  1. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Nice looking car you have there, I also own a JDM Model Celsior.
  2. Didn't realise car was immobile, nothing really stopping you removing the broken pipes and physically checking the type of union against the website pictures. If you have a vernier gauge you could even measure the thread.
  3. Either the transmission has not been put back correctly aligned ( check mountings of looseness or damage) or the gear selector linkage is misaligned. I would take it back to the garage who did the work and asked them to check.
  4. Hello and welcome to the LOC. First question is the servicing up to date particularly the spark plugs? There is also. VVTI oil filter which often gets overlooked but when clogged gives problems.
  5. I left a message for my mechanic to call me back but still waiting. From what I can tell they will either be 10 x 1.0 or 10 x 1.5 but then you need to know if they are short or long thread. The company below sell them in multipacks and may be able to advise. https://www.beal.org.uk/automotive/brake-pipe-nuts.html?page=all Another solution is to call into a local friendly garage and ask if you could buy one of each then once the size is established pop back and buy the rest from them.
  6. My local body shop Mike, Autokolor at Riddings, Derbyshire. They did a good job the last time and same again, he also gave me the left over paints in little plastic tubs for touch ups. Even washed and waxed the car before collection.
  7. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I seem to remember an article in Car Mechanics magazine a few years ago about this product, I will dig through them and try and find it and let you know what they said. If there is no record of it being done it may be a good idea to remove and clean the EGR valve as they do apparently clog up regularly. There are some good tutorials about including I think a video version. Like most diesel cars with DPFs fitted make sure you give it a good long high speed run at least monthly if the majority of your driving is short local runs.
  8. Change the capacitors and you should be as good as new with the ECU.
  9. Job done for £150.00 also had the scuff on the rear bumper done for an extra £60.00 after I reversed into a hedgehog.
  10. Sorry, yes I was assuming a series II, hopefully the series III has a conventional braking system. Fuel cap gasket is available separately under part number 77300-50020 priced around £15.00.
  11. I think that the brake booster was the main reason I sold the GS300 I bought as a temporary replacement when the LS400 was accident damaged back in 2010. Having said that it still seems to be running fine as I see it occasionally. From what I recall on start up there should be a pumping/grinding noise from the brake unit as it activates for a few seconds then it should only make the noise again when the brake pedal is pressed repeatedly. Pulling the EFI fuse and leaving it out for a few minutes normally resets the ECU and the stored codes.
  12. My local independent garage replaced my rear pipes last year for the MOT, I'll give them a call and ask what unions they used. They only charged me £40.00 to supply and fit them. You can buy the 2 rear pipes ready made and shaped from Lexus Tube Rear Brake No.9 part number 47329-50031 Nearside. Tube Rear Brake No. 8 part number 47328-50031 Offside. Priced around £15.00 each. The front to rear one has 2 types dependent on whether the car has traction control or not, priced around £50.00 from Lexus.
  13. Earlier model LS400s, usually JDM imports with air suspension had a switch located in the boot which needed to be in the off position before jacking up the car. It may be worth checking the 430 isn't similar.
  14. I tried to compare the 2 different model years but cannot find part numbers for the complete seat as all the bits are listed as individual items, the 220d seems to have listings from 05 to 08 then 08 to 10 only so not easy to say if 2012 seats would fit either mechanically or electrically. Talking of electrics bear in mind that the seat will have side airbags fitted so take precautions when doing any work on the seat, primarily ensuring the battery is disconnected and the back up circuits are allowed to discharge.
  15. Sounds like a cooked engine to me, I would be checking the cylinder compressions as a 1st move, if there are no obvious signs of external coolant loss it has to be going somewhere.
  16. Ah ha, the mystery owner has joined us, I never saw this one for sale, was it on the island all it's life? Welcome to the LOC.
  17. Here you go https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=Lexus+sc430&commit=Search Mine seems to be the rare one https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=Toyota+Celsior
  18. Hello Jack and welcome to the LOC, Nice find with that low mileage, feel free to post up pictures. I think there is a website where you can check how many of a particular model are still on the road and SORN.
  19. I've heard in the past the radio code is the last 4 numbers of the VIN if it is coded.
  20. There's nothing in the dealer option list. http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RXh_with_nav_LPS.pdf
  21. Hello Benjamin and welcome to the LOC. The first thing I would check on the RX for an error code is the 12 Volt auxiliary battery,. If this is not up to the job it can cause many faults including those you have. Apologies for the late reply I have only just noticed your post.
  22. Sorry for the late response, I'm not too familiar with geometry set up but I read somewhere to mark any adjustable part to ensure it goes back where it was then have an alignment check done. The US LOC tends to have more members with lowered suspension mods, it may be worth posting on there also for more responses.
