  1. “Alexa is my Tesla fully charged yet.” ”Your Tesla is fully charged and I have updated the software for you”
  2. This looks like an ideal picture for a caption competition 😀
  3. I’m still waiting for mine to hit 100,000 miles....26 years old and still not there 😀
  4. Hi Paul and welcome to the LOC. Only 3 weeks to a nearly new Lexus 😀
  5. All I saw was Model S, looking at the 0-60 time I fully understand !
  6. I heard these were like rocket ships off the line but I never stood a chance even in power mode! The previous junction he was alongside me but my language prevents me posting, this time I was behind him and stayed there, no speeding as we both shut off at the limit but there’s no law regarding how quick you get there, anyone have a couple of turbos 😀 4DDD0056-3368-44FF-925D-74029857ED6D.MOV
  7. Nice one Peter, great clear pictures and instructions.
  8. I’ve just thought of another possible solution using double sided sticky pads to secure the mirror to the frame.
  9. Hi Lisa and welcome to the LOC. You don’t display which RX model you have but this info is based on a 2006 RX300. There are only 3 parts available, the glass, the complete housing and the door mounting. The housing price is as shown ! You best and cheapest solution is to try and buy a secondhand housing from a breaker from the likes of ebay and then use the parts to repair yours. Or you could get the mirror in the correct position then use a glue gun to secure the mirror to the housing with a blob in each corner...unsightly but does the job.
  10. Perhaps take the bulb out and tell her it’s going to cost thousands to fix it at Lexus 😀
  11. Amayama have an equivalent under part number 48770-59065 which comes up as the same part when x referenced back. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/4877059045 Can’t understand how one side costs twice the other though!
  12. Don’t forget also you paid VAT on the total amount including the shipping cost too not just the parts price.
  13. Many years ago ( I don’t get invites any more) I attended a “Lexus Open Road Day” which was at a stately home setting near to Ashby de la Zouche. There was a selection of Lexus cars available to test drive with both the ISF and LS600 prebookable which I did. I drove a CT200 and IS250c on my own around the local area but the main attractions were accompanied drives. The LS600 was fine but I waited hours for the ISF even though I had booked a slot at a specific time, I got the impression that they were hoping I would give up waiting and go home in my lowly LS400 dressed as a Toyota Celsior. I eventually got my drive though. The fully trained “Stig” type racing driver took the car out first and thrashed the thing at every opportunity, red lining, heavy braking fast cornering ( perhaps he had been told to do so for my insistence). The car was owned by an LOC member the last time I mentioned it but I can’t find the photo now. So I can fully understand what these “Press cars” go through.
  14. If you pre paid the VAT with RA you should also be able to claim that back either directly through them of HMRC.
  15. I think we’re gonna need a bigger LOC server 😀
  16. There should also be a stored fault code to help you locate the problem if you have a reader.
  17. My local body shop near Alfreton, Derbyshire does them. I am having mine done in a couple of weeks, not cheap at £80.00 a wheel but they are mirrored silver finish. 4 day job for mine he said. The guy has all the tyre removal/refitting gear and balancing stuff so the tyres are removed.
  18. As you mention Colin this method has been standard practice. This also includes the LS400 models from the beginning of production but I have heard no reports of the same failure on these even given some are now 30 odd years old with hundreds of thousands clocked up. Once again I suspect the investment and qualities that went into the LS400 failed to continue after 2000.
  19. This may help confirm the vehicle tag details. A little concerning that one of the colours available was “Atomic Silver” a few years after the nuclear power station incident in Japan!
  20. Hi Alan and welcome to the LOC. I nearly bought a 4.0Lt Soarer once it belong to a local guy who never had much time to drive it and wanted a grand for it...wish I had now! It also sounds like you have some useful mechanical skills which are always welcome too.
  21. I’m a bit confused here.. so PetePT sold a very nice Is250 to Jason but didn’t as he sold his to local village idiot who then passed it onto another Pete who sold it to Jason? 😀😀😀
  22. Hello Nilesh and welcome to the LOC.
  23. You may have a bit of a drive for this one so it may be worth checking for similar companies nearer your home. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS-220D-STAINLESS-STEEL-CUSTOM-BUILT-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-DUAL-SINGLE-TAIL-PIPES/111085693810?hash=item19dd392b72:g:jEMAAMXQS6pRp2pm
  24. I don’t know but it sounds like they should both meet, take the assumed good engine from the crashed one and put it into the oil starved one. Gives a whole new perception of “ Cut and Shut”. Personally I think looking at the body damage the mystery car has been on the race track somewhere so may be worth checking UK tracks and of course that famous German one, this would explain the lack of insurance if the owner didn’t cover it on their policy.
