  1. There was a member on here earlier in the week looking for an LS430 radiator, may put a bid in as I work in Liecestershire.
  2. Same around here in Derbyshire, I thought it strange that several weeks before the council were patching up a particular road with real tarmac the reason became clear when it was then all tarred and gritted over. This is an excuse for a road resurface, cheap and nasty. The very same county council (Derbyshire) have also taken to erecting illuminated traffic activated 30 MPH signs all over the county at some cost I would imagine while in the very same week 50 school crossing patrols are being axed.
  3. The exhaust was one of the retrograde steps taken with the LS430,whereas all the LS400s had stainless steel systems the 430 had mild steel hence the reason why you now need a new back box.
  4. Hello and welcome to the LOC, nice choice of both model and specs :)
  5. Mine was already converted before purchase but it is a small 4 wire unit loomed into the wiring at the rear of the dash, if not already done you will also need a rear fog light fitting or converted for UK use.
  6. Had you also asked for the little plug in eeprom integrated circuit from the central locking ECU located in the boot area you would only have to have changed the key blade.
  7. Bought for £200.00 sold on for £850.00 wait for the same car to appear on sale for £1500.00 with a FLSH and new cam belt in the Dudley area :)
  8. I'd be asking was it done when new and if no what's the point on 6 year old paint now. May as well spend the money on a good professional valet.
  9. I have a good spare one off a late LS400, you are welcome to pop over to me and see if it would fit and take it FOC , send me a PM if interested.
  10. Hello and welcome to the LOC. It should be located low down behind the front bumper sort of at the back of where the number plate sits.
  11. Welcome to the LOC. For insurance I would use one of the many online quote providers like compare the market then get a direct quote from the company. Lexus dealers are probably your best bet re warranties especially on the hybrid system, they generally offer an extended warranty for 1-3 years for an additional cost. Servicing costs are based on age/mileage so fixed term and again Lexus offer this fixed price on older examples for minor and major servicing.
  12. If you have a spare key try this and see if it works better as it may be the key is worn rather than a dodgy lock barrel. I have heard graphite powder is a good lock lubricant.
  13. Maybe should have told them to retain the old one so you could inspect it, it does belong to you after all. It's going to be difficult to tell if it is a new one by now as carbon deposits will have already built up inside it. Chances are if you do ask for the old one now it will have been disposed of.
  14. My driver's window has always done this, down around 4" and it rattles, above or below this no rattle. Never got around to finding the reason I just move it a bit if it's in the rattle zone.
  15. I noticed right at the end as he stepped onto it the board dipped down and probably grounded ?
  16. They look the job, did the dealer charge you for new wipers?
  17. I think we are now drifting way off topic here but hey, apparently the RX8 engines have ceramic tipped rotors which wear quite rapidly so causing low compression and therefore poor/non starting issues. As for the original topic smells like a scam to me.
  18. This may help. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/body/fdoorpanel.html You may not have to remove the panels just lubricate the window channels but be cautious using silicon spray on the felt window channels do not get it on the glass as it is almost impossible to remove, I've heard graphite power makes a good lubricant.
  19. Not sure if this is across the EBC range but I fitted their "ulimate" pads to my LS and they were squeally, juddered when gently applied and dust was horrendous with low mileage road use.
  20. Also take a look at the following link with a good reference to both jobs, whee it mentions removing the springs and dampers to remove the upper control arms you will find this can be done without removal by placing a scissor jack under the hub and jacking up to allow the bolts to be removed between the coils of the spring. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/suspension/
  21. I may have one from a 1997 series III I broke up for spares, I'll pop down to the shed and take a look for you. Good job it wasn't the headlight that got hit :)
