  1. I always assumed like all other hybrid models that the battery pack is under the boot floor/rear seats...if so why would removal entail disassembly of the dashboard?
  2. Sure can.... you can make one quite easily with some threaded rod and a couple of swivel joints or maybe ask SGS engineering in Derby to make you one. Or if you can provide me the measurements I can make you one. Link below is for the LS400 but the same principles involved. http://www.evansweb.info/2009/11/23/ls400-ride-height-sensor-repair/
  3. I’ve never seen a post go so far off topic, around europe and back again 😀
  4. By strange coincidence I once purchased a 1997 LS400 from Norfolk which had also had it’s rear nearside door panel chewed by a dog, you’re drive way isn’t by any chance on a slope is it?
  5. Another thing Japanese is that in order to buy a new car in Japan you have to prove you have an off street parking space as there is no parking on the streets, you either have a space at your home or buy/ rent a space nearby. In car parks you have to reverse park, there is no driving into the space, shunting backwards and forwards to get between the white line before giving up, personally I would love to see this same rule in the UK...certainly wouldn’t struggle to find a space in Morrisons any more but it could cause confusion to many drivers who don’t know what selecting the R symbol on the gearchange actually causes the car to do.
  6. The Japanese culture seems to consist of a lot of bowing, the lower the bow the more respect is being given to the person you are bowing to.....bending too far and touching your toes is considered grovelling 😀
  7. Japanese translation is very tricky, I think it actually is a message from the wife to her husband saying don’t forget your packed lunch today.
  8. Arrrr...seen this system before...when you activate the parking mode a little voice starts giving you instructions like “Right hand down a bit” “Left hand down a bit” “Straighten up” “You are very close to the kerb””You have hit the vehicle behind you leave quickly!”
  9. My other 1994 Celsior had built in Sat Nav....being curious of this feature in such an old car I opened up the navigation ECU and found this inside!
  10. Must be a Friday the thirteenth car, no wonder it’s low mileage.....no one dare drive it without consequences either that or it’s been magnetised attracting anything metallic towards it.
  11. Neighbour up the right side of our garden is not happy with a bungalow roof now taking up his skyline. I went up to the local council offices last Friday, had to speak to one of their team on the courtesy phone as he wouldn’t meet me face to face, a complete condescending individual who kept telling me all the information was on the website planning application....it isn’t I searched it all. Wrote to my local councillors at the weekend but nothing back yet in response, next stop my MP.
  12. I would say they should if they lost the old one, must be looking at £40.00 odd to replace the complete set.
  13. No chance around here Mike nearly all planning apps are done by “Delegated Powers” so never goes to committee stage. Developer has built 2 bungalows on back garden and is now constructing a steel framed and plywood house instead of brick as originally approved.
  14. Very nice, any joy with the check engine like diagnostics?
  15. Ohhhhhh.... very nice 🙂 Don’t misfuel going from diesel to petrol although the nozzle won’t fit into the filler.
  16. It could be that the gear selector linkage is out of adjustment after the clutch replacement, did you mark the old position before removing the linkage?
  17. Normally the rear fog lights only come on with the dipped beam headlights on, does the fog light indicator light come on when you select them on? I also seem to remember several other members suffering from a faulty reversing camera which may have been due to water ingress. Finally welcome to the LOC.
  18. Mine is also an import model Celsior, it was 12 years old when I bought it with 62,000kms. Still going strong nearly 13 years later with regular DIY servicing and few suspension parts only due to UK roads.
  19. Arr that may explain why I lost you all, I arrived in Buxton went past the train station and couldn’t find anyone in the town but then saw the orange german car and an ISF behind it. I saw them turn right at the roundabout back towards the station but they had disappeared by the time I had turned around. I also searched the car parks and had the windows down in the hope of hearing one of you but then decided to park up on the A6 just up the hill from Wetherspoons waiting for you to come past....I waited until 3.00pm so guess you went out another way. Nevermind it was still nice to see you all at Lexus Derby and I took the A515 and Via Gellia on the way back as a change.
  20. I could do with some help regarding a housing development near my house and the local authority is being rather vague regarding some questions I need answering. If there is a fellow member who could offer a bit of help please PM me.
  21. No matter what the technology there is nothing as sure as that quick glance over your shoulder before pulling off.
  22. A little tip...when refitting the new plugs and to avoid cross threading I used a piece of rubber tubing that can be fitted over the nipple on the plug. Gently lower the plug into the head and then twist the tubing to start off the threads and screw the plug in as far as possible with the tubing. Once safely threaded pull off the tubing and fully tighten the plug to the correct torque.
