  1. I bought a set of NGK iridiums for mine for around £45.00 some time ago but when I came to fit them I only managed to remove one HT lead from one plug, even though they were replaced a few years ago and were lubricated with the grease provided with the lead set they are now firmly stuck to the plugs. I didn’t want to risk tugging them so hard I damaged or broke the leads, if anyone has a safe removal method they could recommend I am all ears.
  2. Power mode generally only gives transmission up shifts higher up the rev range so when cruising at a constant speed should have little effect on fuel consumption if still accelerating gently. Another factor is the non functioning AC which to be fair is probably negligible fuel wise on a 4ltr V8 compared to a 1ltr 3 pot engine but open windows and a moonroof would be detrimental to aerodynamics.
  3. I was somewhat surprised that Lexus don’t offer a lifetime warranty against tyres wearing out.
  4. First step would be to get any stored codes read from the VSV data link port, this should then guide you to what the problem may be. There are so many inputs into the VSC/TRAC/ABS ECU that it would be very time consuming and expensive to start guessing at the cause although wheel ABS sensors are always suspect due to them being subjected to extreme conditions due to their locations but if one was faulty I would expect the ABS warning light to be on also.
  5. The only fuse common to all the failed items is labelled MPX-B rated at 10A and located in the interior fuse panel.
  6. While replacing the rear discs and pads on another member’s car a few weeks ago which was a DHP model I cannot remember the wheel nuts being the conical type just the normal ones although longer.
  7. It’s a bit frightening pulling the vents out first time but you soon discover Lexus clips tend not to break easily so your confidence grows over time. The back light problem is easily fixed in 20 minutes with decent soldering skills but bleeding or blacked out LCDs are another thing so you did the best thing replacing the complete unit.
  8. The picture has fell over.... Welcome to the LOC.
  9. Not sure on the location or access to the fuse box but the fuses are normally listed on the inside of the cover...the cigar lighter fuse is usually listed as CIG and is rated at 7.5A. If it is the fuse causing the problem check both cigar sockets for debris inside them before replacing the blown fuse.
  10. I’m on Shell Helix at the moment, buy it when Euro Car Parts have the discount codes.
  11. I have the nav manual and electrical service manuals but not accessible until Sunday when I can look them up for you. It sounds like the drive unit is failing to boot up hence it is remaining on the home screen. Worst scenario is the disc drive has failed, I have a fully working one which you can try if needs be.
  12. Hello and welcome to the LOC. Was it the dealer from where you bought the car that did the wheels or have you had them done yourself? If the latter I would be questioning what exactly I had paid for given it sounds like half a job?
  13. A new sump plug washer is also only around a quid from Lexus.
  14. Tape head azimuth is out, in layman’s terms the head in the player and the cassette adaptor are not perfectly aligned with each other, what is the sound like if you play a tape in the deck (assuming you still have one and the deck still works).
  15. Another possible cause can be due to pushing the caliper pistons back without releasing the bleed nipple, this can result in turned seals in the master cylinder. If you have access to a pressure bleed kit this may also be beneficial as the fluid is forced through ensuring all the air is removed.
  16. It’s beginning to sound like one of these, is it clear on HPI?
  17. Tyre looks like an original DZ8 so will be well past it’s use by date, the spare I had in the GS300 was like that.
  18. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I seem to remember a similar question being asked a while ago, I’ll move your post into the RX forum for a wider audience.
  19. I have the JDM Toyota Celsior version which should work, the Celsior has no EGR system but apart from that are the same. Check your pin outs and compare to this one.
  20. I think I still have one, took it all the way to Ft.Lauderdale for a guy who never turned up, also had the capacitors changed I think, will take a look in the garage and come back to you.
  21. Hello Tim and welcome to the LOC. Usual cause is window seals or door seals, perhaps get someone to drive the car while you sit in the passenger seat and try and pin point the source. Another one could be torn, damaged or removed plastic sheeting between the door interior trim panel and the door framework.
  22. The window switch panel is held in 0lace by spring clips, the tool to use is a small wall paper scraper, if you are still struggling let me know and I’ll remove one of mine to show you the clip positions.
