  1. Found this whilst browsing, US based but there are 2 Lexus models in the top 10. http://www3.forbes.com/business/10-cars-that-can-run-for-over-250000-miles/3/
  2. Fimally back in business. This picture makes them look totally discoloured they are better in real life, could do with a clean but take days to dry out afterwards.
  3. It's no problem, I was in the garage getting them out when you replied, still not uploading though.
  4. Ok, you can't wait so here's the picture. The mats have the Celsior logo not Lexus and it's a 5 piece set with the extra bit that fits over the rear transmission tunnel and is held in place with velcrose strips. PM me if interested for price. Sorry technical problem with attaching the picture, came out upside down now taking forever to load up, bear with me still working on it.
  5. I have a complete set of grey OEM mats from my other Toyota Celsior, I'll post up some pictures over the weekend. These are even thicker and better quality than OEM Lexus ones. I let a beige set of OEM mats go with the series IV LS400 I recently sold (car was silver)
  6. I was going to say the CPS also or the wiring to it, may be worth getting a hairdryer on it to see if it is water related although failure is generally down to heat sensitivity. You cpuld also disconnect the MAF and see if it starts without it. No EML I take it when the engine did run?
  7. Hello and welcome to the LOC. The present wheels look nice are they original Lexus ones?
  8. I wouldn't suggest leaving a dog in a car on a hot summers day regardless of ventilation, without air movement they all turn into greenhouses and you're liable to come back to a broken window when the dog is rescued from it. If just travelling in the car opening the rear windows slightly would I think provide a cool airstream into the boot area.
  9. I bought a replacement set for my works transit van from Halfords, can't remember the make but claimed to be 25% brighter and they do make a big difference. Osram and Philips seem to get good reviews.
  10. We're looking to organise some meets this year, in the past we have met in Sawley Derbyshire as it is fairly central for the M1 at junction 24 so a brisk drive up from Northampton.
  11. DIY import, sounds like fun,let us know how the process goes. I bought mine already prepared from a dealer in Blackpool 10 years ago with a converted mileage of 38,000, be aware that all JDM cars are speed limited to 180 KPH (113 MPH) and the FM radio frequencies are different. Sat nav is also fun in Japamese :)
  12. I don't have a photograph but looking at the exploded diagram it would appear to be attached by the usual plastic push in fixing, these can be removed carefully with fine long nose pliers under the cap and prise or a special trim removal tool available at car accessory shops, look like a forked screwdriver with a bend at the end for prising. The clips are pretty tough and tend not to break but are available from Amazon and the like. If you want the diagram send me a PM with your email address.
  13. They are very tight, I broke the type with the threaded bolt on my LS so bought a fork type hammer in one, this needed modifying slightly with an angle grinder but 3 hits with a lump hammer did the job. With the top section having popped out it may take a little more effort as you will have the rubber bushings on the lower arm absorbing the shock.
  14. They seem to be more popular in the USA, "Pearl White" seems to be very sought after and respected.
  15. They are normally wired in parallel so the only other cause is a broken wire between the working one and the faulty one.
  16. Hello and welcome to the LOC. With the age and mileage and I assume a FLSH you shouldn't have any problems, Lexus give a comprehensive warranty which can be extended ( haggle for a good deal).
  17. From what I can see on the exploded diagram there are 2 knock sensors both located on the passenger side of the engine around the exhaust manifolds.
  18. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Have you tried bouncing the car on the front RHS to see if it settles better, do the tyres have roughly the same tread depth and pressures? If it was lower I would have suggested checking the springs for a break but being higher probably not. Try repositioning the car on level ground and recheck.
  19. Good start to the new year for me, trying to squeeze through a pair of plastic bollards at the local Co-op. I managed to repair the other one after an accident a few years ago but no chance this time. No chance of finding another set either by the looks of this so back to the orange OEM ones.
  20. I'm no diesel expert but with this being at a specific RPM when the turbo begins it's job it may be worth taking a look for a split intercooler hose or a faulty boost pressure sensor. Have you had the ODBII codes read to see if there are any stored codes?
  21. PM me your email address and I'll send you the relevent section of the OEM manual detailing the fitting.
  22. A the post says details next year so I would assume the price will be revealed, in the meantime asking the same question 3 times in as many minutes will not reveal it any quicker :)
  23. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I have a 1994 Celsior which used to cost around the £300.00 mark for fully comp for the 1st 8 years of ownership (56 years old and 10 years + NCD). I used Flux and A Plan. Flux state LOC members get a discount but when I asked for a quote I didn't mention this until the end and was suddenly told the quoted price included the discount, amazing how they knew beforehand. Once the car reached 20 years old I qualified for Classic insurance which on renewal in January I have been quoted £134.00 with agreed value, SDP only ( commuting is £20.00 extra) and an agreed mileage of 3000 with Footman James. The only downside is you lose your NCD after 2 years unless you reinsure with standard insurance. Be nice to see some pictures of your import and details such as mileage. Are you having the conversion work done professionally?
  24. Exhaust heat shields can come loose especially the ones over the rear boxes and around the Y pipe cat end.
