    Front Bumper

There's a good selection on ebay, you may even get the correct colour to save the paint job. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.Xlexus+is250+breaking.TRS0&_nkw=lexus+is250+breaking&_sacat=0
  2. There is a known problem with the radar cruise control ECU which flags up this error. Check the receiver behind the front grill and located between the 2 horns for build up of crud/dirt and clean if required and make sure the grill itself is clear, other than that it may well be the ECU which is a known defect with a Toyota TSB issued for the replacement of it although given the age of the car I doubt Lexus would repair under warranty if this is the case. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/371689-help-pcs-check-system-cruise-check-system-errors-2.html
  3. Hello and welcome to the LOC. IIRC bank 2 is the passenger side of the engine and sensor 1 is the pre cat or upper of the 2 sensors so as you say nearest the front grille. The part number you quote I can confirm is correct for that part, price is 273.00 Euros from Lexus so I would do as you suggest and buy from the USA. The diagram below shows the sensor (89467B) and the wiring loom to the plug at the rear of the engine.
  4. IIRC the series IV LS400 was fitted with either conventional halogen or HID headlights. The HID lights have adjustors for both vertical and horizontal plane movement. If anyone would like the adjustment section of the OEM manual please send me your email address by PM.
  5. Try some of that thick nylon strimmer cord not the thin stuff but the kind used on petrol strimmers.
  6. Cheers Mike, only just seen your message
  7. New ebayer so maybe the reason why the description is vague and the lack of quality photographs. Looks reasonable and if you are only 20 miles away you may as well go and see it, may be a problem if the seller doesn't respond to your messages. Mileage is nothing if there is a service history.
  8. Sorry can't see any picture on your post ? If it's the auxillary bonnet catch you mean the part number should be 53550-30080 priced around £45.00 from Lexus.
  9. The location of the car and the phrase "very nice indeed" does ring alarm bells, it is also on fleabay.
  10. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Regarding supercharging I think there is one being sold on the forums :) Here it is http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/106388-tte-supercharger-others/#entry941370
  11. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Was the car parked facing downhill by any chance? Even though the boot seal looks OK the lip on which it fits can rust and this swells up the seal, I would remove the seal and check under it.
  12. This link shows the height sensor rod position on the rear offside. http://www.evansweb.info/2009/11/23/ls400-ride-height-sensor-repair/ The wheel nuts are the chromed dome type ones, I have a box full so send me a pm with address details and I'll post you some for the price of the postage.
  13. Be very careful with the quality, I bought some cheap Chinese ebay ones that went short circuit and took out my integration relay.
  14. Reliability and legality would be my concerns, the spelling mistakes alone in the listing put me off. One section says includes cooling fan, read further down and no cooling fan required. Since when do LEDs needs a CPU to drive them? IP65 then IP68 rated so which is it,the latter suggests they can be totally submerged in water so good for submarines? Give it time when they are tried and tested and the price is down to a tenner a pair.
  15. Lexus usually fit their own security system which is unlikely to be Thatcham approved, there is normally an option to select manufacturer's own system on insurance enquiries. May be worth a call to your dealer to confirm but this is what the AA have stated for the IS300h "You pretty much get everything as standard here, which means keyless locking and ignition - a useful feature to remove the hassle of fumbling for a key in a dark car park. Deadlocks, an immobiliser and a comprehensive alarm system complete the defenses."
  16. The headlight alignment problem could be a broken height sensor rod on the rear suspension but surprised your seemingly over zealous MOT tester didn't spot it, if it does need one let me know and I'll make you one. How did he know the wheel nuts were missing if the hub caps were fitted? I have some OEM wheel nuts, which type do you need or send me a picture.
  17. From what I know you need to remove the drive shaft from the hub by disconnecting the shaft at the differential flange joint then remove the centre domed cap on the hub, remove the cotter pin, cage washer and securing nut then tap out the drive shaft with a copper mallet.
  18. Amayama price is £253.26 but then add on shipping plus UK import taxes and you're not far off UK Lexus prices, problem is the car was only made for a year so there will never be an aftermarket alternative. If you can find a good welding place it may be worth having it welded as the pipe is very similar to the Y pipe on the LS400 a known weak spot. Just goes to show how cuts have been made in quality, my LS400 is now 22 years old and on the same exhaust system from new. Part numer for the back boxes is 17430-31540, the gasket (17451-31010) comes up at around £35.00 but seems to be incorrectly priced, the rubber mountings should be reuseable.
  19. That would be the Y pipe on the LS Mike, don't forget we have mostly stainless steel systems on ours, the later models including the LS430 and GS now have mild steel. Another reason why we tend to hang onto what we have.
  20. I have a spare one, PM me your details, reservoir is free just pay me P+P and if I'm down Buckinghamshire I want a test drive :) Make sure you get a new O ring for the reservoir.
  21. I bought a set of rubber winter mats from Aldi last year for around £15.00,really thick, heavy and non slip. They are designed so you can cut them to shape for a good fit, even made the holes so they fit on the retaining clips.
  22. You will be lucky to find these secondhand with the car only being produced from 2013 onwards, may be worth trying one of those "find a part" websites for one that's been in a rear end shunt. The parts are available from Lexus but no prices are given on my database Grille Radiator Lower No.2 Part No. 53113-53060 Extension Sub Assy Front Bumper 52102-53030 Nearly forgot...Welcome to the LOC :)
  23. The V5 is one of the last things I look at when viewing a car, look at the photographs. check the MOT history to confirm claimed mileage, ask questions, if you're still keen go and view then look through the papaerwork.
