  1. Coolant level seems to be critical on these engines, top it up and see.
  2. Imagine driving down a quiet 30MPH road with little traffic and you see a slow moving tractor in front of you doing 20MPH. The road ahead is clear and it is safe to overtake, to make sure you get past and back to the correct side of the road you accelerate to over 30MPH and as you pass they get you over the limit.
  3. Clean the interior temperature sensor located on the drivers side lower centre console, they get clogged with dust and provide false readings to the CC ECU.
  4. Cheap chinese copy parts by any chance? Looks like metal fatigue probably caused by the use of poor quality steel, may be worth investing in OEM at around a hundred pounds a pair. I'm flying tomorrow so glad they don't fit this crap on aircraft
  5. Are the manual seat adjustments working as normal i.e. seat stills goes back/forward etc when you move the button?
  6. There's a picture tutorial somewhere, basically you have to remove the cork float dry it out and then give it a few coats of varnish before reassembly.
  7. Can you feel any pulsing through the brake pedal when it happens? I assume that non of the pads are down to the metal backing plates?
  8. Hello and welcome to the LOC Been given a CT200h! that's the way to get hold of a Lexus :) Got used to pulling out of a junction with no engine noise yet?
  9. The wheel arch black plastic trim is held with 4 or 5 philips head black self tapping countersink screws.
  10. As above does anyone know how many years warranty these batteries have, I think it may be 4 years?
  11. The fact that the dome light works with the switch to on confirms you have the 12 volt supply to the light from the dome fuse. The automatic operation of the "dome light" along with the ignition key lights and door puddle lights are controlled by the body ECU and if the rest of the functions controlled by this are working it may be a break in the wiring from the light to the ECU. Check the 10A Radio No.2 fuse as this also feeds the body ECU and confirm if the ignition key surround and puddle lights illuminate which if they are narrows down the search for the problem to just one wire.
  12. If you do the vacuum switch job yourself would you mind taking some photographs of the job, I would then be happy to do a new DIY tutorial to help other members faced with the same problem.
  13. If the setup is similar to the later LS400 models the steering wheel position is memorised along with the seat position so it may be worth setting the wheel position then hitting the seat memory button
  14. Sounds like a low oil level to me, I assume these engines have a dipstick so as above check the level now,the last thing you want is a damaged engine for the sake of a litre of engine oil.
  15. Providing it's an OEM replacement I wouldn't be unduly concerned, hopefully it should sort your problem. I take it the correct plug is fitted? The biggest failure I think is the heater going, usually the 2 same colour wires which can be confirmed by measuring the resistance.
  16. Hello, welcome to the LOC and congratulations on buying your 1st Lexus. Don't worry about the age mine is 22 in January, the oldest and the longest I ever owned a car.
  17. I have to ask, why would a SS system not be as quiet as an OEM system, my LS400 has an OEM stainless steel system and you can't get much quieter than the LS400, surely the noise levels can be accomodated into the required customer requirements of a custom made SS system.
  18. Is it just me or are there other members here who feel that HGV drivers have lost complete respect for other motorists? The reason I ask is that I drive a long wheelbase Ford transit van for business purposes after a gap from van driving for several years. The last time I drove a large van probably in the mid 90s lorry drivers tended to treat van drivers with the same respect we gave them, we are both driving for business purposes after all. It was commonplace to "flash" a HGV into lane 2 if they indicated to overtake and it was safe to do so,give you the alternate indicator flash seen as a thank you and they in turn would reciprocate by "flashing" you back into lane one. Not anymore the proceedure for HGVs now appears to indicate and immediately pull into your lane causing you to brake with any protest met with a two finger gesture on passing, if you do flash them out they now fail to flick the indicators or even wave as you eventually pass nevermind flash you back over when you finally pass them. Sitting in lane 2 of a dual carriageway for 3-4 miles overtaking another HGV is so common now that one section of the M42 now has a daytime ban on lane hogging HGVs. So is it just me or has the respect totally gone, I'd be particularly interested to hear it from the horse's mouth i.e. HGV drivers.
  19. Sorry about the climate control I sent you Rudy, just saw the UCF21 and forgot the one I had was a 1997 series III. To buy on Yahoo Japan you need to go through a 3rd party broker, they buy the part you want and then you have to pay them their total costs plus onward shipping costs to the UK plus commission.
  20. In the past we had a couple of meets in Doncaster, think it was on a retail park with a Vue cinema nearby. 1st time I had seen an ISF at one of them.
  21. Check ebay, is it now located in the West Midlands with a FLSH,new cambelt and described as immaculate for £1595.00 :)
  22. Worth a trip to view I think. Words of advice remove your own postcode from the Autotrader link, we all know where you live within a few houses, as a public forum some one may be looking for dishonest reasons and if you do buy this LS430 they know more or less where you live and you have just bought a nice Lexus.
