) all around on my LS430, when first fitted they sounded like I was on a gravel track but quietened down after a few miles and are now almost silent with great grip and little wear.

    TBH if you have no warning lights regarding the O2 sensors I would leave them until failure. The post cat ones rarely fail. Part numbers as shown, please ensure you are sitting comfortably before viewing 😀

    Whichever way you want to go it’s going to be expensive. Very little is manufactured here in the UK so it’s doubtful that you will find a ready made custom kit from other than China. Another option is to buy a complete front end off the later model, perhaps a rear end write off and then find a UK company who can then modify and fit it to your car. Last option is buy the later model 😀

    Sorry to hear of your accident wishing you a quick and full recovery. As above with the charging and engine running but I would add in to move the car if possible a short distance ( up and down the driveway a few time if you have one) just to keep the brake discs free from rust and the tyres from developing flat spots.

    I purchased one recommended by another member on here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124808047632 It took a little time to install the software but once done connected to the car fine ( import model too!) Did a full code read fine, not had time to delve further into its capabilities but plenty of options seem available. Just be aware that the battery seems to flatten fairly quickly with the device connected and running.

    Gently positioning a yellow duster behind the bottom of the mirror glass and out of the lower sides then giving it a firm tug normally releases the bottom clips and spreads the stress. Lifting the glass up and towards you will unhook the top fastenings and allow the glass to come out. Putting a blanket or some cushions below the mirror provides additional safety but never had one just fly out.

    Hi Michael, welcome to the LOC and great choice of Lexus model. I’m now 63 (just) passed my car test in 1977 and bike test just before they introduced the new style test instead of just riding around the block. Recently purchased a 1981 Suzuki GS250 which is my retirement project, free road tax and no MOT from next year.

    Hi Muhammad and welcome to the LOC. How times have changed, my very first car back in 1976 was an old Mini with 10” wheels then a Ford Escort with 12” wheels. As time went on there were 13” and 14” wheels. Today 18” seem to be the starting point with tyres twice as wide to handle the power of present cars. Given the state of UK roads you are making the best decision with 18” wheels.

    What was the original fault before you replaced the air struts, the same as you have now or something different and how did you diagnose it was the struts initially? Toyota Techstream is the standard diagnostic system which may allow live testing of the suspect valves. Even given what you have already spent on struts a coilover replacement kit may still work out the cheaper option as many members have already done.

    Very unfortunate with the staff situation which could perhaps have been handled better with maybe a courtesy call to keep you in the picture, an introduction to the replacement salesperson and a gesture of goodwill at handover. What was the time period between ordering and actual handover?
