This is not very far from me if anyone wants me to give it the once over. Does look genuine, MOT history is pretty good especially if all the previous fails have been rectified with decent parts. Buy it now at £2450.00 seems a good price these days more so with a full service history. First registered 31/12/1999 so almost a 2000 year model. If I was looking, I’d be viewing this one.

Hi Aaron and welcome to the LOC. Main thing is what does the temperature gauge show? Mine sometimes “smells hot” after a good run but I know the coolant itself, the level is good and the gauge is roughly centrelined. As for supercharger problems my technical abilities only extend to knowing what one looks like but there are members who should be able to offer advice.

Temp and fuel gauge not working, help.
steve2006 replied to bernadette_speight@yahoo.c's topic in New Members Area
Hi Bernadette and welcome to the LOC. Never come across this fault before but given the work already done a replacement cluster would seem to be the best solution or transplant the two gauges from another cluster into yours. As far as I know no reprogramming is required but of course the replacement cluster will show a different mileage. For a replacement it’s probably going to be ebay unless you find an online breaker with one. There are quite a few https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=lexus+gs300+instrument+cluster&_sacat=0 -
So finally another update! Within a week as promised the head rest and second batch of matched colourant arrived and this time it does match so full marks to the supplier. Included in the original kit was a small air brush and a can of compressed air, the canister lasted around 2 minutes so I connected it up to my Clark air compressor but it was very tedious covering only a very small area at a time, constantly clogging and then splattering. So I purchased a cheap KK Moon gravity feed sprayer from the Flea pit. This has made the job a whole lot easier and quicker plus the finish is excellent so progress has finally been made. Not done the inner bottom panels yet but the sides and top are, needs another couple of coats then the lacquer goes on in semi matt.

Used IS300H checklist when picking up?
steve2006 replied to corpjones's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Congratulations on your purchase. Two keys minimum, usually 1 “Master” key and 1 “valet” key, The master key opens all locks, boot and glovebox, the valet not the glovebox or boot. Get all the paperwork, user manuals and service history. Check bodywork for any damage or marks, matched tyres on an axle, check wheel condition as Lexus alloys are renowned for paint peeling and corrosion. Lexus do some decently priced service/warranty packages for older models “Essential Servicing” Enjoy the Lexus experience drinking as much free coffee and snacks as you can in the time allowed. -
Advice please - to buy or wait

You have to consider that there is always a retail and a trade valuation and a consequent price difference. The chances are Lexus will put the car straight into auction so will effectively sell on at a trade price as opposed to sticking it on the forecourt where it would fetch more but then there is the expense of preparation. You could try advertising it on Autotrader but you then have the hassle of viewings, tyre kickers, and it won’t be sold by the end of tomorrow. Don’t bother with the likes of “We buy any Crap.com” I heard recently that during the lockdown they were offering 50% of “ book price” on a take it or leave it basis. If you do decide to sell privately and offer a test drive make sure you stay with the car and ask to see proof of insurance. Lexus will always charge a premium price, there is one on AT similar in mileage but over £15K https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202007091047229?onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&make=LEXUS&sort=relevance&radius=1500&postcode=de551dg&advertising-location=at_cars&year-from=2013&year-to=2013&model=IS 300&maximum-mileage=70000&page=1 -
EGR valve for Avensis/RAV4 compatible with IS220D?
steve2006 replied to Blazzz's topic in Engine & Transmission
Good result, thanks for the update this will I’m sure help other owners. -
Hi Tom and welcome to the LOC. I had the exact same problem with my GS300, you are almost there. Put the ignition key into the Ignition position, leave it 8 minutes, remove the key, then reinsert the key. At this point the security light should go out and the engine should start.

Hi Shane and welcome to the LOC. You must have the Beams engine 😀 Plugs wet so you have fuel, no spark even on a known good coil pack swop around means you have a wiring fault to that coil or no ECU igniter pulse. I don’t have the wiring diagram unfortunately so unable to help much more, check the connection plug to the coil for a poor connection and then it’s a case of following the wiring back towards the ECU. Have a look at the link below, I found more dead links than anything but you may find what you need somewhere in there. https://www.google.co.uk/search?client=safari&sxsrf=ALeKk03K76Mkjz7ffxkn6Og8XGo7-vMO3g%3A1595169547983&source=hp&ei=C1sUX5nFOYa9UM3mi9AK&q=beams+engine+ignition+wiring+diagram&oq=Beams+engine+ignition+wiring&gs_lcp=ChFtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1ocBABGAAyBQghEKABOgcIIxDqAhAnOgQIIxAnOgUIABCRAjoFCAAQsQM6CAgAELEDEIMBOgIILjoCCAA6BQguELEDOgYIABAWEB46BwghEAoQoAE6BAghEBU6CAghEBYQHRAeUNQlWO6NAWC5lwFoAXAAeACAAboCiAHhHJIBCDguMTYuMy4xmAEAoAEBsAEP&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp Found this after a bit more searching, shows the ECU coil pins etc, make sure the faulty coil has a good earth as they are done individually at each coil looking at the diagram. https://www.sq-engineering.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/3S-GE_Wiring_Diagram.pdf

Key fob... won't...
steve2006 replied to PCM's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
It sounds like the receiver has become corrupted, have you tried opening the car with the key ( presently your only method) putting the key into the ignition, turning it to ignition position and then leaving it there for around 8 minutes. Remove the key then reinsert and see if the engine starts. The receiver is normally located around the ignition lock. If that fails try disconnecting the car battery negative for a while to see if the system resets. Or even better get the AA out they fix most cars within 40 minutes according to the TV ads 😏 -
There’s been a few for sale on the club recently, found this one but there are others.

Talking of wheels I picked a a full set of IS250C ones the other week, the owner changed them soon after he purchased the car new and finally decided to get rid of them as he was “fed up of them taking up room in the garage and falling over them”. At the price I didn’t even haggle, gave him the £100.00 and got them in the boot soon as. Not sure what to do yet, I have 2 nearly new Pirelli P Zeros 245/45/18 (100Y) for the 8.5” rears and need another pair for the fronts which I understand should be 225/45/18. I was also considering putting a set of winter tyres on them but the car only does 1-2 K a year so probably not worth it.

Hi Phil and welcome to the LOC. Feel free to post up a picture or two...be interesting to see the colour combination. Here’s the link for servicing if you are interested, pretty good value in general I think. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/lexus-essential-care/#hero

OK I’ll put my serious hat back on now after my comedy moment. Every since I bought my Celsior back in 2006 I have always thought the steering was a little vague, safe but vague. There is a section of road leading off the estate where I live and despite tyre replacements the car has always tram lined on it, the MOT tester who collects and redelivers the car has also remarked the same but nothing has ever been found amiss on the MOT. I also have the wheels balanced of course and the tracking checked and adjusted if required when a tyre change is performed but I wondered if being designed for the Japanese market if there are any differences in geometry settings between it and the UK Lexus LS400 version to suit the road types in Japan. Have you also checked the rear suspension Phil? Pretty sure I have heard of situations where a rear problem has a cause and effect on the front end. Another possibility may be the drive train like transmission, diff supports and prop shaft couplings.
