Surely the only weak points on the LS are the cat flanges and Y pipe as the rest is factory stainless steel. The LS430 was downgraded to mild steel with the back boxes rusting from the inside out. I feel very fortunate that my 2004 Celsior has a factory optional full stainless system and no sunroof.

The LS PS pumps are built to last, the main shaft bearing is massive ( the internal diameter of the pump body and the impeller is all metal construction with stainless steel fin inserts. The main bearing is not lubricated by the fluid as there is an oil seal between it and the fluid pump section. I would firstly suggest a couple of fluid changes ( turkey baster helps remove the fluid from the reservoir) and then fully bleed the system by turning the steering lock to lock a few times ( put a glossy magazine under each tyre to make it easier)

I found this one with a google search but no idea just how good or bad they are with diagnostics. https://chesterautoservices.co.uk/car-service-prices/lexus/ Also found this video explaining how to disconnect the fuel pressure sensor and others at the ECU and then see if the car starts. From there it also explains how to disconnect the fuel pressure sensor alone and then see if it starts again. This is something you could initially DIY at zero cost to assist correct diagnosis.

RC F owners in Derby ?
steve2006 replied to gb1600e's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Nearest I get is East Midlands Airport and that’s only in a Toyota Celsior. If you have a 50% discount voucher for the Bay Tree I’ll make the effort 😀 -
There is this company in Leicester https://www.autotronics.co.uk/product/lexus-ls400-1993-2003-instrument-cluster-repair

LEXUS IS250 INTERIOR REPLACEMENT DUE HORRIBLE DOOR CARDS
steve2006 replied to TomsIs250's topic in Modifications & Tuning
Even my old 94 Celsior (JDM LS400) had the loom and connector under the rear seat base for the electric massage seats which weren’t fitted in mine. There is a fair chance that yours will be the same with the connector and loom. Just remove a seat and check ( it may be under the carpet). If it is there compare it to the connector on the seats you have purchased. Years ago I had a Rover 800 and fitted grey leather electric seats in that, as Linus mentioned a 12 Volt supply was the only addition required. Also bear in mind if you have seat squab airbags (the connector is always yellow) to disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes to allow the system to discharge before pulling connectors out. -
“We’ve managed to locate your stolen Lexus Sir, it’s in a freight container in Felixstowe but not sure which one”
-
Or they will arrange for the shipping container to be positioned just around the corner. Once the doors are closed there is no tracking signal!

Did Leeds Lexus change my £87 air filters???
steve2006 replied to Tom999's topic in Lexus General Maintenance
Lexus probably have a part number for the most important tool required to service a car. Fortunately they do not contain any lead just graphite. -
Now that is interesting as my mp stated “ This is not a decision I took lightly. I have listened to and read the opinions of hundreds of Amber Valley residents both in support of and against restoring this payment as a universal credit.” I have written back asking for a percentage breakdown of those in support and against along with her claim that all labour mps backed the government when it is documented that 1 voted against the government and many more abstained. Her claim that the state pension has risen by £900.00 last April with another £480 next April is also misleading and only applies to those in receipt of the new full pension. Those on a reduced pension due to insufficient qualifying years received only a percentage of those figures.

IS 300H F-Sport 2017" to RC-F full brake sett (all in)
steve2006 replied to S.H.'s topic in Lexus Build Threads
Very nice to see a great brake upgrade which has been well thought out and basically self designed. This makes a great change from the usual “ I’m going to fit dual turbos and a super charger on my engine” and do no other upgrades regarding stopping. -
Malc, I have once again been in touch with my new labour mp ( doesn’t deserve capital letter!) to ask how she voted. Absolutely no answer to the question but on checking Hansard I already knew. I think I may take up her offer of help filling in the pension credit application knowing that the outcome will be “ You don’t qualify” Winter Fuel Allowance Statement.pdf

Cheap ls600

Dan I have posted several times as other members will confirm asking firstly why you are sometimes unable to even provide a quote for a Lexus vehicle and secondly why insurance premiums have increased so much recently to the point where some quotes are more than the value of 5he vehicle being insured. All I am asking for is a response for those, like yourself, in the insurance business to give their “ side of the story” -
Advice needed

Have you tried pitching the idea of selling your car to the Dragons? When it comes to pricing I’m out 😀 -
There is a near neighbour to me who has a mobility car which is replaced every so many years and from the time it is delivered to the time it is replaced I have never seen it move from under the car port. I have occasionally seen one of the relatives start it up and leave it running for a while probably to keep the battery charged up but that’s as far as it goes. That may explain in this case why Mobility make such huge profits when they sell 3 year old used mobility cars with delivery mileage only! There is little official information regarding Mobility UK past 2020 but I assume the main, maybe sole, shareholders are still the major UK banks.. How it can be described as a “Non Profit Organisation” when run by banks is a contradiction in term.

OK after further searching I think he means the front near side height sensor as this is the only associated component that has a mechanical linkage. These are a common failure due to their alloy construction and they fracture at one end at the ball joint. Jon Evans a member on here actually designed a replacement for the LS400 but this could easily be modified for the IS250. You could buy the complete sensor for around £450.00 or just get the link made with some threaded bar and a couple of swivel joints and just replace that. Link below is Jon’s solution, you just need to match the length for the IS250. https://www.evansweb.info/2009/11/23/ls400-ride-height-sensor-repair/ If you could confirm this is the problem with the MOT tester I would be happy to make you one, I’m also just over the county border in Derbyshire so could also fit it for you for the cost of my fuel and a few beer tokens 😀 This should be the part, but obviously I can make one for a fraction of that price! https://tinyurl.com/yrfvxsbv Or if you’re feeling flush the Lexus price for the complete assembly.

I thought there was only me still up! 😀 Yes mine have both been JDM Celsiors and you are limited with insurance but mine has been reasonable albeit with limited mileage. -
I’m now going to write to Ft.Worth in the USA and see if they will send me several bars of gold bullion…..I will of course pay the shipping 😀 Seriously that’s great, still companies out there willing to put customer service and satisfaction first. If you get the time take some pictures of the job and make a tutorial please.

Cheap ls600

Obviously double the price with shipping then add another £500.00 for registration and alterations like rear fog lights. 42,000 miles. https://www.timesjpn.com/listings/toyota-celsior-2006-black/ The last year of the Celsior before Lexus finally arrived in Japan. -
It’s not just vehicle AC which has been affected by the “Ozone layer depletion” it’s also buildings AC or HVAC and refrigeration. Everytime they come up with an “ environmentally friendly” refrigerant it turns out to be less efficient, has a shorter lifespan and costs more. We have gone from R12 ( Freon) to R134a and now R1234yf. When it comes to domestic refrigeration R12 was replaced by Pentane, a highly inflammable liquid with poorer efficiency ( just look at the energy rating on these) resulting in longer sometimes near constant compressor running times using more electricity. Get a leak on the system and the outcome could be the same as a natural gas leak when you switch that light on!

When I bought my 94 Celsior in 2006 I took it for an AC check (it was blowing ice cold at the time) and was told there was no issue with it, I did however change the pollen filters. 16 years later I sold it and the AC was still working fine. I think keeping it on all the time plays a major part in longevity.
