Jamboo, My flaps are totally different to those I had on the IS200/300e.g.the former fronts were cupped shaped @ the bottom whereas the new are strait to prevent breakage between the mounting strip & the cupped base. Secondly,the rear are wider so I do not understand. Tel

My Flaps & wheels were a key part of my deal last December.The stainless color was a real pleasant surprise as was the neatness of the very shallow but wide flaps. The front wheels are 18x8J & the rear pair are 18x8.5J wrapped in 255/40 Dunlop Maxx running@ 39psi giving a surprisingly smoother ride than the former 17"set. If you buy this package as an accessory with Gold discount it costs c.£1700 minus the price you can get for your current wheel tyre combo which could easily bring the price close to £1200. Tel

Jamboo, Once more thanks for your help:we struggled because we did not realise the ADD ATTACHMENT button converted the Url address to a picture!!!!Thick or what! Deisel Sport. Above idle surprisingly refined & got c.38mpg. Prefer my wheels.the stainless color contrast really compliments the argento silver The big down side for me was the Gear Change which tingled slightly in my hand in 1/2 & I caught my knuckles on the h/brake engaging reverse. Acceleration in gear 3 is awesome:mirror did not vibrate. Tel

Dealer fitted my Hoshis & the mudflaps & the result is excellent.The ride is surprisingly smoother than on my previous 17" set-up,the wheel-colour is stainless steel as opposed to alloy grey & the larger wheels dramatically make the profile of the car less heavy.I will try to post pics when I can work out how to attach from my file to LOC:my grandaughter may know & she's just 3! So sorry! Chips away do a fantastic job & are used by the majority of franchised garages BUT they use a cellulosic-based paint that after c.2years will shrink everso slightly.However the job has a 2year guarantee,would not be so noticeable in a light colour & in the bumper corner with all the angles con-verging.Get a quote & see if the guy gives you confidence & what he has to say about shrinkage:you will save a packet! Tango, Lexus has always supplied my 18" wheels on my new IS 200 Sport,IS 300 &,this week hopefully,6 mnths late(!), on my IS250SEL AUTO.I do not think recalibration is neceesary because if you do the maths the 18"set is within the speedometer tolerance which is c. 5% optimistic! On my 18's, my car will accelerate faster to 100mph 'til the added drag sets in!!!!!! Tel

So so sorry. Your car is the TOPS:my advice is take it to the Lexus Centre @ Nottingham who have their own Bodyshop & get a quote whilst you have coffee & biscuit:you want your car 100% & vandalism is covered by your Insurance:a Police Incident No. would help but is not esential. TEL

I chose the SEL AUTO without MM to replace my IS300 for the following reasons--- a) the spec. justifies the price difference between the IS300 & the IS250SE. b)the STD audio is excellent c)Bluetooth installation cost me just £90:Sun Visor Unit which gives surprisingly good performance. d)After years with Sat Nav I relied totally on the sexy female voice &,if needed,a cheap TOM TOM can give that. Do not get me wrong the graphics are great to look @ & impress friends & neighbours BUT it really is costly & soon looses its impact IF used frequently. TEL

Tango, Fitting 225/40/18 fronts & 255/40/18 rear as per the Factory:do not yet know which tyre as Lexus supply the Dunlops & Bridgestones & LOC members, Globally,have no preference:what tyre manufacture have you chosen? Also note the Spacesaver Spare needs changing too as the 18" combo is c.15mm. bigger. Tel

Cold start with handbrake ON, revs @ 1600 which falls to 1000rpm when reverse is engaged then idles @ 800rpm very shortly thereafter.No drive-line shunt whatsoever But I do always cold-start & engage drive with the "hand-brake" ON & ,in winter, will idle for c.20secs before engaging drive. TEL

I've had a high frequency rattle from the centre of my IS250 dash just once after leaving the car overnight in sub zero temperatures. It disappeared as soon as the interior warmed up (about 20 minutes). As I've no doubt this would repeat itself under the same set of circumstances I mentioned it to the Technician at the local Lexus Dealership. His opinion (not necessarily those of the Dealership) was that pulling the dash apart to fix theis minor problem may introduce far bigger ones. Just a thought but I've learnt to listen to the guy as he's sorted any problems I've had with my IS200 Sport in the past (one last week in fact which was a constant rubbing noise that I thought was the rear pads and discs...he sorted after two hours investigation and rectification FOC). Gord, First saw the 6-spokes availability in Hong Kong in 2002 & they were chrome:I ordered my IS300 with 18"wheels in lieu of the 17" & chose the matt finish.The U.K.Styling Kit was launched shortly afterwards--I suppose my wheels could have been fitted @ the Bristol Importers & I would guess these wheels were multi-sourced by Lexus:hence mine were mint 2.5years down the line. The 18 inch styling (6-spoke) are not corrosion free, ive had 2 sets, and many others have had them changed under warranty :D Gord, Assuming yours like mine were Factory Fitted then from your experience I was lucky as I had mine for 30 mnths. & they were mint. Tel.

Lexus do not take the hit, it is their Italian wheel supplier & the 18" version(6-spoke) is corrosion-free!Secondly,your warranty covers corrosion SO all 5 wheels should be replaced along with the centre-caps! Tel
