  1. It shows as one piece from the mid section joint on the exploded parts diagram. Part number is 17430-70670 Applies to IGFE...GXE10 models The one on ebay looks correct although at that price it won't be stainless.
  2. Hi and welcome to the LOC. Sorry need to ask, but why do you need new brake discs on a fairly new car? They should be available from Lexus but I doubt there is any source of after market discs yet. Based on the model type UVF45R-AEXGHW the disc part numbers are 43512-50250 RH 43516-50010 LH
  3. Hi, Difficult one to address as there are a few things they could argue, how long have you had the car? Has this happened since you bought it or started after? The tracking can be knocked out by something as simple as a kerb knock, mounting a kerb or striking road debris. Is there any abnormal wear on the tyres? What ever the case is it worth the chasing for around £30.00
  4. Hi Baz, Welcome to the LOC. Don't tell anyone but I too have a Lexus LS400 which is really a Toyota Celsior import, been on this forum a few years now and no one has noticed
  5. Hi, There is a good chance it will fail on this either because the emissions will be affected or because the exhaust system is badly corroded although I thought the system was stainless steel. If it is near the joint are you sure the gasket between the two bolt up sections has not failed? If it is the rear section it can be bought separately.
  6. There have been previous posts on this issue, mine tends to hold fine,a friends SL55 holds on very steep slopes at idle. All down to transmission designs I think. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=42323
  7. Welcome back to the Lexus fold. Have you got it? Is everything OK with it?Pictures please! Regards, Steve
  8. The price variation also applies to parts, mine is technically a Toyota so I was getting parts from a Toyota dealer but was then told as it was "an import" there was a "surcharge" on the parts. Using Toyo.diy I compared part numbers between the LS400 and Celsior and they were the same but even on there the Celsior price was higher for the same part. I now just quote the LS part number to my local Lexus dealer and save 10% and never had anything that didn't look and fit the same. There are some cosmetic differences e.g the rear light clusters and there is no EGR system fitted (not required in Japan) and with the cracking EGR pipe problem I am very pleased it doesn't. If you want a real shock check out the price of Toyota Type IV ATF in the UK then do the same from the USA.
  9. It is accessible from under the car with the front on axle stands If still fitted there should be a black plastic under engine cover which needs to be removed (or at least partially then folded down out the way).I think there are around 12 10mm bolts/crosshead screws to fully remove. Once off the filter is located on the passenger side about halfway back along the engine bay. It's mounted horizontally making priming (pre filling with oil) difficult and is the conventional screw on type. Make sure the rubber seal comes of with the old one and fit the new one hand tight only. I always use a genuine Toyota filter these are around £12.00 including a new sump plug washer from Lexus. I assume you are also changing the oil so a good quality 5w-30 is needed,I use Havoline Fully Synthetic from Morrisons Petrol stations at around £16.00/5 litres.
  10. I've done that to mine twice, took them out (for some reason mine has two mounted together) first sucked the dust out with a vacuum cleaner then washed in soapy water, rinsed then allowed to dry. Once dry I sprayed with Fabreeze and refitted. Then did the aerosol AC cleaner (£1.99 from Aldi) You may have to reset the reminder on yours though. Whilst on the subject of Lexus dealers, can anyone remember the guy who had his transmission "melted" and the last we heard Lexus were going to cover it?
  11. Hello Ivo, Welcome to the LOC. I think the IS owners on here outnumber all the other Lexus models put together so there will be plenty of members to discuss topics with you. Very nice looking car you have there. All the best, Steve
  12. I would think many of us have a Moody Blues album somewhere lets face it they come under the "Super Group" status. So when leaving the Crown Plaza Hotel at Birmingham NEC on 11/09/2010 to go to the airport we were joined in the courtesy minibus by two Americans one male and one female and hearing their accents began a conversation about where we had been in Florida, the guy asked if we were going to the "gig" later that night and I said "Oh the Moody Blues concert at the LG Arena,no we are flying this afternoon"I then jokingly told him I was a personal friend of Justin Haywood. Turns out the guy was Alan Hewitt the Moody Blues keyboard player and in fact the whole group were staying at the hotel, I was a little embarrassed to say the least having not recognized him.
