  1. The ducting from the hybrid battery to the fan at the top of the picture is shown below to give you an idea of what you are looking for.
  2. Hello and welcome to the LOC. The lense should just prise off, if you look closely there should be some cutouts along the edge indicating where to insert a flat blade to release the clips. You could also try searching for dome light bulb replacement as this is what Lexus call it.
  3. Search is your friend, you can call me search from now on 🙂 Post 8 I think may help.
  4. What are the emission figures for the test i.e. CO levels etc? If they are just above requirements maybe an oil flush and change plus a good run before presentation would get them down to legal levels. Is the servicing up to date? Mine is 24 years old and tested emissions barely register on the equipment. It has been suggested that even with the cats removed these engines, if serviced correctly, would still pass emissions. The other thing I fail to understand is why you replaced a completely stainless steel system (bar the Y section) designed to last the life of the vehicle and the cats.
  5. £20-40 they normally get the model number off the old cat and then look up the value in a book.
  6. Being JDM my 1994 model has folding mirrors, heated and shaky shaky mirror glasses which cause water droplets to fall down off the mirror plus the passenger side dips down when reverse is selected.....well ahead of UK specification for it’s time.
  7. Hello Ivor and welcome to the LOC. Just had a look on Amayama for you and even they don’t have any stock, maybe keep an eye on ebay for some coming up unless another member has some. Or ring Lexus Birmingham as they sell on ebay and tend to hold onto old stock items.
  8. As above, yellow duster behind the bottom part coming out at the sides, sharply tug and the mirror should release from the bottom clips, lift up the mirror to disengage the 2 top hooks from the mechanism.
  9. Ebay is now deleted from my life....ordered a wheelie bin surround from a US seller at $47.00 with free shipping but turned out the seller’s account had been hacked and ebay cancelled the transaction, as the seller had not accepted the payment I received an immediate Paypal refund. Second attempt was the same item but this time a UK seller at £36.00 with free shipping, same story account hacked, transaction cancelled but this time no immediate refund, opened dispute as advised by ebay.....20 day wait and see game, opened a dispute with Paypal....30day wait and see! Then to top it all ebay washed their hands of it and closed the dispute as I had also opened a case with Paypal so much for “Buyer Protection”.
  10. Below is the O ring diagram for the AC system, I am assuming that the numbers 1-4 refer to the parts numbers top to bottom so O ring 3 is the third one down etc. 90099-14119 90099-14120 90099-14121 90099-14122
  11. Because it was previously topped up with 700g and when returned only had 50g remaining.
  12. Lexus Derby are my local dealer also and have been very good for my occasional parts requirements, I used to get invited to the new model launches and an Open Road day but no longer, must be due to the fact I do nearly all my own servicing and Lexus vehicles tend not to need many parts even at 24 years old!
  13. This information is based on LHD model, both front units have the same part number 48010-50140.
  14. You can post your struts to them for regassing and they will post them back for around £5.50 + VAT on top of the price.
  15. For some time now my LS400s bonnet struts have been struggling to hold up in the winter months but are always fine in warmer weather. I did buy another set from ebay but these weren’t the correct fitting and I really wanted to keep the originals. Like some other members I knew of a company called SGS Engineering who have now moved to much larger premises in Derby. Finally got around to taking them off the car and took them in for examination to see if they could be regassed which is half the price of replacements, the counter guy takes them away and comes back shortly afterwards to confirm they could be regassed. ”Are you OK to wait 10 minutes while we do them?” Being generous I gave them 20 minutes ( well OK I didn’t want to rush my lunch) and sure enough they were back behind the counter ready for collection. Total cost was £42.00 including the 20% Vulture Added Tax with a 2 year warranty.
  16. Having looked through the electrical manual the common factor would seem to be the Body ECU as all three problems are associated with this device. I would start by disconnecting the battery negative terminal for a short period of time ( if your radio has a code make sure you know it) and then reconnect the battery terminal to see if this resets the ECU.There are no fuses common to all three systems.
  17. Picture below is the same model and looks the same if you zoom in, looking at your close up picture the evident dust suggests it has always been like that.
  18. Well they may have been back in 2014 🙂
  19. It may be an idea to deflate the tyre then break the bead on the rim to give you some space to work along the edge of the rim and not get paint on the tyre.
  20. The compressor pulley runs all the time the engine is running, drive to the compressor is by a “Magnetic Clutch” which is a coil that when supplied with 12 volts engages the compressor drive and the compressor begins to run. When you do have the system rechecked they should first empty the system, then purge it with nitrogen dye to check for leaks using ultra violet light then if all good add the correct amount of gas and Pag oil.
  21. Hello Steve and welcome to the LOC. It sounds like you have made a good choice with the IS250 and no timing belt to worry about at 60,000. If the car has a Lexus service history you may be able to obtain a print out from your local dealer. Sorry unable to help with Lex Tech but pretty sure another member will have some input.
  22. I’m pretty sure there is a conversion loom available, have you asked our USA cousins on loc.com?
  23. If you want to do the full flush and refill you are looking nearer 20 Litres, if you are planning the sump drain and refill method x 5 10 Litres will cover it.
