  1. If it follows the LS400 system there is an individual ECU in each door controlling both window and locking functions. I would strip down the door and check the wiring especially where it passes into the door from the A frame for damage, can't help with voltages as have no manual for the LS430 Height sensor unit is the favourite for the air suspension problem.
  2. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I like the way you say I've just bought my 1st ISF, are you planning on buying more! Still out of my price range so looks like I'll be sticking to my LS400 still a V8 though but slightly down on BHP compared to the ISF. Have driven one on a test day with Lexus, nearly pulled my head off! Happy ISF motoring.
  3. At last a use for all those old 35mm film cases, clever idea with a zero cost solution :)
  4. Did you get the chance to have a look at the faulty cats Mike? Just wondering what they look like internally as I know with good ones you can see light through them.
  5. Sad world we all live in unfortunately, typical police response of here's a crime number, contact your insurer.
  6. I don't know where he gets the part number from but it should be 69050-30370 and it will fit all GS300 models from 03/93 to 07/97. New price from Lexus is around £150.00!
  7. If you have a half decent garage nearby they should be able to release the lock on the boot release at a reasonable price. If you were nearer I would have done it for you. I have a spare owner's manual for the early GS300 if you need one, send me a PM with your address details and I'll pop it in the post to you
  8. You need to determine whether it's the AC that is faulty or one of the actuator flaps stuck in the hot position, does the air coming from the centre vents not change temperature at all when the climate control is moved from hot to cold?
  9. Hello and welcome to the LOC. You certainly don't see many around, you were very lucky to find one with such low mileage and in such good condition. It was a SC that left me standing at the lights in my LS400, until recently I thought SC meant supercharged! Take good care of it and keep up the servicing and it has years left in it yet.
  10. It could be many things and difficult to find the cause being so intermittent but there have been reports of ignition switch failure on the later LS400 model. It was of course in park or neutral when it failed to start as I've occasional left mine in D and then got back in and tried to start it getting the same symptoms.
  11. They will fit OK not sure if they will fill the arches though?
  12. Hello and welcome to the LOC Technically I am also a Toyota owner with 2 Celsiors but also have a late model LS400. So what are the plans for the IS220d?
  13. Modern society where guilt counts for nothing again, I just wouldn't be able to do that to someone elses car and just go. It may be worth approaching both the council and supermarket but chances are they will hide behind the Data Protection Act or Human Rights Act so as not to disclose but if the incident is reported to the police they may gain access in order to identify the offender but again they may have bigger issues to deal with like speed traps! Difficult to judge from pictures but most of it may polish out, or consider taking it to a local paint shop and see what they say.
  14. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Finding decent one owners cars is getting harder by the day, any pictures to show us? Sorry can't help regards the suspension work but someone will come up with recommendations, funny about your son and rusty nuts and bolts I paint mine!
  15. Talking of the M42, at the other end where it joins the M1 as the A42 there is a matrix sign which commonly has the following display M1 1 MILES 2 MINUTES. A little embarrassing that a government department can't be grammatically correct.
  16. The car is now 10 years old so for the cost involved I would go ahead and replace it now.
  17. Quoted on my post from over 2 years ago, I stand corrected
  18. Serpentine belt top idler pulley bearing is the usual cause, mine used to do it in cold weather until it warmed up. You can either change the complete pulley or just the bearing which I did for a few pounds.
  19. Not far away from me in Leicester, tempted to take a look if work has been done by Lexus.
  20. Good to hear it's a warranty job, reliability seems to be good my LS400 is all original on the AC including the gas after 21 years
  21. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Supercharger next :)
  22. Could you post up the link?
