  1. No problem always glad to help another member if I can as other members have helped me in the same position.
  2. Sounds as bad as Apple, sorry support for your 6 year old Macbook is no longer available, why don't you buy a new one and a Time Capsule as this also is incompatible with new Macbooks!
  3. Nice one, thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your tutorial.
  4. Strange as there are no CD ROM copies around, there is this though if you can wait a while http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-LEXUS-LS430-LS-430-ELECTRICAL-WIRING-DIAGRAM-Service-Repair-Manual-/291688297719?hash=item43e9fa34f7:g:sUUAAOSwuAVWxlVG
  5. That is where the radiator drain ***** is so sounds like they missed the block drains, take a look at the link below which describes the locations for the block drains. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/cooling/coolant.html
  6. Just a bit of info regarding the coolant amount, did your mechanic drain the block as there are drain cocks on each bank?
  7. My year 2000 GS300 had 17" wheels fitted also so would be an option, the fact that they are Lexus branded is in your favour as opposed to aftermarket.
  8. I think your ISF is haunted, I would sell it to me quick with a huge discount.
  9. Need something on my JDM LS I can fit a microwave oven between the tyre and arch, looks good on yours.
  10. Can't see the picture on your post, the VIN plate will provide details of the colour needed, where are you in Norfolk as it is a big county.
  11. Nice one Stuart, I am going to organise a midlands area meet when I get back to the UK.
  12. Removing the top nut is exactly the same, the boot liner is different as there is no toolbox present on that side on the series IV. Where it says 2 nuts on the tutorial there is only one on the IV on the boot mounting.
  13. Feel around the carpets under the dash on both sides, heater matrix can leak on these confirmed if carpet feels wet.
  14. From what I remember from doing mine it's a case of removing the top nut with a wide blade screwdriver ( mask around the aeriel in case of slips!) then remove the trim in the boot. (Various clips and push fittings). There is a single 10mm bolt to remove then a multi plug for the electrics and a connection for the actual aerial lead ( pulls out of a socket). The whole lot should then be free to remove. Chances are it's just the insert that has failed so less than £20.00 for a replacement on ebay. There is a tutorial for fitting this on www.lexls.com albeit for the earlier model but very similar. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/powerantenna.html
  15. You may get a VSC error when first started which should go off after a short period of time
  16. Battery here too, more unusual for a failure in warmer weather but can happen at any time.
  17. That looks like a serious case of metal fatigue, difficult to see exactly which part it is that has failed but looks like the front drive pulley/clutch assembly. Chances are the parts will not be available individually only as a complete compressor, the new cost from Lexus is over £1100 so I would be looking for a decent 2nd hand replacement from another 220d and then get an AC specialist fit it. Is the drive belt still on?
  18. Need to go into Nottingham later so assumed we would do the usual by driving in the LS to the tramstop, leave the car in the free secure car park and then go into the city on the tram, quick convenient and cheap when you consider parking charges. But no wifey insists we take the bus directly from home so no car driving involved, I have tried my best to argue my case. Well Lexus do make excellent cars so I'm quite excited now waiting to try one of their buses, never heard of the model though it apparently has 91 on the front and back, I hope it's an LS 91 with heated leather seats.
  19. I don't think he's robin anyone at £400. Been well looked after, apparently always put into a cave at night.
  20. They perhaps did you a favour by not giving you the money when you work out how much interest you would have paid on an extra 20k over 25 years plus the car would probably have been long gone before you finally paid it off.
  21. Re the wheel refurb post it seems to be a subtle way of advertising I think, happy to let it ride for now but needs monitoring should it become more blatent with links and/or contact details.

    regards,

    Steve

  22. The shims on mine consist of 2 parts, a blue painted one with elongated slots goes on first and then a stainless steel one over that, all original after 22 years on the car. I always coat them fully with copper grease and they are still as new.
