What is the mpg on a 50 mile urban/motorway run split 1:4.? I got c.28 & I drive fast. The car was a Demo,had 1600 miles on the clock , was rapid & ultra smooth. Ask your ? on the USA forum if necessary as there are loads running there. Tel

Jamboo, Re-your "Radio Console" rattle:does it stop when you press the console just around the Security Lamp area either side.? The fix is easy & known! Tel

Alan, Have experinced this on other cars but not my Lexi----try lowering the window half-way & then press the window down from the top edge so that it is secure in its carrier mechanism. Hope this helps! Tel

My 18/240/40 Dunlops after 5000miles are both identical ref-toe - in :i.e. 7/7/7/6mm.with no feathering on the inner end tread block. Tel

Had to have 2 of my Hoshis repaired due to me scuffing the kerb! No alloy in the world will withstand a scuff however minor because its a laquered paint finish on the surface:in the Hoshi's case it is chrome over black. In both cases I heard it because I was travelling c. 2mph:significantly the alloy rim itself (to the naked eye ) was not damaged. Tel

Mine cold-starts @ 1800,falls to 1500 within 20 seconds But, when I select reverse, falls to c.1000rpm. After c. 2miles or 5 mins the Aircon comes-in & the idle-speed is then normal.Have always said the car warms up faster than previous IS's. Tel

Took my car into Coventry yesterday for its first sevice using fully synthetic oil(Service was free as compensation for delivery issues).Loan car was a GS hybrid that was superbly built & electryfyingly fast! They have sold 5 x LS460's to date,IS deliveries are still c. 12weeks & the IS 500 was said to be due @ the end of 2007.My Supercar was returned to me in pristine condition & was described as stunning with its Hoshis by two of their Team. In the last year I have done 6500miles & had 2 minor rattles fixed expertly & rapidly by the superb Nottingham Team :I jetted home from Cov. smiling! Lexus certainly gets my vote & clearly I am not alone with European Sales significantly higher year on year. Tel

Thanks for the info on Service costs.IMHO the flaps really help to fill the wheel arches with my 18" kit whilst ,with 19", they really must be awesome.The flaps are absolutely essential because our cars do not have the previous model's stone protection paint strip that was applied in body colour to the bottom of the doors. The colour of the car is Argento Silver & you can hopefully open-up the image to a 15" screen size(My 1st. real attachment so please let me know if this is not the case). The wheels cost £1250 in lieu of 17" @ the point of sale but didn't actually arrive until the end of May because of delivery issues. The actual wheel colour is totally different to the Web pictures & is actually smoked- chrome which,again, I can see in the image posted. Tel

If you recall the Service costs were said to be lower for the new IS because the engine has been designed for semi-synthetic oil:I will use the Full 100% but our cars have clearly run-in on semi !Please let me know your cost. ps/Have posted a picture of my car in the wrong Forum i.e. Aristo:what do you think once the image has been opened-up? On this Forum there are only 3 people who have had Lemons in so far as they have never fully resolved their rattle issues which is horrible for them given the rest have been successfully resolved by the expertise of their particular Dealer. Lexus build quality is exemplary but both the GS & the IS did suffer launch niggles in the dash & seats that were quickly sorted. IF mine was not 101% I would get it sorted[i have had 3 new cars replaced] so I have suffered the heartache of GROSS disappointment but the Dealers do come up with resolution in 99.9% of the cases without resort to such drastic action ! 5 weeks ago Jamboo was ecstatic about his Supercar & will be again, once he has counted to 10 & asked Leicester to sort it albeit for the second time! Make no mistake Lexus is light years ahead of the German opposition:see the Porsche & Bmw Websites if you dont beleive me. Tel

Tango:Car tracks true @ well over 100mph & speeds in between so I have always assumed the geometry/tracking is spot-on:am I correct given I have always got c.20k miles from my rear 18" Dunlops & c.25k. on the front; always ensuring the pressures are spot-on. Mudflaps would look good against the Granite body colour & are diferrent to those for the 200/300 series which I consumed in great numbers due to the internal membrane on the front always failing:the new design is much more robust & should last years!
