Hi Mark and welcome to the LOC. Sorry to hear of the problem you are having with your NX. I assume you no longer have any warranty on the car? The part you refer “Damper Servo Sub- Assy, Blower No1.” is buried within the heater unit inside the car. Not sure is access is possible without major dismantling of the dash and heater box. A known common fault in past Lexus models is damage to the servo actuator arm if not in the correct service position when the pollen filter is replaced. I hope the attached diagram helps with the part circled in red.

Parking your Large car in a Small garage
steve2006 replied to Mr Vlad's topic in Lexus General Discussions
So you put your prized Ferrari with non folding mirrors in the garage and next day it has changed into a Mini Cooper! 😀 An original Mini would have gone in there with room to spare. Fortunately mine is wide enough but had to be extended 6 inches to shut the door, wood blocks screwed to the floor prevent me going through the end wall and joining the kitchen appliances in the utility room. -

Normally if it’s a yellow/orange light it’s a warning of a system fault, can still be driven with care, get it sorted but red is get it sorted immediately. The only time I have had it on mine was when the battery went flat but it went out after a short drive.

The picture shows the 2 main earthing cables (battery negative) on the LS400, there is another cable which is bolted to the passenger side inner wing just rear of the battery. Given the ongoing problems I would locate all these cables, unbolt them, check the ends into the terminals, clean up the connections, fixing bolts and mounting points then reassemble.

I like how the police inspector said “ with regret”....no more easy money fixed penalties there then. 😀

I like they’ve closed it “until a longer term solution can be found.” It’s been like that for decades and apart from a few extra signs nothing has been done to improve the situation. Add in the cutbacks to council budgets and the solution will be to leave it closed.

Hello Hazel and welcome to the LOC. Techstream is a must for diagnostics, apparently the use of lead free solder has not helped in the inverter units which are prone to defects because of it. I also seem to remember the HV contactors burn out due to back EMF arcing. What ever the cause Techstream first and any work a pair of class O gloves before touching anything hybrid! There is a company called Hybrid Battery Solutions ( member on here) but not sure if they do inverters.

Timing chains were fine on OHV engines with a short chain run but ran into problems with OHC units due to the now extended runs resulting in chain stretch. All change to belts with quality metal bearing idlers and tensioner. Now back to multiple chain set up with plastic guides and tensioner. No matter how well lubricated and the quality of the plastic it will never win pressed against a moving metal chain. I watched a YouTube video the other day involving a Range Rover timing chain tensioner failure caught just in time. You can cut through butter with a plastic knife but sheet steel is another matter.

Another member has suffered the same problem recently, IIRC the finance rate is now 8.9% and the small print allows it!

AM radio, I didn’t know it still existed 😀 There should be a manual tuning option, have you looked in your owner’s book page 328 on? https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1022116/Lexus-Ct-200h-2016.html?page=328#manual

Tyre pressure (TPMS) light flashing
steve2006 replied to MadJam250's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Is there anything mentioned in the owner’s handbook? From what I understand a constant light indicates a tyre pressure problem and a flashing one a problem with the TPM system. The only sure way to diagnose is a fault code scan but the pressure sensors in the tyres being battery powered are known to fail. -
Looking at Car Mechanics magazine all the car servicing articles always included the white grease treatment of door hinges, catch plates, boot latch and bonnet latch. It takes just a few minutes but saves many hours compared to sorting a seized up bonnet catch or broken cable. The smear of petroleum jelly on battery terminals is another and as previously mentioned calliper slide pins lubrication not required on even Lexus service schedules.
