  1. Manual transmission, put the clutch in and see if the noise alters, thinking duff DMF here.
  2. Check for the wear lip as previously mentioned then get a second opinion from an independant garage.
  3. How long are your pads lasting? 20,000 miles sounds low but this can depend on your driving style and type of driving, constant stop start driving in town will cause faster wear than country driving. Is the car garaged as if left outside every time the discs get wet they will rust removing another layer of metal when next used. Is there a visible wear lip on the outer edges of the discs to confirm the claimed wear or is this just a figure from a Lexus dealer regarding the thickness. As a comparison my LS400 discs are all originals after nearly 90,000 miles and 22 years.
  4. Unlike another well known company's prices Lexus parts are never knowingly undersold! Please lets us know the outcome of your investigations.
  5. I'm also no expert on alignment but obvious as it may be have you checked the tyre pressures and the condition of the tyres for cuts/bulges etc. You could also swop the wheels from front to back (not side to side though) and see if the situation changes. Where did you take the car for the alignment? "The best we can do" wouldn't fill me with confidence regarding their ability. Any advisories on the last MOT regarding suspension component wear? Another possibility is a sticking front brake caliper, check to see if one is much hotter than the other after a run by feel but take care when doing so.
  6. All very good advice as per usual from fellow club members, I would suggest seeing as you need to dismantle the front braking system you replace those advisory LBJs at the same time, not a lot extra in time and around £120.00 the pair for OEM Lexus replacements.
  7. This company has a list of makes and models for towbar wiring but nothing comes up when I click on the Lexus IS200, may be worth giving them a call to see if they will provide the PDF for a small charge. http://www.rydertowing.co.uk/car-data/list-products.aspx Either this or trace each wire for rear lights, brake lights and indicators to the bulb sockets to get the colour codes.
  8. Same PCD, offset and bore so good start there, plug and play so go for it. Dependant on wheel/tyre size the speedometer may be slightly out but if you have a sat nav easily checked against the actual reading. Welcome to the LOC.
  9. Sounds worse than my V8, I would certainly keep an eye on it, to get an accurate reading brim the tank do a reasonable mileage and then re brim. Work out the mileage between fill ups and calculate the MPG.
  10. Is it the rubber hose connection that is leaking as it may just be a case of cutting off the end and refitting with a new clamp. If it is one of the metal pipes on the cooler a radiator repair specialist should be able to rebraze the joint. New replacement is part number 32913-53020 priced at a mere £300.00 from Lexus!
  11. One of the last series III models on an R plate, that colour tends to suffer from paint fade but looks OK on yours, get rid of those floor mats asap! Amazing where these cars appear from I never saw this one for sale, like to divulge where from and how much? Welcome back to the fold
  12. I don't think Lexus ever used 15" wheels on the IS, 16 was the standard size probably due to brake caliper clearance issues with anything smaller.
  13. It is mounted on the transmission housing under the car, 2 bolts and the wiring loom to remove, look at section 17 on the link for pictures. http://lexus.solar3.eu/rm/rm684e/m_at_0029.pdf
  14. Arrr my mistake looked at the profile and saw IS200, Ok you may need 2 sensors at triple the price!
  15. Genuine sensor on link below for £50.00 plus half an hours labour to fit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-OEM-Lambda-Oxygen-O2-Sensor-for-Lexus-IS-200-Toyota-Yaris-Vitz-/171453246492?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item27eb68ec1c:g:b1YAAOSwxH1UDvBG.
  16. The temperature gauge is fed from a seperate single wire sensor so that's why this still read correctly
  17. First thing to do is have the OBDII fault codes read, even if the EML is not illuminated there may be fault codes stored in the ECU which may help diagnose the problem. Guesswork diagnostics is the most expensive way to repair a car, although my money from your symptoms would be on the CPS.
  18. Not entirely sure where you mean, could you get a picture and post it up?
  19. PCD stands for Pitch Circle Diameter which basically is the distance between the holes in the wheel where the wheel nuts fit. Wheels with a PCD of 108 will not even fit on the hub of a Lexus as the studs will not line up to the holes in the wheel. You can get adaptor plates but personally I wouldn't trust them to ensure my wheels were secure. Spigot rings, in the centre of each wheel is a hole of a certain diameter called the bore, on Lexus this hole needs to be 60.1mm. If the wheels have a bore bigger than this you can buy spigot rings to reduce the original size to 60.1mm but you need to know what the bore is to get the correct spigot rings. I recently bought some wheels and the bore was 72 so I had to buy some spigot rings 72 to 60.1 Offset is basically how far the wheels stick out of the arches and how close they are to the suspension inside the arch.
  20. That's the one, mine developed a crack in the casing some time ago managed to repair it or so I thought only for the glued bit to break again sending the push button into space never to be found again, is that one a spare for sale?
  21. Just noticed you are after replacement remote keys, these are extremely rare as they are the single side button types. Not sure if they are still available from Lexus USA but expect to pay stupid money if they are as the kit comes with 2 keys which will need cutting and the memory chip for the ECU,unlike the later 2/3 button keys there are no after market case replacements for broken keys.
  22. I would think they are the same for all models, may have a spare one for the cost of the postage.
  23. Hello Matt and welcome to the LOC. Looks like a Pearl white on the paint, well sought after in the USA.
