  1. I've noticed more recently that there seems to be fewer LS400s being offered for sale on the likes of ebay and Autotrader and those that are there seem to be commanding higher prices. I think the time has come where decent examples with reasonable mileage are now drying up. Perhaps my £850.00 investment in my 134,000 mile 1999 2 previous owner example will pay off once I have replaced the timing belt.
  2. Excellent idea.....have you looked out of your window recently...there is a long queue of Lexus cars wanting to use your weeks subsciption!
  3. I have a scrap set of 16" LS400 wheels and tyres you can have if they are of any use to you
  4. Eurocarparts seem to be like DFS with a constant sale, last weekend 30% off, this weekend Halloween discount, next weekend....big bonfire night weekend discounts?
  5. Hello and welcome to the LOC. There doesn't appear to be a UK supplier but as usual there are plenty over in the USA. If you do a search you will find various suppliers over there with prices around £700 including shipping, you may of course also get hit for import duties. I have no idea if these are good or bad it is just an example but take a look. http://pbbrakes.com/street-coilovers-kits/lexus/rx/lexus-rx300-330-350-4wd-03-09-coilover-suspension-kit.html The RX was also produced with conventional suspension so you could convert using OEM parts.
  6. You should already have it in your profile section, if not let me know and I will send as a PM.
  7. No problem I was just showing that as an example and stated the correct manuals do appear on ebay from time to time. I certainly wasn't aware of the Haynes version. All of my OEM manuals are for LHD versions, yes there are differences but all the important bits are there.
  8. There is a Haynes manual for the RX300 (Toyota Highlander). There are a set of OEM manuals on ebay but for the 2000 model year, they do turn up occasionally. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-Lexus-RX300-Factory-Workshop-Shop-Service-Repair-Manual-Set-Vol-1-2-/122196575160?hash=item1c737bc3b8:g:Sq8AAOSwNuxXb-Tj
  9. Hi Carl, just moved your boot liner into the for sale section incase you wondered where it had gone.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  10. Difficult to say for sure but I would check the casings for similarities and then the fixing points to see if they line up. To be absolutely sure you would have to swap over the unit from his car to yours, not usually a difficult or time consuming job.
  11. Colin, have a good look for foreign objects in the seat runner, the one nearest the transmission tunnel often gets coins or other bits dropped down there which could jam the mechanism. I will also send you the exploded diagram of the seat base.
  12. I bought a small amount of leather paint/dye from the company below because my shift lever was very tatty. I didn't go for an exact colour match but it worked fine and still remains so many years later plus I still have 70% left in the bottle. If you look at their website they do offer quite a few off the shelf colours for Lexus models but also offer a custom matching service if you can supply a small sample perhaps from under a seat. I think they also do various leather repair kits. I also bought a bottle of leather aroma spray which comes with a pump action spray bottle, makes the car smell factory fresh again, I think everyone who attended the last midlands meet tried it out. I recently obtained a quote from a local leather specialist to have all my seats repaired/refurbished,the front passenger one now has a split in one of the base panels and they quoted £550.00 to replace the panel and sort out the others, I suppose I could get away with leaving the rears as they rarely get used but then may have matching issues. Anyway the link http://www.dynamixdyes.com/leather-colours-12-w.asp
  13. There has to be something very special about ISF front disc and pads....the price for all other IS models is £295.00 supplied and fitted by Lexus under their fixed price repair system, can you opt for the non gold plated ones.
  14. The diode pack consisting of 6 diodes in a 3 phase alternator merely rectify or convert the AC output to DC, the voltage regulator controls the DC output voltage dependent on the load demands. The car battery which has inherent capacitance provides smoothing.
  15. The Upper Control Arm is the part you need as you cannot separate the ball joint, takes about an hour to fit and if you are planning on selling there are aftermarket ones around.
  16. As Tigerfish says it is a grommet, the other side is called a......Wallace.
  17. According to the Lexus website an extended warranty is offered for vehicles up to 10 years old or 140,000 miles but at £1495 for 12 months! http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty-and-insurance/#LexusCareExtendedWarranty Click on the Terms and conditions for more details.
  18. If the spanner is grey I would think it would be red if a service was due, perhaps it is telling you the next service is due in 7542 miles based on mileage and not time. Aacording to the USA version of the manual services are due every 6 months or 5000 miles, it may be wise to have a chat with your local dealer.
  19. Hello Laurent and welcome to the LOC. We also have many old drivers who are forced to drive the LS400 models and many younger drivers who drive the more sporty models. My LS400 is almost as old as you.
  20. Hi and welcome to the LOC. What does this tuning box look like?