  13. That is the warning for low brake fluid check the level and top up if required then keep an eye on it, the level does drop as the pads wear.
  14. Any one know where the link (US Flag) to the US LOC has gone, was useful for jumping over the pond but can't see it amymore
  15. I've got to agree on the calipers thing, found a tin of red Hammerite in the garage some years ago and went for it, I think a change to black is in order along with the drum part of the rear discs. I still have the multispoke chromes so may have them refurbed in the future, turns out the chrome is not chrome? but a type of plastic chrome which can be removed conventionally whereas real chrome plating need a special acid bath to remove. This is all subject to available funds unless I can find my mislaid EuroMillions £113,000,000 ticket!!!!!!
  16. If the warranty doesn't apply to rubber items that means effectively all the suspension, hoses, engine mounts, brake cylinders etc are also not covered? Give Lexus GB a call to confirm. Had the car not been under warranty I would have sprayed the window channels with furniture polish to see if that freed things up 1st. What was the Lexus answer to a temporary repair, wedge a clothes peg in the bottom window channel! Have another go at them, wear and tear and maybe some cosmetic parts I understand but as said previously this is a mechanical fault which should be covered.
  17. Hi and welcome to the LOC sorry your 1st post is a problem with your Altezza. Have you managed to recover the car? Is the EML lit indicating a fault? Do you have a locking fuel cap so some idiot can't mess with your fuel? If the battery was completely flat the ECU may be in relearn mode so things may improve in time, other things to look for especially if the weather was cold and damp are the coil packs and their related wiring. Sorry can't be more specific as I have an LS400. Some of the Altezza owners will no doubt chip in soon. Cheers, Steve
  18. I normally do that on the Freeview HDD recorder then use x32 to skip the ads but not so easy on live shows and you are correct in that control of the remote is a must!!! lol
  19. They were purchased from a company that buys wheels in bulk from manufacturers that have been fitted to their vehicles then for some reason have been replaced with a different type, they are effectively new,the only marks on mine were from removal of HAMMER ON balance weights!!! Why not use stick on ones I don't know but it seems to be common practice looking at pictures of these factory wheels fitted to new EVO 9 cars. I decided to collect mine personally (courier delivery was £20.00 but for £40.00 in petrol I gave the LS a good run to North Yorkshire) and the guy went through the available stock with me to pick 4 of the best as some were more marked than others. The set cost me £160.00 so £40.00 per wheel. The wheels are very lightweight and I had my tyres swapped over onto them. Being used to wide wheels and low profile tyres I am used to quite a hard ride and there is no difference with them,as for high speed handling I haven't had the chance yet to find out.
  20. Or have a look here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=637
  21. All the Lexus locknuts come with a sticker showing the key number which should be attached to something secure, your V5C log book for example and kept for future reference. It is then just a case of quoting this number to a Lexus dealer who can then supply a replacement key,but if you don't have this either it may be as previously suggested a case of brute force removal. It may be worth trying the original supplying dealer if the wheels are original as they may have a record from new.
  22. Hi Rob and welcome to the LOC. I've heard some bad results with the poly bushes,as you say they are quite hard when it comes to the ride comfort, there is a good resource site www.lexls.com although aimed towards LS models there are some good tips on there for bush replacements also www.lextreme.com,they might give you some more ideas when it comes to replacements. As for the exhaust the later models I believe are stainless steel so never rust but there are many companies that will manufacture a ss system for you. Regards, Steve
  23. Just thought I have no locking wheel nuts on these wheels so I have ordered a set of genuine Lexus ones from Lexus Woodford £13.50 delivered, a small investment for peace of mind. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320554707441&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_922
  24. Yes 17" 8J width Offset is 38 ( Normal is 38-45) so fine there, bore on new wheels was 67.1 so purchased some spigot rings to take down to 60.1 on ebay for a fiver delivered.
  25. What a choice, we have Strictly Come dancing with "Brucies" self centred rubbish jokes or the X Factor which I define as 2 hours of commercial breaks with some music interspersed!!
