  1. I’ve noticed in warmer places like GC people put a dash cover over the dash or completely cover the windscreen. Given the UK climate just avoid exposure to the couple of weeks sunshine we have or put a towel over it. I did notice my old Celsior had dash lift near the windscreen but probably due to 12 years of Japanese climate. Old Rover 800s we’re renowned for the “curly dash problem”
  2. How old is your auxiliary battery (12 Volt) ? Many strange issues occur with a battery on the way out with modern vehicles.
  3. It is located in the driver’s side wheel arch but up left towards where the A pillar comes down, basically under the bonnet hinge.
  4. An “Induction heater” they use electromagnetic energy to produce heat which unlike oxyacetylene is very localised and more controllable greatly reducing the risk of damage and fire.
  5. Have a read through this, there are a couple of fuses for the fans and various relays controlled by the engine ECU. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/825831-2007-lexus-is-250-awd-radiator-cooling-fan-switch-relay-location.html
  6. Always great to get a personal recommendation, cheers Ray. 😀
  7. Surprisingly reasonable and quick too, you can select various delivery options and pre pay the VAT so no hold ups in UK customs.
  8. Here’s an example from Rockauto for complete rears, Lexus charge double the price just for the strut!
  9. Most of us are also in the UK and we order parts from both the places mentioned as even including shipping and taxes the parts are still cheaper than UK suppliers 😀
  10. The Japanese spec models (Toyota Celsior) did have the option of air suspension which with an aftermarket controller allowed slamming 😀
  11. You do realise Malc that the plate will first need putting on retention (£80.00 now I think) and then will need nominating to the new owner ( £25.00 now I think). Perhaps a few barrels of beer then ? 😀
  12. The option doesn’t appear to be available in the personalised settings menu. Techstream may be the better option. https://manualzz.com/doc/23998622/lexus-is-250-350-personalized-settings-with-navigation-sy...
  13. Hi Saurav and welcome to the LOC. As far as I am aware the answer is no as it has, quite rightly, a built in safety feature to prevent the driver from watching movies whilst driving. The front seat passenger could watch it but it would also be visible to the driver so the option is unavailable.
  14. From what I remember from similar research on the old 94 series III seats ( 95-97) would fit the earlier models but the series IV (97-2000) would not, I think you could get only 3 of the 4 front seat bolts to fit without serious modifications.
  15. With no suitable “plug and play” adaptor available I hardwired a JVC single DIN CD/Tuner head unit in mine having identified all the speaker and power wires. I removed the redundant CD changer in the boot and fitted a sub amp in its place then ran a screened cable from the head unit aux output to the sub amp. I think it was 50W RMS per channel and a 100W RMS sub amplifier. This retained the sub woofer feature and gave a nice sound.
  16. I’ve only ever driven one once and must admit it was a bum clenching experience which may explain the lack of seat wear 😀
  17. Yay good result there Bob and thank you for the update 😀
  18. Yea why not, I would imagine it will fetch silly money though.
  19. I’ll allow it even though it’s German 😀 I do hope that’s not your blood pressure in picture 6.
  20. Seems to have lived a hard life with a misting shock absorber at 4 years old and advisories at nearly every MOT since. I would assume most of the defects were sorted particularly the fuel filler pipe. Plus side is reasonable mileage and nothing a good valet wouldn’t sort. You could take full advantage of the “unlimited test drive” and decide after a year or two if you want it 😀
  21. But that front grille......it looks like an air intake for some type of industrial HVAC system normally found on the roofs of buildings and therefore out of site.
  22. My stand alone Sat Nav chimes if I go over 30MPH in that zone, have you checked the manual to see if there is a similar setting for the in car system?
  23. I think access to spare parts is the fly in the ointment, over the last few years more and more parts are NLA. Take springs for example now very hard to source OEM. OK there are always aftermarket suppliers of various quality but would this detract from the value when a buyer discovers XYZ autospares UCAs on the car? In the UK rust is another factor despite taking action to prevent it, rear arches spring to mind.
