When I first bought the car it had staggered 17” Impul Granz chrome alloy wheels which after being subjected to 3 years of UK road salt and despite regular cleaning looked bad. Several sets later I ended up going to 18s (insurance notified of course). The tyres are high performance 100Y rated so rated both for weight and speed. It was just the 4 holidays that got cancelled, all Jet 2 and all refunded in a timely manner, the first one was in March which got cancelled as we sat at the gate!

Try spraying some Easy Start into the air intake, if it then continues to run albeit roughly then it would indicate a fuel problem.

Well it’s gone in today, having the boot lid and bumper done too so 1k for the whole job. Also bought some new tyres, they are all around 3-4mm but thought may as well replace them as the old ones are coming off for the refurbishment. All Pirelli P Zero 245/40/18s on the fronts and 245/45/18s on the rears ( trying to close the wheel arch gap at the rear). Never spent so much in one go but given the same models are now fetching over 10k imported and registered I think well worth it plus I’ve saved 10 times that on cancelled holidays this year!

LED swap in gauge cluster makes all the difference!

If anyone wants to convert their LS here another tutorial. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lighting/clustercolor.html -
That sounds right for correct servo operation, with the engine off and pumping the pedal it should rise to the top after a couple of presses. You should then feel the pedal drop slightly under your foot when the engine is started as the vacuum builds up. When was the last time the brake fluid was replaced? Regarding the Rockauto part be aware this will probably be for the LHD version and will therefore not have the unions on the correct side for RHD.

I can’t justify it so sticking with Old Faithful. Going in on Monday for the glazed roof problem and the wheel refurbishment plus I am going to ask if he can also respray the boot lid which has a few scratches on it plus the paint has cracked on a previous bumper repair so hoping he will also sort that too hopefully FOC. This along with my newly refurbished seats, less than 2000 miles a year, very cheap agreed value insurance, another clean MOT and the fact the car owes me absolutely nothing after 14 years means I’m sticking with it. Thanks for all the input.

Sorry I didn’t see the post first, my present Celsior just fits, the garage was extended previously to accommodate a Mercedes S500. Just looked at some insurance quotes, bearing in mind my maximum NCB expired years ago due to “Classic” insurance so I’m back at zero. Cheapest came in just below £400.00 with an £850.00 excess ! Mine is in the paint shop Monday for the roof respray and wheel refurb so I’ll probably want to keep it then.

Personally I would be making a return visit to the place that did the tyre change and tracking, if all was OK before what has been done to cause the problem now? Did they actually adjust the tracking or just check it and it was within specification? Also check the tyre pressures are correct. There is a TSB applying to your car regarding a steering problem but only up to 2013 models.

Usually culprit is the concertina sections on the EGR pipes, there are 2 sections one on top of the rear coolant bridge and the other below so make sure you have checked both parts. Corroded cat to exhaust flanges are another weak point.

There was one being broken on the forums recently but appears to have gone now, one on ebay but no year details. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Breaking-Lexus-SC430-Black-leather-Convertable/283776017464?hash=item42125e6438:g:se8AAOSwszVePtMq If you are still stuck I would be happy to see if I could replace the LEDs for you. -

Sorry Qamar I only just read your PM. I have emailed the diagrams for future reference, getting the indicator unit off is nerve racking but rarely breaks anything apart from the yellow fixing in the wing. Spring replacement isn’t too bad provided nothing is seized nut and bolt wise, I replaced my rear springs with KYB and all was good although they do seem a tad higher than the originals. -
Please say Ola to the staff at the Rio Palace Maspalomas, we normally stay there over Christmas and New Year but it looks like this year is out.

Hi John and welcome to the LOC. The clock question has been asked several times in the past and unless there has been a very recent change the answer I’m afraid is no there is no option to change it to the 24 clock. Given it is a Lexus it is additionally surprising that there is also no am/pm indication. Regarding the high beam LEDs there will no doubt be aftermarket options available although the legality of these is questionable. The link below may provide some ideas regarding a conversion. https://www.xenondepot.com/2017-ct200h-led-headlight-kit-review
