Looking at that striker plate I would for the cost of around £6.00 replace it (part number 64621-53010) and then get some white spray grease on the catch. See if the securing bolts on the striker and catch have elongated holes as these will allow some adjustment also.

I would also suggest that you remove the wheels at least twice a year, particularly after the winter salt season to clean the inner rims thoroughly where the finish is normally not to the same quality as the facing surfaces. Corrosion tends to start on the inner rim edge and then spread towards the outer face of the wheel. This also give you the chance to check the unseen tyre sidewall for damage. Also wash out your arches when the wheels are off to get rid of road salt, grit and mud accumulation.

Curious to know exactly what they do on a full service given no oil or filter no spark plugs and I guess regenerative braking, maybe just the tyre pressures -
Apple Using Lexus Autonomous Cars
steve2006 replied to Jgtcracer's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
So very true plus add in some Apple quirks and you will probably the vehicle has no reverse and shuts down completely a second after the 10% low charge warning. As for software updates Apple never seem to fix the bugs for the previous OS x version but make you feel a lot better with upgraded graphics and "improved" itunes. I wonder what the basic price will be given Apple prices!! -
Hello and welcome to the LOC. What a brilliant first post with lots of pictures and a great detailed write up! The car looks excellent with all the subtle modifications, is an LPG kit cheaper to buy and install in Poland compared with the UK? Regarding the 3 defective air struts after a new MOT did not not consider consider appealing the pass result with VOSA as it sounds like it should have been failed and did you contact the previous owner to discuss this major and expensive problem? At the end of the day you have done a great job and obviously spent some money but got the end result you needed. Just thought could you let me know which agent you used for Yahoo Japan please?

The LOC does not condone the purchase or use of non genuine Lexus software as per the Club's T&Cs the relevant section being quoted below. "Don’t break the law. Don’t post about things that break the law, or that might encourage others to break the law." -
You have to remove the panel below to access the hinge screws, see the picture below taken from a post on CL. The screws are covered by plastic inserts which need to be prised out to get to the screws.

Anyone know this car?
steve2006 replied to Flake's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
MOT history shows it needed new tyres at 92,000 and again at 100,000 are these normal wear patterns for ISF front tyres? I would certainly be looking at a full check for possible repaired front end damage given the tyre wear and the time it has been for sale. Dealer states mileage at 99,999 but this was 100693 in January 2017? -
LS400 1996 Poor idle/ engine cutting out
steve2006 replied to PeterF's topic in Engine & Transmission
Hi Malcolm, There was an upgraded ECU available although this will possibly not be the case today. The original Engine ECU was 89661-50270, the upgrade was 89661-50271 and from what I remember this was to overcome the stalling issue. Have you also checked the IACV for the sticky bearing problem? Check out this thread from our USA club. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/72023-95-ls400-ecu-upgrade/ -
LS400 1996 Poor idle/ engine cutting out
steve2006 replied to PeterF's topic in Engine & Transmission
There was a recall for this fault many years ago when the engine ECU was replaced with an updated version, take a look on clublexus for ECU capacitor problems and as Steve suggests try cleaning your TB. Finally welcome to the LOC. -
Seal off the broken bit with a small bolt and loctite them buy one of these, drill a new hole, self thread a suitable adaptor and loctite then reattach the vacuum pipe. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSP-Taper-Thread-x-Hose-Tail-End-Connector-Brass-Fitting-for-Air-Water-Fuel-/121360796379?var=&hash=item1c41aacadb:m:mak604JmSq7b7P32JxHXWCQ

These should suffice providing another 15mm of clearance on the 4 pot front callipers, the wheels should clear the callipers on the rear as they are single pot without spacers but may look odd with the fronts sticking out more. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-GT-Hubcentric-Bolt-On-Wheel-Spacer-5x114-60-1-15mm-M12x1-5-Toyota-Lexus-/191858031636?hash=item2caba13c14:g:oEwAAOSw4A5YrF0H -

This should be the correct Lexus part number for the filler pipe 77201-48250 unfortunately there is no price provided on Toyodiy but Amayama lists them at £72.00 plus shipping from Japan. -
Not sure what you need but there is a good selection of custom made sellers on ebay, I just typed in "Lexus GS300 exhaust" Sod's law but there are aftermarket rear boxes available for the earlier model. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-Rear-Silencer-Muffler-LEXUS-GS-300-430-PAIR-L-R-Black-Sport-Tuning-/112143312095?hash=item1a1c4324df:g:ua4AAOSwTA9X4Y~v

Well the springs arrived late afternoon, I don't want to spend a fortune on this car but there again don't want some chinese counterfeit product so I was pleasantly surprised to find the springs are German manufactured and look good quality. I had never heard of the make but it does exist and for £60.00 the pair delivered I'm happy.
