  1. Hello Taylr and welcome to the LOC. As above take it to have the AC checked out, places like Kwik Fit usually offer a free check but don't feel obliged to have any work done there, once you know what the problem is buy yhe parts yourself then have them fitted. A common cause is the condenser which is mounted in front of the radiator so subject to damage from stones and weather corrosion.
  2. It does look nice, seen those headlights/indicators on the US models, retrofit Depo crystal ones I think. Looks like it is fetching the money with 2 bids up to 3K. The Gumtree one is the 90,000 miler I guess, have you also seen the other one with 55,000 claimed mileage too?
  3. Parking with the car facing downhill can fllod the boot, if you look in the rear corners of the opening you will see a black plastic moulding which is part of the rear window trim. Water builds up here on both sides then overflows into the boot. Several owners have drilled holes in the rear corners and then fitted drain pipes leading out under the car.
  4. Based at Newark Showground Nottinghamshire this year 8/11 August. Is anyone planning on going to this?
  5. Shame the whole front bumper of the other car didn't fall off complete with numberplate attached, they may have left that behind as well as the damage to your car, there again they would probably still deny being involved, total scum! It may cut out but best to seek professional help.
  6. Mirrors are held by 2 clips at the bottom and hinges at the top. Using one of those yellow dusting cloths, feed it in from the bottom behind the glass and coming out the bottom sides. Gently tug both sides together to release the clips, once released gently remove the duster then pull the glass out from the bottom then lift it slightly to disengage the top hinges.
  7. I fear thet you may have bought the wrong car for your needs and one of these may on this occasion been a better choice, not Lexus I know but there are exceptions to everything Unfortunately when it comes to spirited driving it has to be a manual gearbox. When I test drove the ISF at launch we were not allowed out on our own but with a race trained driver who first demonstrated, shall we say the brown pants style. Never got his name but he could certainly drive the thing as you want to.
  8. Part 89422-30030 (SENSOR, WATER TEMPERATURE (FOR E.F.I.)) was found on the following models: Date range Model Frames/Options Found in diagram 01/1999-06/2005 LEXUS IS200/300 GXE10,JCE10 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 05/2001-06/2010 LEXUS SC430 UZZ40 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 08/1997-12/2004 LEXUS GS300/430 JZS160,UZS161 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 01/2005-11/2011 LEXUS GS30/35/43/460 GRS19*,URS190,UZS190 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 10/1994-07/2000 LEXUS LS400 UCF20 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 08/2000-07/2006 LEXUS LS430 UCF30 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 01/1998-07/2007 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER UZJ100 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 01/1998-07/2007 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER HDJ100,UZJ100 84-04: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 08/2002-07/2007 LEXUS LX470 UZJ100
  9. I would think that as brake pads are wear and tear items and therefore not covered under a Lexus warranty they would not invalidate the warranty on the rest of the car. May be worth a call to Lexus warranty?
  10. Blimey, I thought you had put too many zeros on the pad prices but no, what is so special about the pads to justify the cost and what's the fitting charge?
  11. Never seen these before, before I looked at the pictures I thought you meant gloves with 5 fingers Good find for the 7 euro ones and thanks for the heads up. Shipping costs from the USA are becoming stupid, add in the cost of import duties and it becomes a non starter. I looked the other day into the cost of sending a 1 kg parcel to the USA and it was around 12 euros, those gloves weigh nowhere near that.
  12. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Just put a set of 18s on mine, aftermarket Rials. Finding a good set of OEM Lexus wheels can be a pain, you will either get a set that need completely refurbishing or another set that have been done all priced accordingly. Bear in mind non gold members on here cannot offer items for sale either on forums or by PM so responses will be limited, have you looked on all the usual places like ebay and Gumtree? I found mine on Pre Loved.
  13. I'll have a look in my shed, should have some suitable ones in there for you.
  14. According to the exploded diagram there should be 2 drain pipes fairly close together, passing through grommets to the underside of the car, exiting somewhere around where the engine and transmission meet.
  15. As mentioned the front is normally held with a single screw from the rear of the grille and 2 locking tabs, the rear is self adhesive with 2 or 3 locking pins. Gentle warming with a hairdryer assists in rear badge removal or a spray of isopropyl alcohol temporary softens the adhesive.
  16. As Malc mentioned I have a JDM version of the Lexus LS400 badged as. Toyota Celsior, in Japan there is no requirement for their cars to have an EGR system so mine doesn't have it. They run no different and of course don't have the cracked pipe problem. It has been suggested that worn engine and transmission mounts can cause excessive movement of the engine which results in the EGR pipe fracturing so it may be worth checking these although deleting the system may be the best option.
  17. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I seem to remember the battery on the hybrids needs to be a special type and includes a temperature sensor, did you replace it with like for like?
  18. Amusing how Lexus determine if brake fluid needs changing by looking at the colour of it, brake fluid should be replaced at intervals as specified by the manufacturer,it should be checked between those periods by measuring the water content and boiling point. Saying it is dirty is not the correct method of doing the above.
  19. Bluesman original link is to the one at 80,000 miles, V reg and green, the other one is for a 1996 model.
  20. You can pick up a small ultrasonic cleaning bath for around £25.00.
  21. It looks like an incorrect mileage entry by the MOT tester hitting a 9 instead of a 4 as the rest add up?
  22. What year is it? The clear indicators and rear lights are aftermarket replacements, mine has clear indicators as they make the car look more modern but my rear lights are smoked darker. The clear indicators have become hard to find now, a few years ago a full set was around £40.00. I have a spare set of original orange ones for the 1990-1994 model.
