  1. Do these filters act on the air being blown through the seat or do they filter the air being sucked into the seat so if you pass wind whilst driving the smell is adequately removed before passengers begin to notice :) Obviously if the filters are missing altogether you will get those funny silent looks from passengers as you discretely press the one touch driver's window down switch.
  2. Did you just replace the contacts or the solenoid plunger as well? I got the complete kit when I did mine but did have a near heart stopping moment about 2 weeks after I did the job when the same symptoms reappeared, this time it was down to me, a slightly undertightened battery connection.
  3. Have you tried the calculator on the link below, easy to use just put your present and proposed measurements in and it will tell you the differences. http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
  4. That was another question asked in the quote, I answered yes and gave my username but the LOC was not in the dropdown list?
  5. UK Parcel delivery over Christmas and the New Year appears to have gone down the pan. I ordered electronic components on 29/12/2014 and paid for next day delivery by UPS. Having not arrived I phone the supplier on 31.12.2014 to be told it was "out on the van for delivery today and we'll refund your next day delivery charge" Roll onto 2/1/2015 and still no parcel again "it's being delivered on 5/1/2015, UPS are very busy" Perhaps they could take on some City Link staff then to fill the gap. This is only coming from Preston,I could have drove up there and back in 3 hours.
  6. They asked if I had access to another vehicle and I answered yes as I have a company van for commuting/work.
  7. THe price isn't even listed on Toyodiy.com so not looking good, you can't just buy the cover either just the whole unit minus the glass and indicator unit.
  8. No, as far as I know the "spanner light" is not fitted to any Lexus models, servicing has always been on fixed mileage/age.
  9. THe draw of a Lexus like the north and south poles of a magnet :) Welcome back to the fold.
  10. Hello and welcome to the LOC. You'll find lots of friendly members and good advice here. I've not even seen an NX in the metal yet ( no launch invite from Lexus Derby this time :( ) so can't comment on the car or recommend a dealer. As you are buying new it may be worth visiting a few local dealers and pitching them against each other for the best price and freebies. I did see somewhere recently about a website offering new cars at a discount but cannot remember what it was.
  11. Service details should be shown in your owner's manual/CD but according to the information in the link below a full service is recommended every 20,000 miles/2 years and an intermediate one (oil/filter/other bits) every 10,000 miles/yearly. If your last service was a full one an intermediate is now overdue by 1000 miles. http://taimurkhana.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/lexus-220d-service-schedule.html
  12. Ay up Ian hope you are well. AFAIK all JDM models only have the spacesavers so Altezza will be the same.
  13. Question 3 read or have read the OBDII codes to see what is stored and go from there, ignition coils have been known to fail but don't guess that's the most expensive way of fixing any car :) Any decent garage should be able to do it,doesn;t have to be Lexus. Oh and welcome to the LOC :)
  14. Just had my renewal from A-Plan at £359.90 ( including £29.00 for Legal Expenses) so let's say £330.90. I'd heard of a company called "Footman James" who specialise in classic car insurance so I thought I would give them a try with an online quote. Going throught the usual questions it gets to where you enter your registration number and once again as with all other websites mine isn't recognised so "please enter your vehicle details manually" pops up. Here we go my Celsior doesn't appear on the Toyota model dropdown list as usual so I tried Lexus as the make and lo and behold "Celsior" does appear there! I continued with the questions and answers declaring a no fault accident and my annual mileage would be limited to 3000 a year. The comprehensive cover also includes amongst other benefits agreed value for no extra charge, covers club meets and a policy excess of just £50.00 The quoted premium was £139.00 for the year, I couldn't get my credit card details in fast enough! Sorry A-Plan I won't be renewing this year. :)
  15. When I bought my plate I had to be put on the owners paperwork as the "nominee". Once this was done and the document was sent to me I could transfer the plate to my car ( this was done at one of the now closed DVLA local offices) They gave me a cerificate authorising the supply of new number plates, cancelled the old and issued a new tax disc and changed the MOT cert to the new registration number.
  16. I think mine is T135/70D/17 which is the standard Lexus size, I have a spare one that needs a new tyre (due to perishing not use) if you want it, Free to collect or can courier for the cost of.
  17. I have a spare Lexus fit spacesaver wheel the same as in the above picture for free if anyone wants it, does need a new tyre as it has perished over the years although unused on the road. Buyer collects or willing to courier for the cost of :)
  18. From past experience the brakes are no harder to bleed than any other vehicle, obviously it will take some time to refill the caliper's piston chambers so keep your eye on the reservoir level whilst doing the bleed and top up as required. I tend to use one of those rubber pipes with the one way valve which fits over the bleed nipple although once the bleed nipple is fully opened (maybe worth removing it completely initially) gravity should play its part with fluid flow. If you haven't already got the rebuild kit there is a good company call Bigg Red or is it Big Redd? which supplies all the necessary parts including rebuilt calipers.
  19. 50% profit then Chris, which headphones from the 70s are commanding high prices as I have a couple of sets lying around?
  20. Given the code I would consider having the car checked by a decent garage with good diagnostic equipment which can perform "live data" checks. This will provide a more accurate diagnosis and will check the operation of the O2 sensors both voltage wise and switching frequency. This doesn't have to be a Lexus dealer but make sure the one you choose has the necessary skills and equipment to do the job with preferably Lexus/Toyota trained staff.

    Hi

Hello and welcome to the LOC. We have a nice friendly club here with lots of members happy to advise on your potential purchase, feel free to post up a link to any potential buys.
  22. Popped into our local Co-op store today and whilst the other half did the shopping I decided to take a look at the little for sale cards they have on a board. Spotted one for "4 X Dunlop Winter Sport 4D tyres, 205/60R16 92H 5.5mm tread" but no price located just down the road. Gave the seller a call and he still had them so carefully drove around, turns out the guy used to work in the tyre industry and having recently sold his Nissan Quaskai the tyres didn't fit his new Suzuki. Rated up to 130MPH and load of 630Kgs so up to the job. Exactly as described with no damage or puncture repairs I bought them on the spot when he revealed the asking price! I've got a set of spare 16" rims so next job is to get them mounted :)
  23. I would be looking at a leather repair specialist in your area. There was a feature in Car Mechanics a while back and I seem to remember he was based in the Blackpool area,I'll have a search for the article.
  24. Take the offer from Lexus, there are 3 parties involved and they will all blame each other until the cows come home which will not resolve the issue and fix your car.
